Can someone test my boot animation I just made please? - Xoom Themes and Apps

Like the title says. I just need someone to test this for me. I don't have my XOOM yet to test on, but I'd still like to know if it works or not..
Please post back if it works. If so, a video would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Also, this is my first one, so I have no idea if it's too big or anything like that. It's like 40MB. Hope it works..not sure if there is a size limit :-/

for future references, it can only be about 39 mb if you put it in /system/media and in /data/local seems like whatever space you have on the device. lol. and i would try it if i haven't had problems with bootanimations before and making me have to SBF. :/
[EDIT] I tried. lol. It works but it is really choppy. :/ ill post a vid in a second
[EDIT] Heres the vid.

Hmm...looks like it doesn't play the whole thing anyway..thanks a ton for that btw! Think I'll experiment a bit more later.

Looks like a cool idea ... you should totally repost it once you get it tweaked and smooth!

I really like this seems to work well!
Does it matter which Phone I choose?
Will these themes work with 6.5.1?
I think it might be a ROM issue, but the theme doesn't work for me.
See if you can use it. I made an AlienWare theme.
Anyone get it to work for them?
Seems they took it down temporarily.
Yes looks like it has been taken off. Can anyone post it, if its not to big..
Its back up.
It's back up but our phone isn't supported so...it's pretty useless. Isn't it?

Question and Request, Blur?

I want to thank everyone in the community. Awesome work everyone. I am a long time Android fan. I started with a G1, MT3G, Cliq, moment, and now my hero. I thing that I am among the only one when I had and rooted the cliq but I liked the interface. I guess my question is one, would anyone else want a cliq rom? Two, is it possible to take Motoblur from a GSM rom and port it to CDMA? Third, Would there be any volunteers to try if the other two questions are yes?
I do not have linux and it has been a while since I have used it. I am more then willing to help in anyway I can if this starts to become a reality.
Thanks again to all the DEV's you guys are what makes Android, Android.
I'd love to try it out if anyone could manage this. Sounds like it would be quite an undertaking.
I'm working on this now. It boots, but blur and pretty much everything else force closes. Once I get a stable booting ROM without force closes I'll post it up. I'm real busy right now, but I will be able to work on it in the next few days, so hopefully I can get something goin. This doesn't mean no one else should try, by all means do, incase something happens with mine

Anything new with this?
Just an FYI I've got a system bump of the backFlip - yeah I know stupid base. But it was easier to find than the Cliq dump. I am purely interested to see if I can even do it. Once I get something bootable I will post it....assuming I actually get something bootable.
The server that I am downloading from IS SOOOOO SLOW - 22 k on a 66 mb file....CRAP!!!!!! My battery may go dead before its done!
i'd love to try a blur rom... willing to donate to the cause... I'd also like to learn how to do some of this stuff... how would i get started?

Read, Read, Read...if you want to develop, its not difficult if you have programming background. If not, ehhh good luck writing a program. Given Java is pretty easy to learn, just not a language I would want to start with. If you are absolutely new to programming go get a c++ book, then work out to other languages.
If any one cares I get to a boot screen - But I am missing copybit.heroc.so and am getting a JavaSetAlarmRequest error in logcat any Ideas? I can probably fix the copybit thing with putting the file in place, the java alarm baffles me.

Hey guys, to those who are currently working on this. I am going to pass along some advice that Toast gave to me when I started working on this. Take the rom you want to port, open up the boot.img, and drop our kernel into the boot.img. Rebuild the boot.img, and resign the rom, and it might be bootable (hopefully anyways). That would give you a start, then you can go through and work out the bugs

Man, I would LOVE for it to be this simple! Lol but I can't find a boot.img for cliq or backflop any where! I am working with a bare Rom and trying to throw in bits and pieces of moto frameworks and jars and apks. Made progress to a homescreen but its unusable with fcs.
wouldn't you be running into a problem with the any system apks from blur that have optimized dex? The classes.dex is removed from the apk so how can you generate a dex to run on the hero?

Yeah lol, I agree, that's where I was getting, home screen, everything FC's. Ugh. I've had to abandon working on it due to school and other useless stuff like that....lol. But good luck man. There is a G1 Blur port rom called S_Blur. Download that, and try to work with that. It comes with a boot.img, so rip it (and ours) open, drop the kernel in, and see what happens
just thought of something... would we be able to sign in to the motoblue account? you have to have motoblur and gmail for this....
Ok so. I have been trying forever to get our kernel into the Blur boot.img.
I can unpack it, but I can't repack it. It keeps telling me that my ramdisk file doesn't exist! I CAN SEE IT ITS RIGHT THERE! I am running from a liveCD so that may be the issue.
Could someone please take the boot.img-kernel from the files attached and drop it into the BlurBoot.img for me?
I have posted our boot.img and the Blur boot.img in the attached ZIP.
On a side note, there is a pretty easy to follow tutorial on doing this
Here for those of you who don't have any clue what is being talked about and want to learn.
Anytime I try to do anything CPIO from this live CD (Ubuntu 9.1) it freaks out on me. Soooo maybe time to do an actual install and get this stuff setup like it needs to be.

RyanZA's lag fix: will it work on the vibrant? **UPDATE** IT WORKS!!

**UPDATE**
it works provided you don't have any of the previous ext stuff set up.
**UPDATE2**
rhcp0112345 has put together a *nix / osx based version of the script.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7582553&postcount=37
**UPDATE3**
anomalous3 made a modified version that uses bind mounting instead of symlinks and will remove the init.d ext version of apps2sd. NOTE: ONLY FOR PEOPLE WITH THE init.d ext hack!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7583566&postcount=51
**UPDATE4**
I tried it using rhcp0112345's version and I'm now getting over 2100 in quadrant, w00t!
**UPDATE5**
rhcp0112345 posted a one click .apk version

over in the samsung galaxy s section ryanZA seems to have come up with a lag fix that is much better then the /data->SD version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749495
has anyone tried this on the vibrant? im assuming it should work because it only does some partitioning which doesn't really seem like much of a change to anything that might be different between the models....
anyways im not gona try it till i get some confirmations that it does in fact work on the vibrant...

Interesting. It should work fine. I considered that angle, but the bottleneck seemed to be the flash itself. The **** rfs filesystem could certainly be part of the problem though. I'll see if I can work something up that uses our existing stuff like the init.d so we can fsck the filesystem before mounting it to make sure it doesn't get corrupted. It would be nice to not require partitioning as that step seems to confuse the hell out of people for some reason. The down side is possible delays from traversing 2 filesystem drivers, but Quadrant at least seems to like it fine. I wonder how the general lag is for them now, benchmarks aren't everything.

Haha thats true but developers especially ones that make ROMs go thru testing and risk their DEVICES to make sure that nothing is going wrong and all that before "releasing" it. Although this isn't a release of his works he could of at least tested it without telling other people to go try it out, but im gonna sit here and wait for a status report.
same here! i really want this to work for the vibrant.. will keep an eye on this thread

Does anyone know if you need to revert JAC's kernel and the EXT-hack script thats included w/ it prior to trying this?
I ran the fix and I got 1700 in Quadrant... hmm I wonder how I can get it above 2000...
Edit: I rebooted... now got 2153.

I'd give it a 4/5, only because the animation is a little too fast...I'm not a speed reader!
EDIT: actually, Firefox was making it fast. I just checked with IE, and the animation's good!

Nice idea, I'd probably stop scrolling to read it, and then adblock it. I just think unobtrusive signatures are better, less distracting and they take up less space on the page.
Your text isn't anti-aliased (some of it is unreadable) and there's some weird transition issues that you might want to fix.

Yeah I thought so...
I thought it was quite obtrusive, but didn't really think about it before I put it up.
The reason some of the text is unreadabele is that I had it all smooth and shiny, but then I realised that my resolution is HUGE, and that XDA auto-scales. so I shrunk it down by 66.6%, and I thought that would be good. Unfortunatly, I didnt check it again till now, and WOW is that pixely!
Obviously, its still a bit big for some screen resolutions.
Fridgecow is my friends and I's way of accessing Games from school. Created by us. Sort of become my second life.
I was going to make the image a PHP page: that way it could aut scale, and I could use some IP trickery to use only one link to a PHP page.
Until I switch it to PHP, I think I might just switch to something a little more... text based.
It's pretty nice. Like you said, it is a bit pixely. What did you make it on?

I know deleting that particular file is to enable software rendering.. or disabling. one of those. Suppose to help mainly with gaming. But my main question, if any one knows, is that if you delete from the system does it have any other benefits or even negativves to other partsof the rom?
Hope to hear from you guys
