sense weather/clock widget will not center on screen :( - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Grrrrrrr , I love this widget , but it will not centre on the screen, I have tried a number of different version without success.
Small widgets fit in the centre of the screen fine, is there any way to fix this.
Any help appreciated.
John.

It's a 4x2 Widget. What's your homescreen set at? Rows and Columns? You would need to either have 4 columns or 6 columns in order to set this widget as center. Or if you have ADW or LauncherPro you could resize it to fit as long as you had an even number of columns.

So how do i do that?

you have to install ADW from Market as @ Mikroft said, and then you can configure from settings. long pressing to the widget will give you the opportunity to Edit your widget already existing, or when you add a new widget a popup screen will ask you regarding the configuration of ROW an Column (take a look at the screenshots).....hope it help
sorry for double posting, but I having problem with internet connection. please one Admin or moderator to delete my previous post. I couldn't do it by my self !

You can install Go Laucnher Ex and use 5*5 as it allows to resize widgets..

Layering Widgets with LauncherPro Plus

I'm trying to create a new look on my phone and I'm currently using LauncherPro Plus. I can't post a link to the design I'm going for since I haven't hit 8 posts yet, but basically I have gTab Simi Clock set up to fill half of the screen with a semi-transparent background and I want to overlay a beautiful widgets weather setup on top of the Simi Clock.
Every time I try to place the BW widget on up it gets shuffled above or below it. How do I set it up so the widgets will overlay?
Thanks
Add simi clock first, add bw after and resize it. Resize simi over bw. Restart launcher pro.

Thank you kindly sir! That worked perfectly.
It seems this only works for the homescreen you're currently looking at. For example, if I'm looking at homescreen 2 and reset LauncherPro, the widgets will be properly layered on that screen, but reversed on the others. If I go to homescreen 1 and reset LauncherPro while looking at it, homescreen 2 will then be improperly layered. The only "fix" seems to be to intentionally incorrectly layer every screen but one, and then reset LauncherPro while looking at that screen.
I've posted a bug report on the LauncherPro boards. Hopefully we'll see a fix soon.

[Q] LauncherPro Homescreen

hi,
i don't know how to set a different wallpaper for each homescreen in launcherpro
thanks
P.S. im not allowed to post a direct link so i cant give you an example
Press the Menu button on your device
Now press Wallpaper
Choose one
Win.
EDIT: Just realized it was multiple wallpapers.
Wallpaper Plus also does the job.
Search for multipicture wallpaper in the market,is free and is awesome.
I recommend Wallpaper Plus, it's better

Depends on what icons you are talking about. In terms of the dock, just long press on a dock item, and click the change icon option when the menu opens.
As for icons on the homescreen itself, you can change an applications shortcut icon whenever you create it. Just long press on the homescreen, Select Shortcuts, then Applications, Pick an App, then click its icon to change it.
You can also use Desktop Visualizer - http://www.appbrain.com/app/desktop-visualizer/jp.co.bii.android.app.dskvzr
This will let you set make custom widgets in many sizes and set the image for them to what you want. This will allow you to use oversized icons, or even custom designs such as the WP7 designs you might see around here.
Hope that answers your question

well thats in widget state, Just have to live with it for now........
Thanks all for the comments........
PS, I couldn't click thanks4 papertreeprophet. cause its limited for each day..
when creating the shortcut, at the screen where you can rename the shortcut, click the icon, and it will allow you to choose whatever you'd like.
Instead of placing icons on your homescreen from the app drawer, long-press on the homescreen and go to shortcut, that will let you choose the icon and name. This only works for apps, not folders.

Launcher 7 hmmmm?

hi all
i recently changed from Go launcher EX to Launcher 7
but it's feels so different so i have a few questions with this launcher
1.how do you add apps to the screen properly? the apps icon looks very blur and ugly when i pinned it directly ...is there a way for me to make the icons look better? i heard there is an app called desktop visualiser but i dunno how it works ...
2.Widgets ..is adding widgets to the homescreen possible? i tried before but it dont work and looks odd ..am i doing it wrong?
3. is there a way to add folders to this launcher?
4.where can i have more bitmaps?
thanks all in advance!
-Xperia x8
-all is stock
-Rooted with link2sd
Press and hold tile on home screen, now you can edit it and change icon. There is tons of wp icons on xda.

From the home screen press Menu. You will have an option to add a widget tile from that menu.

No icon pack. Manually for each tile (shortcut) you want to make. There are 1 or 2 main threads about Launcher 7 in xda. Just Google and they will show up. Many icons there.
PS: Launcher 7 is awesome, if you like/love Windows Phone 7 look of course. I don't see the day when I'm back to the typical kind of launchers like stock, ADW, LauncherPro (which I loved for long time) or whatever.

Nova Launchers.. multiple widgets on same position, how to tell which one on top?

Hi, I use Nova Launcher and want to place 2 widgets at the same place (one is just a color.. to be some kind of backround for the actuall widget).
But how to tell Nova which Widget should be on top ? Somehoe the UCW color-only-widget is always on top of the beautyful weather widget :/
Thanks

[KWGT] Pixel Search and Weather Widget

For those who prefer custom Launchers.
I prefer to use Nova instead of Pixel Launcher but persistent Nova search bar is too small on my opinion and doesn't update weather correctly. So I made my own Pixel styled search widget for KWGT.
Widget is fully customizable so you can set it up as you want including all its layers, colour etc.
KWGT Kustom Widget Pro Key is required to load preset!
Download preset from Google Drive
Also if you have Tasker you can launch Google Now Weather using this task:
Code:
Action android.intent.action.VIEW
Cat Default
Data dynact://velour/weather/ProxyActivity
Package com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
Class com.google.android.apps.gsa.velour.DynamicActivityTrampoline
Target Activity

You need to install KWGT and move Google_Pixel_Search_Widget.kwgt into Kustom/widgets folder. Then choose KWGT4x1 widget from your widgets gallery and place it to the screen > "click to setup..." (it opens KWGT app) > Exported tab > Google Pixel Search Widget. That's all.

Ofc you're right. I missed that point - will add requirements.
UPD
Several cosmetic improvements.
How do I get mine to display like yours? Mine doesn't sit right at the side of the screen, and doesn't extend as far to the right.

Try to resize it right after placing into home screen. And also set Layer > Scale to 70.
Was an issue with sizing settings from within the KWGT app settings. Changed to auto resizing and it all looks perfect now.

By default it is set to launch Google News & Weather. So you should install this app or set TOUCH to launch another app, shortcut etc..

And why did you post it here? It has nothing to do with KWGT and btw is not available in some countries.

You can always choose another weather source or try different apps, shortcuts etc. for launching.
I'm using weather.com as a source and google now weather.
Can you please post a link to the wallpaper and icon packs that you used?
This is great!
Do you have any idea how to get it to open a Google search overlay like the Nova widget can?
I googled around and it said to use activity - Google - gsa.queryentry.queryentryactivity which comes close. It opens the overlay but also the app. I would love to faithfully reproduce the native widget so I can use a better weather source. Thanks!
Icon pack name?
Icon pack name?
