[Q] Is it still possible to root?

Can i still root my phone although i just downloaded the official froyo? I mean with underevoked? Ty in advance

I do not think anyone has succeeded yet in rooting froyo using unrevoked. I would not her on it and instead use wildpuzzle that is based on the htc froyo for europe.

OK i think so.

that's why smart people instead have flashed the update.zip without HROOT. So Unrevoked remains after FroYo flash
Just had to flash the superuser paket again and superuser is back!

I think that I found a solution...Maybe if you install a shipped ROM and root the phone again will solve the problem...I will give it a try..

I am the only one thinking that 20n zip and 20n lite zip are just a hybrid between v20a (chinese beta) and files/folders pulled from unrootable (till now) V20n, cyanogen, marquee.....??

Well, it's true that we don't know anything "behind the scene" of this ROM built from LGE. But as far I tried to debug/catch every log inside of it, it's Gingerbread. The kernel using 2.6.35.x as Gingerbread based, and Froyo can't use the 2.6.35 because mostly it has deprecated function/code. And the reason that might be same as Froyo, because mainly UI looks the same, no difference at all.

It seems so my friend BUT: I consider it a very strange situation, that German GB for our phone has appeared few days ago ( and is still on LG serwers ) while we do not see releases for other countries. Strange.
For me German ( or any other country specific ) ROM no differs from Open Europe apart from default laungage and localisation settings.

I think he want to tell that this repack is a mix from different gb. It's a gb but mixed from older release to achieve root. Is this correct? Maybe ppl got confuse into thinking that this is rooted recently release v20n. So, which is which?

I was wondering if one of the kdz files posted in the forum are an att froyo american stock file.
any help would be awesome and thanks for the heads up on this...this could help the developers on here get going with a possibility of some new custom stuff.

I don't think you don't need to flash back to stock before flashing V20p.
Just use the guide and flash it over whatever you have.

just a heads up i retained everything including staying rooted
edit: lost root but kept the superuser icon

So they change the HSDPA category to 10, like it should have been?
I've been running Thriller ROM for quite some time now and ever since gtg changed it my "4G" speeds have close to tripled.

mine did that when i first "upgraded" to stock 2.3.5 all it took for me was a simple reboot

i deleted att apk sync.
... that's the problem.... i need to restore it... i even looked for the att sync apk and odex file to put it into app folder..
but it didn't fix the problem

that's what i did... i was deleting att apps to clean the system... you know that those apps can't be unistalled..

I don't want to have unlocked bootloader. But i have a rooted phone so i was trying to install G2 apk from enox rom, on stock firmware but it's crashing. Need i a special frwamwork file?

a keyboard works, but I had to copy files by hand and change permission.
If anybodey need it, there is a higher verison of stock sms aplication UniMessage.apk v3.5.51.(0)....
Don't forget to delete a odex and change permission.

I have the Verizon LG G2 and I'm rooted. I hate the messaging app because Verizon has removed the spam folder. Is there any way to get another carrier's messaging app and use it? I've tried several that I've found online and they don't seem to work. I'm new to this root thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Try and see if you can install non-bloated G2 firmware on your phone without having any problems.I bet some people have done that before in order to remove bloatware verizon has put in.Since your phone is rooted, this should be a piece of cake, try to find a guide about it and see if there are any losses/dangers of installing LG's stock ROM on a verizon phone, which is likely safe.
And please, ask it on G2 boards next time.I bet they know more about G2 than we do...
