[Q] BackLightNotification for LG Optimus 2X possible? - LG Optimus 2x

Is it possible to get the BackLightNotification mod for i9000 to o2x?
Or do we need the kernelsource?

will NoLED work with Optimus 2X or is it only for i9000/Nexus S? would be nice if it worked

noled would work but drain the battery as 2X does not have amoled and thus does use full power lighting the screen. there was a post on the forum already.

NoLED works very bad on o2x due to LCD... doesn't look good at all and drains battery

damn then I'm out of options :/ damn those who don't use any form of LED notification...

Someone get this working!! Possibly with no flashing..on the future G2X?

maybe we can use the backlight of the capacitive buttons instead?

I second that
I was thinking the same, i rather want a nice little touch button SHOW, I was thinking that some blinking would b nice.
But I read somewhere on the forum, that we need the source code and something else to be able to control the led in the buttons.

think you need a kernel tweak to change the lights on the buttons like the galaxy kernel mod ..

NoLED is for amoled screens and not standard LCD

Missed Message Flasher, when set to flashing less than every 250ms, flashes the buttons and not the screen on the LG Optimus S/T/V/One. So, this is a step in the right direction - and it doesn't require root or flashing new kernels.

BLN Control

Doesn't work. Says it needs a different kernel

Try like 50

I even tried 25, but screens still turn on.

Hmm...what about like 5ms?

Do a search for this on google...
Touch LED Notifications (BETA) 0.3 for LG Optimus 2x
I'm a new user so I can't post new links yet...on you tube you can find an example of it lighting up the capacitive buttons...

That touch led app works great. I just wish it worked with google voice.

Question about Froyo's trackball light & Desire Camera Port

Hello everyone hope all of you are doing well
I'll make this short and simple:
1. Is there anyway to change the color of the trackball for default notifications now? (its always white)
2. Is trackball possible to blend colors? If so are there any app or even videos for demonstrating that?
(i.e. blue to red: blue > purple > pink > red; instead of blue, off, red)
3. For the desire camera, I think it's yet the best camera "app" for nexus
- able to manage exposure level depends on the point to focus
- able to FIX ISO to 100
Is there any method to make it work in froyo default rom yet? Or else, is there any camera app out there which is good enough like the desire one?
Thanks everyone!
1. Blink from the Market.
2. Yes it's possible.
3. Don't think so yet.

I haven't really been using nexus stock camera at all
I just realized the stock video recorder CANNOT FOCUS!
how can that be.. I really miss desire camera!
Hi,
I am on 2.2 Build Number FRF91 and Blink is not changing the trackball colour.
Any tips????
I tried Blink and it didn't work great for me. 1) It will only change the trackball color when the phone is locked. If you are looking for the light to change with the screen on, it won't happen. 2) The blink rate didn't work at all. 3) I turned off the notifications for battery and it still notifies on dwindling battery.
Hope that helps.

Is it possible to deactivate the softkeys under Gingerbread?

Hello,
Yesterday i got my galaxy tab. The first what i 've done was to update to Gingerbread + overcome 2.01. Everything works fine expect one thingM; the shiny Softkeys. When i am watching movies (at the lowest brightness) the softkeys suck. It causes bleeding and it's mutch brighter then the backlights.
Is it possible to deactivate them after 15 secs?
Thanks.
download BLN from the market and choose Disable

[Q] Capacitive buttons

Hi mates..
Currently I own an HTC Flyer, been an HTC fan and would like to try this beast as it seems amazing, one thing though:
Is it possible to use the capacitive buttons as a notification LED? Thats the only thing why I would prefer the Galaxy Nexus over this as in every other aspect I think this beast wins easily..
Much appreciated, thanks..
Good question. If you could flash the capacitive buttons when you have a pending message that would be cool. But I don't know sorry. Just supporting this question.
I'm thinking though that those lights aren't as efficient as a normal LED? Too much battery usage?
I have a Samsung captivate, which has similar buttons. certain kernels would include this feature with an app called BLN. Had to be baked into the kernel to work though
The streak had an app called streakled which worked as long as the phone was rooted.

Just only root? cause the post above you says it has to be in the kernel..
Thanks for the reply mate

It is possible use the NoLed app for notification on the amoled display.
yes, just root. But there may have been differences in the way the captivate and the streak handled capacitive buttons which would allow the streak to have just root access but require kernel changes for the captivate. However, I dont know enough about such things to say what.

Hi, generally, it's possible using app called BLN control. However, that app requires a kernel support which is not yet stable for Note AFAIK.
I'm currently using NoLED which I do recommend - it works very well apart from a few glitches here and there (sometimes, the power button will not activate lock screen when NoLED notification is active - it would turn NoLED notification on/off. In that case I just have to use home button instead).
I would probably prefer BLN as it's simpler and should offer some battery saving against NoLED (possibly negligible) so I hope somebody makes a stable BLN patch for kernel. OTOH NoLED displays differently coloured icons for various events which is nice.

Hi mate thanks for the reply
Do you know if BLN works with CF-Root kernel?as that might be the only kernel I would flash on my Note when I have it..
EDIT: a quick question: does BLN work with lock replacements apps eg. WidgetLocker? I noticed that NoLED only work with stock lock..
Thanks again

As I said, one of the devs tried the BLN patches but said the kernel was then unstable so they are not included in any of the currently available kernels AFAIK.
I'm currently on Abyss 1.2 kernel and I can so far highly recommend it. Let's see in a few days.

I can't confirm that. I'm using WidgetLocker and my NoLED notifications work fine (just tested with a missed call). The only slight hiccup is that after you wake up the screen with the notification the stock lock screen is shown instead of WidgetLocker. I've got a feeling there is probably a way around this - spotted a HomeHelper in the WidgetLocker settings that should handle the Home button in certain situations (presumably like this one). Haven't been bothered enough to mess with these settings yet

[Q] change led dimmer level notification on CM7

Good morning,
I was looking for a way to higher the brightness of leds used in CM7 for notification.
I found no option in menù, neither a proper configuration file.
How can I change it?
(No interest in changing normal led level, since it's related to screen brightness, just the one related to notification)
Thank you!
Download the app 'Brightest Flashlight' it will make your led brght enough to see it in daylight.
"LG Optimus 2x touch key lights"

Best app i could find for dimming the buttons..
Yes this "LG Optimus 2x touch key lights" is the best app.
Try with LG Optimus 2x touch key lights
Thank you all.
I was using "LG Optimus 2x touch key lights" on stock rom.
Now I was trying to change some setting in cyanogen, not looking for an external app..

[Q] Zeus 4.02b: Return backlight to lower buttons?

Hello. I'm sorry if this is 1. A stupid question, or 2. Obvious.
I recently installed Heuxxx's Zeus 4.02b on my Optimus Black. It is fantastic so far.
I was just wondering if there is a way to fix the backlight on the four lower phone buttons (the ones below the screen: settings, home, back, search). Since installing Zeus, they go dark during use. I'm not sure if this is a deliberate feature, or if I can change it so that they are backlit like before.
Many thanks.
Philip
You cant change it, it's a bug in LG GB ROMs so you have to live with it, until LG releases a patch for this
Ah, thank you very much! I was really confused, thinking I was missing an obvious setting
Try the app LG notification led or sth in the market, works for some...
