some help please? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hy guys... Does anyone have or can direct me to a firmware that has a good bootloader in it? Cause I flashed JV1 and it messed my bootloader... The link under CM7 Thread isn't working...

I think jpy or js3 have bootloaders inside them. You can look inside the rom tarfile if there is a sbl.bin file then it has a bootloader.

Afaik the stock kernels are in the firmware packages that you can get from SamFirmware.com
exactly. kernel is a part of the PDA file in the stock firmware.
I know that. But i do not want reinstall everything after an odin update. I just need the kernel. I know you can extract it but i do not know how.

That's the rom not the bootloader, find a copy of your phones stock rom and flash it with odin

[Q] sbl.bin file on stock

I've had flashed STOCK LQ3 and on that flashed CleaNote v3 (Custom 4.0.4)
I also notice that inside the stock LRG there is the sbl.bin file and it is the only file that not exist on the 4.0.3 LQ3 stock
I'd like to know whether it is important to flash this LRG stock to have the sbl file, is it important?
Over all I'm satisfied with my note and all is working well at the moment without it ....
Sbl is bootloader flash. Its recommended to flash if say going from gb to ics. But i did n9t flash it going from 4.0.3 to.04 and all is good

Well that's exactly what I did therefore I'm asking for its (SBL file) relevant
Is your phone working ok without glitch then no do t flash it. If u have atuff not working then flash it

all works great for me. to flash this sbl means to reflashing stock ROM again and kernels for root and custom ROM. I don't want to do the whole process again.

You should flash the JVU firmware via Odin, after upgrade, also with Odin, to the JWB and flash the chanfire kernel to JW4 which root your phone an comes with CWM too...
