FIX:
I was informed that many people got one problem:
"IF YOUR SCREEN before switching off it goes all "wierd and yellow,OR GREEN" TRY TO PICK UP YOUR SETTING NUMBERS: EXAMPLE:
add on manually +4
example:
original is: -50 red
-53 green
-44 blue
+4 it's gonna be like that:
-54 red
-57 green
-48 blue
....add on until the problem goes away!
OR TRY ANOTHER WAY TO FIX: GO TO SETTINGS>DISPLAY>SCREEN TIMEOUT> 15 SECONDS
OR
Screen animation off- in CM Settings
Pretty excellent man. Thanks for this!
wow, thanks! looks great!

IV noticed when doing this and the screen dims just before switching off it goes all wierd and yellow. Also when lowering the screen brightness the same happens..anyone know how to prevent the screen dimming before switching off on miui?
Sent from my Nexus S running MIUI using XDA premium
Fixed it by going to settings-display-advanced and changing screen dim settings to 26....don't see what caused it..

update
Thread update people !!
Thanks. There is definitely a noticeable improvement with your settings for that wallpaper. The difference is also quite noticeable with the third CM wallpaper, blue streaks with little blue Andy. On my particular screen the whites are still a little off for my eye.
I couldn't fix the green screen when turning off the screen by adding -4 to each slider but a solution dinan posted did work. I turned back on screen off animations in CM Setting and that worked. I have all animations turned off in spare parts so I still don't see the screen off animation but checking the screen off animation in CM settings fixed this issue.
Best configuration for me is:
R=-42
G=-45
B=-36
if I go down colors are too overloaded for me...
Great settings
thanks, the settings looks great
enjoy people !
Anyone want to suggest any presets in the RGB Screen multiplier settings to coincide with these settings?

Hey guys,
I've got a brand new HTC Touch Diamond. On certain screens in particular the Contacts, Messaging, SMS or the screen to select the Avatar for farvourite People, there seems to be a colour gradient on the screen in that the right portion of my screen is towards the grey shade wherelse the left portion is whiter in colour. Is this part of the theme or a standard feature or is this a defect on my unit?
The thing is I don't get this issue on the 'Align Screen' screen which has a similar white background, nor do I get this gradient on Program and Settings menus.
Could someone please help me confirm?
Thanks.
Cheers.
*bump*
Pls help???
I called HTC regarding this issue and they told me it's just part of the graphics theme but I'm not entirely convinced though...
Thanks.

You could try taking a screenshot and copy that to your computer. If the gradient appears there then its a part of the graphics in the theme.. But if it does not appear on the screenshot on the pc. then you can consider it as a failure.
I checked contacts (touchflo) -> all people (left softkey), and yeah there's a slight gradient from white to a very very light grey. (Going from left to right)
Thanks so much for the great help guys..... I'll take a screenshot later just to confirm the issue....
A simple test is, go to settings > today,...and change theme to Windows Mobile Default / Green. See if the light grey change to fade blue / green?
I can confirm 99.9% is the theme....
it is normal....
crash74:
Thanks. Yes I've tried that before starting this thread. The gradient does follow the theme colour but I thought it was a backlight issue.. i.e. that portion of the screen not lit properly hence it appears darker regardless of the theme's colour.

then you fire up word mobile, and create a new document.
You should have a full white background......
crash74:
Yes tried that.. I don't get the gradient on white pages such as the 'Align Screen' page, documents, IE, even the b/g of Programs and Settings looks perfect.
So it's safe to assume I don't have to send my unit back for warranty yeah? I just wanted to be sure before sticking my invisibleSHIELD on
btw, what screen/body protector are you using? I might have a spare invisibleSHIELD if you're interested.

That should be the theme issue....
you can try UITweaker,
go to TdyScheme Changer > change all the 4 list(left 1 & 2 + right 1 & 2) color to white...
cheers,...
I tried taking the a few screenshots and yes the gradient is there when viewed from the PC as well although less apparent. But yeah it's definitely the theme then.
When I was on the phone with HTC the girl also advised me to have my phone sent in to be checked... until I asked her "shouldn't you confirm this isn't normal before we proceed further"? lol
So i have been trying to get a black background that is truly black.
everything i have tried has left a slight hue on the background. back 2 black is not supported or i would have tried that.
is there any way to get background to remain off completely and only light the pixels for the icons, clock, notification etc etc. i notice the info bar at the top is darker than my black background and no matter what i cant get the background to go completely black.
my reasoning is if i make the icons into line art, and keep as much of the screen off wherever i can i can stretch battery life even further. it worked wonders on my gs2. But having a slightly glowing background ruins all that.
I'm not sure whether it's supported, but you can try making a monochrome bitmap-file (.bmp) in MsPaint. At least you are sure this way that the black is truly black.
Have you tried using different launchers? Are you sure the hue is not just your icons giving some 'bleeding'?
thanks, i will give that a try.
its the same with go launcher and touchwiz. its actually magnified on the lockscreen showing lots of banding.
Try this pic. I use it on mine and looks black

My first Note did this so I sent it back. My new one does not do it.
still no luck, apps with black backgrounds look fine.
i tried an all black bitmap and that didnt work either.
is there any way to turn background off and just leave it blank? would that give me a pure black background?
like i said i dont think its a hardware problem since the app backgrounds look deep black unlike the wallpaper. i did see something about the note only being 16 bit and that was causing weird display issues due to scaling or something, blah blah.
its using 24bits
thats right, the note is 24 bit and the os operates in 16 bit currently, right? either way i need to find a way to fix it.
I used a plain black GIF. Works fine for the home screen background, but on lock screen it has barely noticeable dark gray lines in it until you touch it and the unlock symbol appears.
here is the one i made
this black is one color 24 bit png on my note it is completely black at any brightness. let me know if it works. 800 x 1280 black correct dpi blackground

or download "no wallpaper" from the market - simple app that just adds a wallpaper that is totally black. Works a treat.
Try an app called COLOURS by Tim Clark
Probably going to get slated for this but...
Is there an anything that can tone down the colours on the screen? Specifically the blues and oranges as i find them too much.
I've lowered the brightness to lower than stock using an app, which helps a lot.
Any app or maybe a theme that reduces the saturation would be great. I've done a search but cant find anything
have you tried Settings Display Screen mode and setting it to Normal or Movie?
Sent from my GT-P6800 using xda premium
Yeah sorry, should have mentioned i have it set on movie as this tones it down compared to the other settings.
Have a look and try...hope this help

2) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bero.tools.screentintadjuster
3) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haxor&hl=en
thanks for those, i have tried two of them already.
It did make me try the contrast on the first one again though and this tones down the colour a bit more and is making it much more acceptable to my eyes.
I'm starting to wonder if the screen is right on my tab, some of the blues look rather purple, like the facebook blue. Also the google.co.uk page the blue looks decidedly purple. Also if i tilt the screen there is a slight blue to it.
Is there an easy way to get rid of the white background screen that Samsung seems to be changing everything to?
I don't like it and would like to set a black background again (dialer, messaging, settings, ect...). The screen is to bright with the white light.
Can this only be achieved through root?

You will just need to have patience and wait another day or two until the twrp custom
recovery gets done, until then why not try to get used to all the white backgrounds. LOL

Check out TeamBlackOut the can help you with a few asps at least.

All we can do is wait until custom recovery and mods start to surface. I hate this white stuff as well, hard on the eyes. When AOSP floats up we won't need this shotty touchwiz stuff :b.
You could also use an Xposed module like wanam. I haven't tested it yet, but theres an option to change many of the system light (and dark) backgrounds. I'll try it.
Hello
I noticed that after installing beta 14, colors are awful, they are not as vibrant as they were before, what can I do to adjust them?
Move back to Stable build or an older beta build because as of OB14 the default color profile will be less vibrant and it's really good and accurate now red are red instead of that old neon colour.
Read the changelog before flashing. The colors are not awful. They are better.
They could have left one of the choices in the screen calibration settings as the original saturation. Something like default, sRGB, vibrant, and custom. I personally liked the vibrant colors, with the deep blacks it really made the AMOLED display pop.
