Is there any way at all to get the HTC Clock app into Froyo? Not the widget, just the clock app. I want it because it's so much more full-featured than the default Android clock app.
It's seriously the only thing holding me back from going back to CM6. I loved everything else about Froyo.
Any advice? Or does this fall under the "Sense has not been ported over to Froyo" stance? I just want to know if the HTC Clock apk can just be tweaked to run on Froyo as well, since it's not a widget.
I know Regaw is trying to port sense to 2.2, but I use beautiful widgets and launcher pro plus. I would recommend buying these 2 apps and run CM6.

Indeed, I heard he is trying port as well, but I don't quite care about the Widgets. I still have my copy of Fancy Widget (which was/is free) and I bought a copy of LPP. The only thing is that it doesn't solve my issue, I really really like the clock app from sense. It had not only alarms, but a desk clock function, but a world clock, a stopwatch and even a countdown timer. I use all of those pretty frequently.
Actually, maybe, if you're using Froyo, you can rip the Clock apk from a sense rom and see if it runs in Froyo?
download iclock from amith gc found in market. The only thing it is missing is desk clock. Can't find one that isn't for HTC Sense

Well, I can't . The market is down, At any rate, I'm not looking for a widget, I have Fancy Widget, which looks exactly like the HTC Sense Clock Widget, and even let's me configure the tap zones (like saying, tap the clock and launch the clock application).
Problem is, I want that same clock app in Froyo, because then, I can finally leave Sense UI behind.
I too have been looking for the sense clock. I really liked the timer/stop watch it had. I used it all the time. I tried to find the .apk from other sense roms but everything I tried gave me errors and would not run. Some of the .apk's wouldn't install at all. I'm guessing they would have to be ported some how and thats way over my head.

I'm also very interested with this. I totally prefer the HTC Clock over the standard android clock. Timer and stopwatch is a must for me.
im pretty sure the SENSE clock has different framework then the stock android. i could be wrong but yes you would have to use an app to get it.
There's an app 'Stopwatch & Timer' that seems to work fine. I know not everyone wants separate apps but I don't even get cake, let alone the opportunity to eat it too.

HTC clock will not work on cm6, as it is built on the sense framework and cm6 is AOSP. About the best you'll get is fancy widget, though, beautiful widgets is a fine replacement. Sadly, nothing that I've found has all of the functionality of the sense clock. :-(

Sense Clock
If anyone figures this out I want it too. I've been scouring the web for hours since I rooted my phone trying to find the desk clock/world clock/ stop watch/timer/alarm clock...I can't believe no one else has come up with a way to put all of those together in one app...
Good day,
I've been using WidgetLocker but i still haven't found a Five-Point Lockscreen to be used with it.
Is it possible? Or WL do not support such lockscreen?
No WL does not support it as unlock slider.
You can make a widget though.

What a shame.
The widget idea sounds fair, although I'm not capable of making a widget out of a five-point lock
Thank you for the answer.
Is there a widget like that to be found, or it would have to be developed?
Would it be possible to make a Pandora widget like the music lockscreen widget? Or make it where the stoke lockscreen widget also controls Pandora?

I'm pretty sure something like Widget Locker from the market should allow you to place the pandora widget on your lock screen. Not exactly what you're looking for, but it's about as close as you'll get I think.
This is not exactly what you want, but if Pandora is running while the Vivid is locked, you can pull down the notification bar (at least with ICS/Sense 3.6) and access the running Pandora app
Also, you might consider replacing one of the default apps in the bottom app bar with the Pandora app shortcut. Those four apps, whatever they are, will show on the lock screen.
Of course, I believe you want to see the full screen app like the music player shows when locked.
Yea I use notification bar and have the quick unlock set with Pandora lol but was hoping to have the fullscreen widget like the music one, I guess I'm just getting too lazy

This is my second Android app. I develop this little app because I prefer 3rd party launcher (e.g. Apex) than existing Sense 4 Rosie. Existing hacked Sense 4 Rosie (full version) currently doesn't support non Sense widget correctly and is less feature-rich than many other launchers.
Even if you install a 3rd party launcher, Rosie still consume your precious memory as a system service. But if you freeze Rosie and thus release it from memory, you'll lose your lockscreen app shortcuts. After painstakingly reviewing the codes in HTC shortcut components, I found that Rosie actually act as a content provider to supply information of its launcher bar shortcuts to lockscreen. So without Rosie, lockscreen has no information to construct its shortcuts. Therefore I wrote this little app to replace the role of Rosie as the content provider. What's more, it allows you to select your own apps with a simple config screen and store the data separately. And it doesn't stay in the memory permanently.
Installation instructions:
Uninstall Rosie (Freezing doesn't work because Android doesn't allow two content providers of same type) ** You're reminded to make a backup first **
Install HTC Lockscreen Shortcut Provider
Run Lockscreen Shortcuts
Select your app for the 4 shortcuts
Hit back to save settings and notify HTC lockscreen

Limitations
You have to reboot the phone to allow lockscreen to load your app shortcuts. I'm still trying to figure out the way to notify HTC lockscreen for any changes. (If you know anything about this please PM me)

1.1 just posted. No reboot is required now!
I've loaded in Apex, and now wish to uninstall Rosie. Can you advise how to do this? Which programs to remove and where do you go to do that?

Just use Titanium Backup to backup and uninstall Rosie. You can also delete the Rosie.apk in the /system/app/ folder in Recovery by brute force.
Many thanks for that. I haven't got titanium. I might go hard and fast. Just go into the app folder and delete. I've got a full backup, so if worst happens I just restore.

I'm having problems loading your program. Being a zip I guess you load it through recovery but I get an error every time I try.
Edit
I just reloaded and then hit view (I've never seen that option before) and it's there! Now to try it.

I don't understand your problem. My app is a standard Android APK file which can be sideloaded with any file manager. You should not flash it through recovery.
Sorry. It must be the way it down loaded. 2nd time round it installed without a problem. It works great.
I've had a bit of a play and the unlock options are there. I'm not sure I gained as much free memory as I hoped but any gain is better than none. And I really am not a fan of Sense so any chance to thin it out is good.

Very cool man, thanks for creating this and sharing it!
Edit: I can confirm your app works on Sense 3.6. I uninstalled Rosie and used Apex launcher as a replacement and your app allows me to successfully choose the lockscreen shortcuts. Great work :good:

I got reports from other users that on Sense 3.6, if you use the lockscreen shortcut to unlock your phone, the phone will be unlocked but the app is not launched. Can you confirm if it's really working?

Damn I never even thought of testing that, my bad. You're right, it shows the app but doesn't launch it.

LOL, never mind. At least I know the problem is consistent in Sense 4A. I'll work on that. :good:
Today I did some testing on various Sense versions and would like to let you know my findings:
Hybrid 4A (e.g. UKB X on IncS) - OK
Sense 4.1 (e.g. ViperX on One X) - OK
Sense 4A (e.g. UKB V on IncS) - No shortcuts in lockscreen
Sense 3.6 (e.g. ARHD on IncS) - Lockscreen shortcuts appears and update correctly but shortcut app cannot be launched when unlock
At this moment, my first priority is to support Sense 3.6. After that I'll work on 4A.
Just posted 1.2. Now supports Sense 3.6.
Posted 1.2.1. Fixed FC introduced in 1.2.

Best bet would be getting the stock samsung weather working.. You wont require a internet connection on your gear by doing it this way..
Accuweather....apk & WeatherDaemon.apk are needed on your phone for Samsung weather to work. Refer HERE for more info.
You can then use samsungs stock weather widget for custom text widgets, this is more a advanced user method tho.

The thing that annoys me about Samsung's stock accuweather which the gear seems dependent on unless you tether it to the internet is that it requires you to be outside with GPS on for any updates to show as far as weather, temperature, ect... At least that's what I determined on my setup and I looked everywhere in the widget's settings ect... on the phone for a way to change that and can't.
Need Help locating app
Can anyone tell me what this app/widget/lockscreen is? This is a screenshot from a youtube video, but its exactly what i'm looking for. bit.ly/2FQsXbf
