[Q] CyanogenMod Help (Nook Newb) - Nook Color General

I got a Nook Color as a gift. I rooted it with Auto Nooter after updating to BN 1.1
I decided After playing with that set up for awhile I would try to install Gingerbread.
I followed the directions and installed cm_encore_full-27.zip
I would go to the Cyanogen(mod) droid screen then as soon as the page load i get the error. com.Android.setupwizard stopped unexpectedly. with a Force Close button.
It doesn't matter which button I push it reboots.
I have tried cm_encore_full-28.zip with the same results.
I forced shutdown numerous times. I have reinstalled a bunch of times.
Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated. Thank You very much.
OK I solved my own problem. I used Googleaps from here and it worked!! ---->ttp://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps

[Q] Reboot 8x - Software Update Loop

Hi guys! Loving the autonooter - awesome work! I successfully rooted and am loving a 1.0.1 NC.
But, I tried to do the same for a friend with the same SD card with the 1.0.1 version of autonooter, stuck it in without thinking - and it turns out he had 1.0.0. I tried to reset the device - first with the power+volume+N - but this left softkeys on there and no way to uninstall it. So, I did the 8x reboot deal and it started doing the rom flash: "New updates are being installed. This may take a few minutes." All looked good...
Except it rebooted right back to the install screen again. And keeps doing so. I read a post from someone who had this problem and theirs snapped out of it. This NC doesn't seem to want to
Any help would be really appreciated
You might try making an sdcard with the autonooter for 1.0.0 on it and then sticking that in the NC. Then plug in the usb cable and see if it will boot with that. Wait and then follow the directions for the 12.15 autonooter (isn't that the one for 1.0.0?).
I just read a post about someone getting out of a tough boot loop by making a Nookie Froyo card and booting that. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10358375#post10358375
Good luck.
Thanks! I did try the -15 (1.0.0 autonooter) ...but it seems to just get stuck at a black screen (waited ~15-20min).
The Nookie Froyo card might be a good bet if I can't get it to work with the putty.exe boot fix...I just realized that's based off a nooter0.2 card so I made one. Here goes nothing!
Thanks for the input though, I really appreciate it - I'd hate to brick my friend's NC.
*Update* nooter0.2 and putty.exe didn't work - getting a "network connection timed out" error
Going to try the Nookie Froyo 0.5.6 card *crosses fingers*
Success!!
Using Froyo on the card allowed ADB access - from there, reset the boot counter. Powered off the NC, powered it back on - install screen came up again, so a little worried loop would continue - *sigh of relief* Barnes and Noble name popped up.
Back to stock! And now updating to root Thank you thank you!
Hi tarheeldan,
I think i am having similar problem as you did before. Could you elaborate a bit more, so i could follow your steps. I am not very good with ADB comment. After making Froyo Card, What's do you need to do. Thank you for the help.

Stuck on Registering after Unrooting

hi everyone. i've been following the forum here for awhile and finally decided to root my brand new NC. i autorooted from 1.1. i saw some things weren't working so i quickly decided to unroot back to factory settings. i unrooted by unregistering the device and turning off the power 8 times. my NC boots up fine, but it gets stuck on the "Registering your Device" page and just remains there with the circle spinning. i think i left it there for more than 30 minutes and nothing happens. has anyone experienced this before? if so, how did you fix it? any help would be appreciated.
sorry if this topic has already been asked - i tried searching but didn't find anything on this specific issue. if there's already a thread, please feel free to share the link with me. thank you!
EDIT: really need some help here... i tried to fix it myself (i know i shouldn't have) and might have made it even worse. i tried to re-autoroot my NC but just completely failed. it was not loading anything anymore, so i tried to unroot again by powering off 8 times. when i restarted, everything looked normal, except the bootloader screen was not stock. it brought me back through the normal tutorial and same thing with it getting stuck on "registering your device". could someone please provide a thorough walkthrough on how to reset to factory settings? i'm seeing all these threads throwing around all these acronyms that i don't understand. seems like i need to try running some clockwork rom but not even sure how to do that. please help!!
Bump, i have just encountered this problem and i need help as well.
Update:
actually just figured it out and heres what fixed my problem, i wasn't doing the factory reset part only the 8 reboot interruptions.

Thanks for your post, even though no one ever helped. I was having the same problem and doing a clear data/factory reset from Clockwork Recover booted from an SD card did the trick for me.

Market not working on HCv04

I have been trying to get my NC to work properly for the past few hours. My main problem is that every time that I try to install an app from the market, it tells me "The app will be downloaded" and then it does not install it. All it does is add it to the "My Apps" list, but instead of saying installed it just says "Free".
It worked at the first few minutes and I have managed to install a few apps before this phenomena has started.
I have tried reinstalling HC v04 a couple of times and the same has happened.
I have also tried to install Market 2.2.11 as recommended in the tutorial with the same result(first working then not so much).
I have looked all over the googles and the forums and have tried everything I could figure out. Can anyone please help me to resolve this?

[Question]Phiremod V5 Android.media.process error

Hello everyone. First post here and while I have tinkered with many things Android related I am still a relative noob. I recently flashed Phiremod V5 and followed all the steps to the letter.
Everything works great until I try and restore some of my apps with Titanium Backup. As soon as I do this I start to get this message when accessing the Market.
"The process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I then get the same message about every 30 seconds. I tried to fix permissions with Rom Manager and after it gets through that process and I reboot it hangs at the Bee logo during boot up.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? You help is greatly appreciated.

[Q] Process stopped: com.android.phone

Hello Everyone, first post after several hours of research and first attempt to root and flash a device.
A little about the device, it is a Kindle Fire (non-HD)
I did a factory reset on the device before doing anything.
I followed the instruction i found on this forum to install Kindle Fire Utility 9.6
Following this, I downloaded and installed, JB-AOKP_otter_unofficial_Oct-17-12.
I followed this install with: gapps-jb-2012-0726-signed
Everything was going great. All of the sudden I got a pop-up stating Process com.android.phone has stopped. As fast as I press "OK" it returned.
The only resolution I have been able to get is to force the tablet back into TWRP and restore it, as once it appears there is no way around it.
has anyone encountered this issue and found a solution?
Thanks in advance, I am new to rooting (first shot ever) and eager to learn what I can about it.
Adam
Good morning,
As a follow up, I tried to re-install the Android system. Somehow I managed to delete too much by way of wiping the system and basically locked the KF up until I was able to mount it as a USB drive. I placed the OS file back in the directory (the original KF software was gone). I reloaded the OS and seemingly it works correctly.
Up to this point I have not had the error return, so the only real change was the complete removal of the KF software. The unfortunate part, is if I were to ever want to sell the KF I have no way to return it to stock, Atleast not that I have figured out yet.
Now on to searching for a volume control, that is easy to use....
