Voodoo sound for 2.3.2 Gingerbread - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if there will be support upcoming for the Voodoo sound app for Gingerbread?
I really miss the db gain option as I find the volume rather low on the SGS.

[Q] Volume too loud

Quick question...
As the title suggests, my device's lowest volume setting is still too loud if I want to listen to something in the background or want to take a snooze. Is there a way to either add more volume levels or lower the value of the levels? I'm running JPK and it's rooted.
Cheers.
download and install this

it should work with the BETA froyo
Thanks, but I already have Sound Manager installed, which does the same thing as Audio Manager, but has a cleaner interface and more control options. The problem is that neither of them do what I want... the lowest volume is still too loud.
I need to somehow adjust the increment value in code or add more increments to give me finer control.
Did you ever receive an answer on your volume issue. I have a galaxy 4G with the same issue and no one has answers?
Use voodoo control app from market, it adjust the analog amplifier.

Yes voodoo would be the best for you its just amazing....install it and you will love it....it makes your phone to the best mp3-player you can buy for money
Yep, use a kernel with voodoo sound. Or buy Supercurio's app in the market and support his work. The app gives you the option to adjust the analog gain, if the volume is too loud all you have to do is lower the gain and problem solved

Mp3's have terrible sound, you should consider ripping/downloading your music in .flac .

[Q] How to amplify voulme of headphones

Hi, i just upgrade my ROM using Darky's v8.0 Gingerbread Edition...
How to increase the volume even more...
can anyone help me?
my
firmware version-2.3.1
baseband version-I9000XXJPY
kernel version- 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #8
I use a application called louder volume hack and that works a treat for me

Look to add the voodoo sound kernel on top of Darkys. This adds a new low level sound driver to control the built-in headphone amp that is under used in our phones. This is far superior to any other volume boosting app!
To activate it, you need both the kernel and the voodoo sound app from the market. See the bounty thread I the dev board for details of both.
Good luck

[Q] Voodoo Sound on i9000

I am an audiophile wanting the latest sound drivers and software on my i9000. I am using DMORE 3.3 - update 4.
It comes with Voodoo Control v2.1.1
I look on Google Play and see Voodoo Sound v3.1.1 and Voodoo Sound Plus v1.0.3
So I am confused. Then I look on xda:
"Anything related to Sound: features or fix requests. v10: Bass Boost"
- 28/03/2011 : v5.5.3 release: includes Voodoo sound v7

What is going on with these versions? Where does mine fit in?

if you want louder ringtones, you can make them via RINGTONE MAKER, in that you have the option to increase the volume more than the actual song and phones capability

in order to modify (loudness, boost, etc..) each audio file i could also have them exported and remanaged through Audition for instance and then copied back to phone.
but that's not my aim...
Did you tried voodoo sound?

i'm used to voodoo sound + volume+ by meltus.
voodoo sound standalone does not allow any speaker volume hack.
Well, you could rise the amplifier. Also, in Voodoo sound, the option "Tune speaker for music" makes the sound less loud.

which amplifier do you mean?
the thing i can hardly understand is
if there is a routine through which overall volume can be amplified x 20 levels (such in Volume+) -sometimes at cost of crashes or brickings, naturally!-
why is the code not of public domain?

[Q] change sound volume "range"

Hey Guys!
Is there a possibility to change the range for the volume?
So that I can make sound louder/quiter than it would be possible normally.
My IncS IS rooted, so I have permissions to change something!
There are a few apps for it in PlayStore, just search "volume"
I tried a bunch of them, all crap, except dspmanager found around here somewhere. I got a slight increase of the volume and bass and ****, but sadly nowhere near what I wanted.
Strange that it is so hard to tweak this feature on this phone, on my Sensation dsp nearly blasted my eardrums and the siyahkernel works miracle on my galaxy s3 gt-i9300 ...
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
Thx for the answers!
I know DSPManager and all the other apps already...
DSPManager is the best of them, in sound increasing and eq, bass, ..., but its effect isn't really big, when you want to increase volume very much, like Huppen said...
Would it be possible (and more or less easy ), to look in the CyanogenMod repo after DSPManager source and write a own small app? App developing itself isn't that hard and the only 'big' thing is the increasing/decreasing of sound over/under the limits...
