Ok so I forgot to back up the original HTC Rom when I rooted my phone. Sorry guys new to this learned that mistake, but now I need the original cdma HTC hero rom. Can anyone in internet land help me fix my baby?
You wouldn't have been able to backup the pre-rooted ROM but if you are looking to go back to stock Sense then RUU back. Search RUU in the Hero Development section. You can always re-root and then backup the rooted ROM.

Since you're already rooted, you can just install the .2 ROM pre-made. I'll look for it tonight for you after duty. But hopefully one of these high speed members can get it for you while I'm away.

I'm thinking of rooting my Legend, but I first wanted to know how hard it is to unroot my device (for the OTA from HTC) and which ROM I should pick, I'm thinking of the Cyanogen Azure but maybe you guys know a better one.

Yes go for Azure best choice.
Yes it's easy to unroot with goldcard.
Just look in the forum and u will find all u need within 3 pages for sure.

To start off, I'm not new to android just not that knowledgeable in the hero arena.
That being said, I know someone with a rooted sprint hero that hasn't been updated in quite some time as far as prl/radio/spl.
I was wondering if anyone could inform me of a good radio/spl combo. I have read a lot but don't know what is compatible with what here. I understand to flash to a sense rom and check for updates for the prl. I assume u do that first then flash to a rom of your choice, if u chose to, then flash the radio before the spl. Or is there a way to unroot to stock 2.1 to get new spl/radio/prl, then re root and just find a rom? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

no need to unroot, I would find the flashable sprint radio ends in 10.29 (search), then flash any sprint or sense rom (search) and update profile/prl, then find the eng-spl that darchstar put up and install it - if that's what you meant by spl. Good luck

Thanks for the fast reply bro. The eng spl was the only one I saw but was unsure if it was compatible with any radio as it doesn't work that way in the g1 my touch world. If they aren't compatible u end up with a shiny paperweight.
I can find those with no prob and am aware of what roms are out there and what I think I might try. I guess I'll get to work on it.
I assume I should do the updates in that order? Appreciate your feedback.

Been looking for an android 1.6 rom for a Sprint Hero looked through the forums but couldn't find any with links that work.
I'm just looking for an RUU thats 1.6 since the 2.1 rom doesn't work well on it.
I'm not looking for a rom that I need to root for, this is for a friend so the easiest and least risky way of going back to 1.6 or another better than 2.1 rom.
I hope I didn't miss this in the forums because I don't want to waste your time, just been trying to get this issue fixed for a while.

Roms are for rooted phones only You need rom manager, superuser, and a recovery as well.

I guess I'm looking for an RUU then, I know you can install different versions of the actual OS without doing anything special, done it many times before. I'm just looking for Android 1.6 from Sprint, not a custom one because that requires rooting it.

It had 1.5 originally, then went to 2.1. that's why yer having trouble finding 1.6.

i need htc evo rooted stock rom so i can update my profile and use 3g again. i have found some links, but none of them work. can someone please post a link ASAP that works and so i can download the rooted stock rom. i dont like my phone without 3g

Hi I messed around with my HTC Salsa and now I want to revert back to the original ROM it came with when I first got it.
I backed it up but it keeps rebooting and now I don't know what to do.
is it possible to get the orignal ROM in a zip, the exe doesnt work for me

Erm......no. you can't get an ruu to boot like a rom. What problems do u have?
Did u by chance remove your backup of your SD card? Then place it back when u wanted to rwstore it?
Can I ask why u want to revert back?
Closest rom u will get without problems near to stock is iconic. Just don't add he optional extras lol
