After seeing some photos of the AT&T logo as the Death Star, I decided to make a boot animation to encompass the idea. I found a video on youtube of the Death Star testing its powers. I edited the Death Star to have the AT&T rings around it, and made the planet pink to represent T-mobile. This is a landscape boot, uses the whole screen.
Please read. I am not responsible for your phone or your illiteracy. Also this is setup for 480x800 px. If you have different, you can change the output size in the desc.txt
FLASHABLE VERSION PUTS THE BOOTANIMATION.ZIP IN /SYSTEM/MEDIA

I have 2 ways of putting it on your phone;
1: Non Flashable - Drop in system/media (or where ever your bootanimation.zip is located) and set permissions to look like this with root explorer
2. Flashable - Put on the root of your SD and boot into clock work recovery and choose flash zip from SD.

Nice bootanimation , i don't have AT&T but it's stil nice bootanimation
Soooooooo...... if you're bored this weekend, why not just remove the AT & T stuff at the end
Not going to be board at all. Just go into the zip and delete the part1 folder, then delete the last line of the desc.txt.

Hi there, the petitdroid animation is stretched because the size in "desc.txt" is set to 480x800, it should be 320x480. I attached a modified file.
I had troubles installing it as a ROM, so I just included the file bootanimation_petitdorid.zip which contains the animation itself. It has to be reanmed to bootanimation.zip and placed into /data/local, root needed.
Carnival Booth
Here is a boot animation I made: Carnival Booth // xda-developers.com
Please comment if this works (or not) for your device, and how you like it. I will add more versions when requested.
Shouldn't this have been posted under "themes"... Sinse it really has nothing directly to do with developing..?

I haven't played around with creating flashable zips before. I've thought about doing some kind of app that would download the boot animation right into place.
Have you ever thought of teaming up with UOT kitchen? Their boot images are placed in a flashable zip.
thanks,nice animations,downloading it jumpgate
scribble looks nice! gonna try it out thanks for sharing!
fantastic!!! Jumpgate and Clocknightmare...Very thx!!!
Looks nice! Thanks for sharing
Scribble Ray and Spout seems to be perfect for Oxygen 2.0.1 *Gingerbread* Rom of AdamG
Awesome work, thanks and keep working for inspiration of others
Hello,
Will these bootanimations work with an HD2 running Android?
I don't see a resolution, are they greater the 400X800?

these are all incredible
great job~~thx a lot~~~
This is a collection of boot animations that I have made. Lots of thanks to JaeKar99 for talking me through this.
Check back often as I will update this with more animations from time to time.
Note: Only custom kernels will run a custom boot image.
Directions for Install:
1) Download file to your SD Card.
2) Rename the file to bootanimation.zip or sanim.zip depending on your kernel.
3) Move the file to system/media or data/local (if there is already a file there by that name you can either rename it to if you want to keep your current boot, or delete it.
4) Reboot and Enjoy
5) PROFIT (Just thank me)

Gingerbread men.... Heeh. Nice job on these!
any interest/potential to make this gif into a bootanimation? I am unsure how to, or I'd just do it. Perfect would be colors inverted IMO.
http://i.imgur.com/klbzt.gif
I could probably do it, but it is a long gif. I would have to either cut down the length or reduce the number of frames/sec. If I reduce the f/sec the images would go by too fast. If I cut it down, you would have to tell me where. 10 seconds is about the average boot time, so I try to keep them under that.
Good lord, all your base...you sir have won Android.
I'm glad you found the humor. I couldn't believe nobody had done it yet.
A new one based of the Lions Gate Intro:
Download:LionsGate
Heres one I put together based on some PCB Walpaper.
Download:PCB
If you have downloaded this prior to 8:00am 4/7 please download again as I upped the FPS to make the video smoother (however it shortens the sequence)
FYI- All boot images over 4megs will NOT loop in ICS. If they are under 4 megs they will.
I downloaded a Z2 bootanimation (the one with sound) and I just wanted to make it look, well, "newer" with the "Powered by Android" logo

The modified images won't show up in the animation and even sometimes the bootanimation doesn't work at all! I'm attaching the bootanimation that just skips the files from the picture
black: image 00001
generic1: image 00000
This is a flashable .zip of the FAILED animation: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ter8j47127w6rh9/PoweredByAndroidFAILED.zip
These are the 2 .jpgs I'm using: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ludpeb7zpyfem5q/PoweredByAndroidImages.zip
The first is smaller at 540x960
What I'm missing here? Is Kit Kat that different from ICS or JB? How can I solve this mistery?
Request: Someone make it work plz

Use tools to create animation - it's easier.
You have bootanimation maker - Google it.
And, no, it's still same animation..
I build animation this way...
1. Create video sequence in Adobe Aftereffects
2. Convert video to png files
3. Use batch renamer to rename all files (1-1000, it's easier to work that way)
4. Decide what you need for loop
5 Separate loop and main anaimation in "1" i "0" folders
6. Start bootanimation factory or creator and build animation in zip format

If you are just replacing the files in the .zip make sure you store them with the storage option (i.e. no compression) otherwise it does not work.
Way back when, I had a Nexus S. This is an image of a favorite boot animation that I used:

I have recreated the boot animation, and scaled it for the Nexus 6P (i.e., 1440x2560).
The original by Xen_0s is here.
Just copy the attachment to /system/media/bootanimation.zip. You should probably set permissions to 644 as well. (Note: The attachment is not flashable.)
Great work. Thanks. Looks very nice on the 6P.
There is a bit of lag when the inner light hits about 2 o'clock. Other than that, very fluid.

Noted. The same 'flaw' is in the original boot animation. I've contacted Xen_0s to see if he still has the original graphics so that this can be fixed.

Thanks for sharing, this is a pretty cool ani.
Do you know if you can add a boot sound?
I'm used to Samsung and you could add a sound to PowerOn.ogg.

I believe this will work:
1. Download attachment and unzip it.
2. Put bootanimation.zip and PowerOn.ogg in /system/media.
3. Set permissions for both to 644 (rw-r--r--).
If that doesn't work, you'll need to research how to fix it yourself. (This is not really my forte. Just sharing what little I know.) You can unzip bootanimation.zip, edit the desc.txt file as needed, and then zip it up again with this command:
zip -rn .txt:.png bootanimation.zip desc.txt part0/*
Good luck
