Hello ~
I got a sennheiser ie 8i which was supposed to work on ipod/phone/xxxx. I wish to use it on the i9000 and found this . When I tried to dial (with the headset plugged in), the audio comes out from the phone's speaker and wont detect the headset. And hollow sound when playing music (just like the link described like the headset wasnt fully plugged in). I wonder if there is an app ( or even by modifying the kernel? ) that could force everything to go via the headset?
got speedmod kernel with voodo sound built in or the voodoo kernel.. i reommend speedmod

These kernels 'optimize' the sound capability of the phone i would say .. but won't change the connectivity detection policy i guess ..?

im using voodoo sound on simply honey 3.5 w/ damien kernel and things are working great...
when im in the car the amplifier works wonderfully....
but, when i insert my head set no matter what level i put the voodoo amp at it makes no difference.
i check through all the settings but i dont see anything... is there anyone out there that might know what the problem is.
thanks.
This is how I set up Voodoo myself.
Max out the media volume on the phone.
Go into Voodoo Control, and make sure "Map Volume Keys Hack" is checked. Also, for the safety of my ears, I also make sure "Jack Plug In Safety" is also checked.
Then when you insert your headphons plug, a little Voodoo icon should appear in the upper left of the phone screen. The volume when adjusted, should be controlled through the Voodoo amplifier.
Are you using Voodoo Control Plus, or is your kernal Voodoo enabled?
i don't think its plus...
its just voodoo control and yes the kernel does allow for it...
i see all the options you stated and have mine set up similarly...
my issue is ONLY WITH HEAD SET volume...
for instance ill put the amplifier up for music... then when i get a call ill plug in my headphones and the volume will be LOUD!! and no matter how low i put the volume it wont go down.
:\
I have a problem with the sound, it only happens when i use headset, music is sounding like it is a very bad mp3 quality. i have tried HDMI, and phones speaker the sound is ok.
It happend when i updated CM7 to 53. I have tried to change baseband, wipe the phone, and tried stock rom, but nothing have helpt.
Use DPSManager, it comes with CM7, you can EQ to your taste, bass boost etc. It improves a lot... too bad isnt in settings or CM settings, hard to find (all apps menu) or you can access it in Now playing (in music player) menu/more/sound effects, you can change headset (headphones), speaker and BT I think...
or use voodoo control plus to manage your sound with headset. but you need to flash the kernel ex like vorkkernel and iron kernel for cm 7. or for stock rom you can use HP kernel
Or use Volume+, you can adjust for both speaker and headset volume. But if you just want headset to be louder.. vodoo sound it better but you need compatible kernel to use.
Me and my friend both have a galaxy s both running jw4 and his phone is louder when playing the same songs....only difference is im on semaphore kernel and on his phone everything is stock..Any ideas why its like that?
bump please :/
Is he/are you running some sort of Sound Eqaulizer to improve sound qaulity (for Jacks &/or Speaker)?
no but his music EQ is set to custom and everything is max...i do the same and his is still louder...but they were the same loudness when i flashed them to new firmwares
could it be semaphore thats causing this?
Hi. I flashed the new official German ICS Rom, and think its great. Only thing was suddendly my music sound was bad again. When i was on GB i Flashed Beats audio.zip and used Vodoo Louder so I could raise det Volume another 9db i think? So I thought i would just do the same. i rooted the phone using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647148
it all went fine but when i downloaded Vodoo Louder again I could only raise the volume with like 3db, i tought well, lets just flash the beats audio.zip again and I could let it slide. That didnt work well. suddendly my phone was slow as ...... and the sound stopped worked. so i flashed the stock rom again did the root all over and now im just stucked with the Vodoo Louder on 3db.
Does anyone have any experience with flashing beats audio on ICS. and has anyone manage too raise the volume higher than 3db on Vodoo Louder on ICS?
Hello freinds
. my cappy came with froyo 2.2 and i flashed cm 10.1 nightly rom on it. Everything seems to work fine execpt that the loudspeaker volume has decreased very much...then i tryed the captivating xperia themed but the loudspeker volume dint incresed so i decided to go back to stock with odin one click back to 2.2 and now the speker volume is loud like before..i have followed mr trusello's guide to flash the rom the odin way..
Now i want to flash a 4.2 rom without compromising on sound
Any help pls seniors.??????
Thanks
Am i the only 1 facing this issue?
Anyone????
CM Jelly bean has some sound related settings that will be unfamiliar to you coming from Froyo.
on 4.2, did you check the system settings, particularly for DSP manager on the speaker tab? and headset plug in jack safety?
did you download the voodoo sound app and they try unchecking the box for tune speaker for music or other voodoo settings?
As above, it's a bit of a known issue on jb.
If you have a ROM with dsp manager or a similar root sound manager, you can crank up the levels a bit in there by messing with it. I know SLIM has it embedded, same with captivating.
Experiment with some settings and find what works best for you. As far as a permanent fix goes, wait for an update?

thanks bro dsp manager solved the problem
Try Unofficial Semaphore by Nick0703. You'll be amazed now loud your speaker can be. This kernel enables In-Call Volume Controls in Settings>Device.
