kind of new to the android platform is there a way or app i can setup so that when i get a text message saying i have a voicemail, i can setup a certain notification from that number? Like for instance on my phone i have different notifications that say "Email Recieved" "Text Message recieved" can i tie a notificatin that says "Voicemail recieved" to the text message number that tells me there is a voicemail?

If you install Google voice app I think it gives you a notification... for me .. it sends me an email, a text message and the google voice app notifies me
Kind of redundant but well is cool

yep the google voice app works REALLY well on these phones and does provide notifications for google voice events. it also gives you the option so that when you make an outgoing call it asks you if you wanna use google voice or regular number which comes in handy. Highly recommended that you download it if you have GV
I have it installed but i figured i could just shut off the freq check by google voice to some high number so it doesnt affect the battery. And just set a notification for the text message i get.

I went to google.com/voice from my computer and from there you can turn off the email and text notifications so that you only get a notification from the google voice app.

It's not just spanish. My english translations are mindboggling, to say the least. This was one from the HR director from a cell phone company, calling re: a job offer they put out to me.

great idea to start this thread. installed gv and all setup. regarding the notifications: set gv to notify via SMS 'cause don't want an email. From a battery perspective and quickest notification is it best to let the notification only come to gv app or is SMS quicker? Just want one notifcation as soon as there's a message. Thxs

I have been searching quite a bit with little luck. There is an application for an SMS notifier and an email notifier (only available for gmail).
But is there an application out there that has remind-it-all?
I am coming from WM, and I loved having the appointments pop up and being able to dismiss or snooze them and be able to be reminded of them multiple times if I don't actually hear/feel the reminder go off.
Is anyone interested to build such an application? I would gratefully donate!

I installed it, but it seems it creates widgets, but doesn't display the counts in the notification bar

Hey I'm using chroma ROM textra and google gmail app, I made a simple uccw skin to post SMS missed calls and email. The missed calls posts but SMS and email doesnt . just want some feed back before I use tasker to set variables for it
Someone knows how to assign a custom tone at the SMS (text messages) ?
I use the app Google Android Message, not the Huawei one.
I see you can choose a system tone that will be used also for e-mails, calendar and SMS notifications, but I need to assign a specific tone ONLY for SMS.
Some hints ?

Thanks for the answer, but I use the app Google Android Message, not the one of Huawei app and there I did not find he possibility to assign a special tone...
