I cooked a boot animation with TUX falling from the top inside and Android.
Two versions, one with the Android Logo, one without it.
This is the video of the PNG sequence of the version with the Android Logo.
This is the video of the PNG sequence of the version without the Android Logo.
Files can be found on my blog here.
Remember to rename it bootanimation.zip or you will get a nice blank screen.
If you want to add/remove/edit something, go for it: I don’t care.
So far, the glowing Android is in part1 to get a loop.
All comments welcome.

Heres one I did. It's animated but it goes so fast you practically miss it anyway...
Couldn't get a gif preview up.
I got a few more I made but I wanted to share this one. A good universal shutdown sequence.
Also just for reference, it seems the png's can so far be anything under a png 24.
I love the Android Scribble boot animations that GLa'DOS put together here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696193
I decided to create an "un-scribble" shutdown animation which is basically his work in reverse. I had to cut several "frames" to get it down to 26 images but it looks pretty good. It's attached as Scribble_shutdown.zip.

Here is an i, robot shutdown sequence i made. I wish the picture was a little clear but it works.
Can i use the same animation for the Shotdown as for the Startsup?
I mean that both 26 png's
Would be nice to know that
Thank God for custom shutdown animations. Oh if anyone is looking for tutorial on how to do it check: http://www.phonebuff.com/2011/06/change-shutdown-animation-for-android/

The newest ROMs do not use this file format. They are utilizing the *.qmg files - not hackable. If you roll back to Froyo or Eclair you can use this type of shutdown.
I have a problem
Hi guys

What is the correct file type and how can i replace it?
Hey guys,
when I was using ARHD I used the BIOS bootanimation from gimj01's thread who in turn had modified the one from frysee's thread.
I modified it for CleanDHD because I really like it (both the bootup and the ROM), and figured I'd share if anyone's interested.
I changed a few things, among those the ROM name and CPU speed (1516 MHz) and copyright notices from 2010 to 2011. All references to Android 2.2 have been changed to 2.3.
I've also made the last (static) frame loop indefinitely until boot is finished, so the screen shouldn't go black before boot-up is done, no matter how long it takes. If you feel the part before the logo is too fast or something, just let me know, or change it yourself. I like it at this speed anyway.
All you need to do is copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media. You can push it or copy it with a file explorer, remember to mount r/w. If you want to play back the animation without rebooting, you can "adb shell bootanimation" and it'll start. Ctrl+C to end.
Hope you like it.
Thank you kindly.
Hey everyone,
Just made my first boot animation, thought I would share it with you guys.
I just used the 8-Bit Ice Cream Android from ICS's easter egg (If you don't know already, go into Settings > About Tablet and repeatedly press on the 'Android Version'. Then hold down the 8-Bit Android that comes up on the screen, and see what happens!
Anyway, back to the actual boot animation. It's nothing fancy being my first boot animation, but hey it's alright. Here is the preview of the 8-Bit Jumping ICS Android (Sorry I can't show it directly in this post, This is my first post!)
PREVIEW:
i44(DOT)tinypic(DOT)com/2qxc9px(DOT)gif
(Replace the (DOT) with a . obviously XD)
To install it (No root required):
Download the attached file 'bootanimation.zip' and copy it to /data/local/ on your XOOM – but be sure to take a backup of your default boot animation just in case from system/media.
That's pretty much it, reboot and enjoy your new 8-Bit Jumping Android!
Hi, I would like some help with changing first boot logo that I understand is in the kernel, also I would like to know how do you change the animation when you reboot or shut down your phone, if some other phones have similar, same instructions I would like to know which phones or just pointing me the right direction would be much appriciated. Because I have seen quite few threads around the net about similar things, but they are not for XZ.
If this helps - im running
C6603 with Unlocked bootloader
Boot Splash Logo Is in the kernel! (That big Sony Logo appear on first screen) for modify you need linux as you need to modify ramdisk and you need to create a raw file for your device, for boot animation (which will apear second and is that flying colorful) is in the /system/media/bootanimation.zip as Jpeg sequence it can be easily modify and you can put it back afterward just don't forget to look at the text file in it and also don't forget to rw-r--r-- permission after you put modified bootanimation back. (there's bunch of tools and tutorials about this one) good luck

I know about, the second boot animation, but I need a full tut about the 1st boot logo, and linux is not a problem, but what about restarting and shutting down animation?
Hi guys
You may remeber the bootanimation from Motorola dualcore phones (Atrix 4G, Razr series). Some of you may love the simple waves that radiate from the red logo with white icon M. I love it so much. So, I decided to remake it for my white-bamboo X Style.
The original bootanimation has the black background. I changed it to white, replaced the red-white logo with black-white one, resized the image from 840x960 to 1440x2560. I made no change to radiate waves animation. "Vietnamese Motorola Community" was also added. If you know a bit about graphic software, you can extract the images and remove that text. Then using Winrar to make the zip file with compression mode set to Store. Name the zip file "bootanimation.zip" and replace one in /system/media (remember to backup the original one). Reboot and enjoy. Of course your phone had been rooted before. Tada. If fails, don't worry. Your phone will boot with a black screen instead of bootanimation. Using the original one and inform me the problem.
Thanks Motorola for the great bootanimation.
