You can still activate a phone on the Sprint network that has S-OFF correct? As long as the phone is not rooted?
You can be rooted and S-off, you just need to be on a stock sprint/sense based rom so that you can use the dialer codes to provision the phone

So I had an upgrade yesterday and I wanted the One X but unfortunately none were available at any stores around me. So I got a Vivid for the time being and plan on returning it when the One X returns. I just wanted to know if there was a sure fire way to flash back to factory settings/stock ICS before I go about trying all these different ROMs. Thanks guys.
Well you can always run your carriers RUU but I am not sure of it puts the bootloader back into Locked or Relocked

Do you think they would accept my return if the bootloader is relocked? I just want to be able to return the phone.

I got a HTC Vivid which i can not get to sim network unlock. It was origionally ATT but now im trying to use it on StraightTalk with their bring your own ATT compatiable phone. I am not a noob ive rooted s-off and flashes many many phones but this ones got my stomped. I have done the fallowing below.
1. Called straight talk, they gave me a unlock code but phone shows network unlock unsuccessful.
2. Called ATT which they said the phone was to new and was unable to give me a code.
3. Searched all XDA and tried the VERY few things i could find with no result.
4. Purchased a Unlock code from a site online with good reviews... FAILED... they refunded money was unable to unlock phone.
5. Purchased from a 2nd, 3nd, and 4th site unlock codes. Of the 4 sites they supplied the same 2 codes. 3 out of 4 have refunded the cost. Waiting on 4th, they had a tech looking into it. No responce 6 days now, emailed and got only a automated msg.
6. Setup a Skype Phone number in Paris France and called ATT so it would appear i was overseas. They still wouldnt unlock the phone but was able to open a case and esculate it from customer service to they supervisors. 3 Days and no reply... still wondering.
So here I am does anyone have any suggestions or things I can try? Im beating my head on my desk thinking WTF... i dont have ATT so unless i can get it unlocked im stuck with a phone i cant use.

Theres a guide in here that I will vouch for, I used it, and have been with multiple different carriers now since, no problems.

Love me some HTC
I agree. The method to sim unlock on xda was successful for me - it doesn't require flashing a file, per se..rather putting a specific DAT file on the root of SD card and then from boot loader choosing simlock.. it errors out but still unlocks the phone (pretty sure its supposed to error out - part of the hack) ..anyway, it was one of the first things I tried on a raider from xda and I've done it on 3 of them now, all successfully. You should try that.

Did you not buy the att compatible sim??? Like I said...you shouldn't need a sim unlock for straight talk...hundreds if not thousands of people have stated that all you need is the att compatible sim and the correct apns...

I have an (branded At&T) GSM unlocked HTC One with bootloader unlocked. I didnt use lost the function of calc or sound recorder when unlocking that i have read. My question is will i still be able to receive OTA updates? and is there a very simple way to go back to stock or get the google play edition?
No OTA when bootloader is unlocked. To relock you need to be completely stock. To relock use all in one toolkit.. it's noobproof! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942

I am completely stock except for the unlocked bootloader and it being GSM unlocked. So if i just relock the bootloader I will get the OTA updates? or do i need to flash a stock RUU?
I dont want to flash the device if i dont have to. I am afraid of bricking the device or messing something up. I rather have the updates be pushed to my phone via OTA either through HTC or ATT.
Hello, im about 12 hours removed from a flight. I got my unlock code from CellUnlocker, took my phone to my freinds, popped his sim in and it won't request an unlock code to be put in.
I think it's because im running ARHD. The phone is locked to rogers in canada. How do I unlock the phone? I cant get the phone to display an unlock prompt!! Im hoping there is a rom (ill flash whatever I need to) that will let me input the code, then ill restore my nandroid backup of my current data.
Please someone help!
Install a sense based rom, or restore a rogers backup
Isn't arhd sense based already??! Someone help please!!!

There is ARHD Sense and Non-sense.
Did you try on Rogers backup?
Yeah on the sense one, is there any other Rom I can flash, unlock and then restore a backup?

The unlock works 100%. If you don't see "SIMLock enabled" than it was successful. Probably the phone doesn't support your phone's frequencies. Don't jump directly to the last solution, read the thread thouroughly

Ive been doing the process over and over again and simlock is still visible on the secret menu .... Elvis ive followed your guide perfectly i even know all the steps by memory ...if it helps here is the htc one imei 990001460590706
Please heeelp me
Delete your IMEI please, it's not wise showing it to everybody. If you did get s-off and than downgraded, did you root your phone and than tried the "Sprint HTC One SIM unlock helper" app? What did the app say? I'm sure you didn't do some steps otherwise your phone would be unlocked. Hundreds of people have unlocked their phone this way. If the "SIMLock" message doesn't go away you probably don't have a sprint one

The Sprint HTC one has blocked the carrier id's for domestic use aka att etc.. You can however if your s-off you can flash the initial release radio the first radio when the Sprint HTC was released and it will allow you to connect to domestic carriers. Here is the first radio released http://d-h.st/HHD I can pick up T-Mobile and att using the initial release radio, it is the only radio I could get to pick up signal with. The radio may be the reason your thinking that its not working, With any other radio you will get no signal and no networks avail. Your probably unlocked if you followed what elvisypi said, your just using the wrong radio. I would try flashing that radio and see what happens, I am in Ohio so i am using domestic carriers. Also make sure there bands in your area are covered.
