Below is a format that is a guideline to be used as an example of how a rom thread should look. It doesn't have to be exact. I suggest that you stay creative and use all the features in the advanced panel when creating a thread.
Name of rom, team, etc
Introduction
Changelog in code or list tags
What's included in the rom in the (apps, tweaks, scripts, addons, mods) in code or list tags
What works/what doesn't work in code or php tags
Credits (Users name-with link to (profile/github/or thread u got tweak from embedded), and what they did to help you)
Screenshots (2-10 different screenshots of different aspects of rom)
Kernel with either link to thread you got it from or github (if stock sense or cm please state that and that is enough)
Instructions on how to install the rom (also if special instruction for a2sd or beats audio...etc)
Do's and Don'ts of the rom
Questions & Answers section (I find this helpful to write out asked questions with solutions at the bottom of the op. I find that it cuts down on the question being asked a million times)
Finally the dl link
Additional add-ons (this can go into first post or reserved posts after)
I find the embedded link looks and feels better throughout the op if possible.
All sections should have a header with enlarged text and spaced out so people can read it easily.
I am hoping that this helps to make this section a little cleaner and easier. enjoy
The way I look at this is that it takes you weeks/days/hours to make these roms....we can take the time out to make sure that the op looks professional and clean
Not to toot my own horn but here is a link to one of my own rom threads as an example. Link
Also Make sure the op is fully ready before posting. I know we all get excited to release a rom but stating that half the stuff will be updated as time permits just shows that you are lazy and in a hurry which doesn't look good cause if thats the case then how does your rom run....
No posting a a rom thread without a DL link either. If posted then the thread will be removed
Thread title format
Just to add to Papa Smurf151's post, when posting something, please use this format for the title:
[What it is][last updated][Version+stable/test/beta/wip/etc]Name of rom/kernel/etc
For example:
[ROM] [15nov12] [4.3.1BETA] TheBestestKangedROMEver
This is the Nexus 4 ParanoidAndroid Dropbox folder.
It is intended for the Nexus 4 only.
PM me for an invite with your dropbox email with ParanoidAndroid MAKO dropbox folder as title and email address on a single line. Any other comments/thanks/messages starting on the next line.
Here are the rules :
- Do not delete files
- Do not share the link
- Keep things in order
- Do not add any link to this folder in your sig. Only mention the thread.
- Two versions of PA will be kept correctly stored in a folder with the corresponding fixes (if any)
- Minor updates will be kept in the same folder (e.g. 2.99.7 and 2.99.71 if any are to be kept in the same folder) - this is done to prevent mix-ups
- Add minor number to version if there's more than one release with the same number (so we can follow what's going on) even if developers didn't do it (e.g. pa_mako-2.99.71-15DEC2012-174921) we'll fix it up if developpers release their own minor. (e.g. if a 2.99.7 is released two times and a 2.99.71 is released, there will be a 2.99.705)
- When a new version comes up, one will be erased (e.g. betaNINE = betaSEVEN folder removed)
- Do not add anything else than PA without authorization and if you do, please do it the correct way (in a folder named according to the PA thread OP)
Thank you very much and have a good time with PA
Mirrors belong in the PA thread and don't need a new thread to invite people. Nice thought but Dropbox isn't good with a high volume of people sharing a folder either.
Anyway thread closed.
RULES1. Read the OP fully.
2. For bug reports, I need a log to assess the issue. Capture a log while replicating the issue.
3. Do not ask ETA's on updates; you will be ignored.
4. Use the "search this thread" feature to make sure your question wasn't already answered by using key words.
5. Only ask a question about this project. Any questions about another ROM or project will be disregarded.
6. If you dont like my ROM then too bad.
7. You want 100% untouched/unmodified AOSP. This isn't the ROM for you.
8. AOKP is open source. so you can always build it yourself.
Instructions:Download ROM .zip file

Thread reopened to allow OP to add sources, credits and add more detail regarding the "essence" of this ROM...
It's mostly kernel optimization with a little bit of rom tweaking to make it smoother, when I get time I will sit down and go over the commits that I think are worth telling people about if that makes you feel more comfortable sir.

This thread started out rather poorly and has been cleaned. I'm going to leave the thread open for now so that the OP can update the first post as @LenAsh requested and so that members can help with testing and troubleshooting. I am subscribing to this thread to encourage members to be on their best behavior. Instead of arguing in a thread and posting PMs publicly in a thread, please report the offending posts / PM and let a moderator handle it.
To the OP:
First off, welcome to XDA. We are glad you decided to post a ROM here. A few things:
You are required to post the following. If you do not within the next few days, I will need to close the thread and remove the download links:
1. Kernel source: You mention "kernel optimizations" so you need to upload your source code to Github. If you used a kernel without any changes, then please link to the thread of that kernel.
2. Credits: Link to AOKP at least to give them credit for the base. Also credit for any tweaks you found here that you included.
Suggested things to post. Although these are not required, most threads have them and members expect them so they know what they are flashing (I personally wouldn't flash a ROM without these).:
1. Feature list: what this ROM has that makes it special. You made changes that you liked - what were they?
2. Screenshots
3. Changelog: when you have one since this is the initial release
For more help on what's expected for ROM OPs, please look at these guidelines.
I don't want to close the thread. In fact, I like to encourage people to develop on here. So, please at least post kernel source and credits to keep the thread open. The other stuff is gravy and can be done as you get time or your thread maintainer you mentioned gets to it.
Hope the OP is adjusted according to XDA rules. i'm going to kick things off by flashing and testing this ROM. i'll check for any kind of malware/spyware (crash-test-dummy). Keep your fingers crossed.

I wouldn't be holding my breath on the OP providing the info requested by @coal686. I see he's been active around the place, but this mustn't be a priority.
Out of interest, did you flash the ROM, and if you did, how did it go?
OP has stated that he is not going to update the thread to give credits (kernel source is in the download tab), so thread closed and download link removed until he changes his mind.

Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for ★[ROM] [STOCK] N910TUVU1ANJ7 | 4.4.4 | Deodexed | CIQ Free | KNOX Free | 10.23.2014 ☆. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Let just make sure I understand correctly. If I use TWRP to flash this rom it will require a data wipe? I will lose all my themes and installed apps? Also, I saw on the list of features it says "Data/app support". Does that mean that the unlimited tethering has been addressed with this rom?
Thanks for answering my annoying questions guys. I appreciate.
I have flashed this ROM twice. It seems that that finger print sensor is not working. Evey time i try to sent a finger print as the lock screen i get the error:
"An error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor. If this message appears repeatedly , restart your device."
Any one else experiencing this?

I always do a wipe before i install a new ROM. Ease of mind that things wont be left behind that should not be. If you wipe you should loose themes and installed apps.

You do have to do a wipe to install/flash new ROMs... However, upon successfully flashing/installing TWRP, the first thing you should do is a FULL SYSTEM/DATA/APP backup, so that you can restore your device to it's prior state if need be... Also, now that you are rooted, you can download Titanium Backup for your device (from the Play Store) to create system and app/app-data backups for future install on various devices/ROMs/etc... I would do that before flashing anything new, if you plan to retain system/app data, as well as a MUCH easier way to restore apps... Let me know if you have further questions or concerns... Hope this helps!!
P.S. Not sure about tethering issues on this ROM yet, as I am waiting a bit before flashing (to work out any discovered anomalies and such)... The poster after you also says there MAY be an issue with fingerprint scanner?? May want to look back to OP thread to see if this has been addressed/solved somehow, if that is relative to your device-usage/functionality...

Once again, Thank you! I will probably wait for a little while before I flash the different rom on there myself. I just spent 2 or 3 hours setting up my phone just the way I want it to be. I don't want to wipe it just yet.

No Problem!! Probably a wise choice to "wait and see", plus, you can always download a more stable version (if there is one) when you are ready - and have read up on how everyone is doing with this build up to that point...
I would seriously recommend taking a look at Titanium Backup though... Especially if you are the type to want to keep things a certain way, or not have to start from scratch whenever you want to try a new ROM/Device/etc... It allows you to keep all of your system data, apps/versions, and app data to bring with you from device to device, and ROM to ROm... It is a great utility that saves you in SOOOOO many ways... People root their devices SOLELY for this app!!! I am telling you it is a lifesaver, if you haven't already discovered it, that is... Let me know if you have any questions moving forward, and if I can help, I will!! Good Luck!! :good:
I've got yet ANOTHER question.
If I installed this, would this work around the "USB Tethering" check that Tmobile apparently requires when you choose to USB Tether?

While browsing the system > app folder I found an apk of whatsApp but it doesn't show up on like titanium backup as installed so I was wondering why it was there? And if not needed can I just delete it?
Also taken from the main thread all my posts hopefully somebody can help now cause I was ignored before lol...
I don't know if anybody else is running into this problem but it seems like every time I turn my device off and on again my apps in the app screen are removed from their folders
Edit: it seems like my rebooting app is messing it up (Quick Boot)
With quick boot I moved some icons into a folder then used the app to reboot and then coming back they was out of there folder again
I tried again with the device power button reboot and they stay in there folder
So not sure why the app is doing this I will contact the Dev for that app
Edit 2: yeah seems like using the power button to restart/reboot saves everything and then when I tried the quick boot app everything was saved and was in the same place
Edit 3: It seems like all rebooting apps will remove apps in their folders but will leave the folder still made forgot to say that last time cause I just tried another rebooting app and it is doing the same thing... not sure is my rom messed up? Or the apps?

I can't get over how anyone could type an entire OP that large, capitalize every word, and not manage to have any typos. Can't deny the attention to detail...
Well still nothing on my other problems... but now I have another question every once In awhile I get an alert to install Knox does anybody know what is causing this? I thought the Samsung store was causing this but I have all the alerts turned off?
