Im on the leaked factory froyo, havent had any problems with swype in the months ive been on froyo. Installed "shootme" screen grab app, used it once, then moments later started getting the 3 vibrate error. Tried to open market to uninstall but the phone froze then shutdown. On reboot, phone was slow and continuously gave me 3 vibrate error. Switched to samsung keyboard because the buttons to the left and right of swype spacebar were blank, the error stopped and phone functions correctly on samsung keyboard. Uninstalled shootme, rebooted, tried to use swype, got the same error.. i feel naked without my swype...

I've been running Shoot Me and Swype with no problems. Have you installed the latest Swype beta? The previous versions expired. The new release comes with an installer that will keep it updated. If you haven't already, try doing it that way. You have to sign up with Swype to get the new beta.

Awesome, thanks for the help. One question, the website says "If your phone came pre-installed with Swype
DO NOT download this beta (it won't work)"
Am i missing something, or should i just do it?

Scratch that, swype is back up and running quicker than ever! Kreepyken, consider yourself my hero for the next few hours at least!

And now it has decided to give me the error again... serendipity time i suppose...
If you want to replace your Swype, you must first do the instructions from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12042627&postcount=5. Then sign up for the beta Swype (it's free) and follow the instructions there. Or like you said, just install a new Rom.
Well I went to the swype website last night, followed the directions, and got it working. That only lasted a few hours though before it reverted right back to giving me the same error. Something about a process "inputmethod". I wish I had the patience to try to rectify the problem in case somebody else has the same issue, however I decided it was just time for an upgrade

I just downloaded SwiftKey Beta for my Nexus One, but every time I try to download a Language Pack, I get a small error message saying that the download was interrupted and I should try again, but it never works.
I'm running 2.2 and have tried on both WiFi and 3G.

Odd... I'd try the standard various troubleshooting first. A reboot, the uninstall and reinstall. I got SwiftKey without any problems.
Although they did say they had about 100k downloads a day since beta broke, so maybe their servers are feeling it?
It's a cool semantically-innovative way to type. Swype is fun to draw. In the end I'm still fastest and prefer a keyboard that doesn't have to do any prediction (currently using Better Keyboard)
download it from the market instead of using the apk file posted on the forum. works for me fine from the market but the apk i downloaded in the swift key beta thread i have the same problem
it works pretty good on my nexus one ..Nexus one is the best.
Hi..
i'm using galaxy tab running on 2.2 Stock ROM.. and un-rooted.
i got a problem when opening the market, apps , and click the "just in" tab , it just keep crashing.. and there's a notification pop.up saying com.blablabla has stop working, and clicking the "force close" button will close all the apps..
after do some searching in google, some of the articles guide me to hard reset the tab.. but no luck, still got the same problem after hard resetting the device.
any advice ? sorry for the bad english.
Thanks in advanced
This happens to me too. I already flashed a different rom, yet the problem persists.

try to clear market cache go to applications and then go to market application and press clear cache.
Try factory reset if all fails.

I tried that. Hell, I even re-flashed a rom. O_O
thanks for the replies guys.
i asked the local samsung store, and they said it's a bug from the market.
so we must wait till the new version of market are released.
Do the following if ur phone is rooted.
1 clean market cache
2 run market enabler and select t mobile
3 run market the problem should be resolved.

well im glad i found this thread cause i been having this problem i have noticed it when its on 3g every once in a while but it happens most when its on wifi i have reset my tablet to stock like 3 times and have cleared the cache many other times. i was starting to think that my tablet was messed up or broke...
I think its a server side issue from google. I had this issue as well with stoxk and custom rom. Reflashing did nothing clearing cache. I did change my csc and spoofed to a german operator when my issue got magically fixed on its own.
I agree with above. If I remember correctly, this started since the last update.
ok quick question non android related, has anyone been having problems with gmail while using a pc, like it takes for ever to load or it stays loading? I ask cause I started having my market mess up and now my gmail keeps loading even thouth its loaded. I hope I made sense lol im alsmost falling asleep while I type...

it happens to me at times, mostly at work, so im thinking it's a firewall (at work) issue.. what i do is simply login to gmail (using chrome) and once the reloading loop happens, i open gmail in a new tab.
>a little thanks goes a looooong way<
ok cool thanks i just hope google fixes all these issues soon
The previous Swype Beta expired on me this morning. Fortunately, I had already registered for the previous Swype Beta. I uninstalled Swype and the Swype Installer, reinstalled per the instructions on the Swype Beta site and everything seems to be working great.
They removed an annoying feature that was added the last time. Previously, if you tapped on a word that had been entered, the text cursor would jump to the end of the word. It was very annoying. It no longer does that.
Also, in the Swype settings you can edit your user dictionary. It will give you a list of all the words in your personal dictionary, and you can delete or add more words. Nice!!! However, they don't let you edit the system dictionary. I would really like to remove "st" from their dictionary. If I'm swyping fast, I usually get "st" instead of "at".

Use Root Explorer or similar to manually remove all references to Swype from the /system folder and subfolders. Don't forget the libSwypeCore.so file, too.
I haven't tried it just yet, but I'll give those above suggestions a go later today.
EDIT: It worked, just don't forget to REBOOT after deleting and then use the Swype Installer.
i just used root explorer and removed the apk, then re installed using the installer and it didnt work.. until i did a restart. then i was able to re install it successfully.
Lost it again, can someone post the apk as well as the lib file, I'd be so grateful!

An issue recently popped up with Netflix on my wife's rooted Nook Color. It is demanding an upgrade with every attempt to run the application. In the passed, when an upgrade message would pop up, all I had to do was to tap "cancel" and I could continue on to use the app. Now, there is a message "New version of application is found, you must upgrade to be able to use application" pops up. If I tap cancel, I am exited out of the program. If I tap ok, I am taken to the Market where I can't download the "new version" because of my device "is not compatible" with it.
I have not found much on this. There are a few posts about it in Cyanogen's forum section but no one has posted a fix for it that has worked for me. Here are the fixes that have been posted and that I've already tried.
1. uninstalling and reinstalling.
2. changing the pixel density to 160
3. Clearing the market cache
4. upgrading from Netflix 1.4apk to 1.5apk
I rooted this Nook with Cyanogen's RC1 install and all had been going well. Everything had been going just fine until this issue cropped up last week.
Anyone have the same experience? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Upgrade to 7.1 stable or change your dpi to 160.

Yup, CM 7.1 is your beat bet. For the longest time, Netflix woredfor m and the it all of a sudden stopped working. I spent several days trying to figure out what was wrong wwith it because it happened after itbhad updated. The only thing I got to work for me was to uninstall it and download it again from the market. I don't know why that's not working for you. But look on the bright side - whenever you get it working again, you get to use that awesome new tablet UI.

I ran into the same issue running CM7 7.1. If you've got the Amazon Marketplace installed, you can get Netflix from there. I didn't have any issues downloading it and installing form there. The new UI is REALLY nice.
Thanks everybody. Upgrading to 7.1 did the trick. ...and to Dexter Douglas, you're right! The new UI is great!
Pretty sure I meantioned the new UI first, but I'm glad it worked out for ya.

i am running the original Phiremod based on CM7. I just installed Netflix from the Amazon Market after being unsuccessful with any other method. I logged in and started up a movie. So Far, so good. But Wait There's no sound. Using the hard button to try to increase media volume did not work. So, I closed Netflix and went into settings, sound, volume, media volume. I dragged the slider to the right but it always reverts to no volume (slider reverts all the way to the left). I'm Going to reboot and if it's fixed, I'll report back. If it's not, I'll uninstall Netflix. If i still have no media sound, I'll be back here in a panic asking for help! !

Storm, what if you can't get the installer to work? I am running a phoenix rom and the only swype I have is the beta. Unfortunately I can't run the 3.26 installer (which just came out, thereby deactivating my copy) because I'm getting an error "Swype Beta is currently unavailable for devices that have Swype preinstalled" - since my cracked copy had a beta to begin with - when a new copy was released, my copy was remotely deactivated. Is there a workaround?
I'm having an issue updating swype as well, when I go into the swype installer and hit "update" I get an error saying "There is a problem parsing the package."

When I try to install that app, I start installing and a few second later it says "application not installed"
Wipe data and uninstall Swype using Titanium Backup. Boot into Recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache. Then install. PROFIT!

I'm using the new Swype to type this. You don't need to clear your cache and all that. Just uninstall Swype and the Swype installer from titanium backup. Then download the new installer. Reboot your phone and run the installer and it should go through just fine. Just so you know, its really good looking.

I found his themed swypes... oops, but now after doing some more reading I see Swype has cracked down on "unofficial" themes and XDA is closing threads related to them. So I guess you'll have to find them yourself - shouldn't be too tough though.
Here's where you can get every new swype beta. Just sign up on the official site and download the installer:

The latest revision works great, but I'm having, like many others, issues downloading alternative languages pack on ICS/CM9. Did anybody figure out a workaround?

Yesterday I installed swype on CM9 B16. within an hour i was down 40% battery (edit: phone was sitting idle, screen off). Put it on charge an even that was going slow and the top of the phone was warm. Switch the keyboard back to the android default and the phone cooled off and charging went faster (from laptop USB). Using the show cpu usage overlay, it seems like the swype keyboard is always cranking away on cpu usage even in the lock screen.
Has anyone else had this battery drain issue with swype? is there a workaround? Swype was the best thing going on my carriers GB rom.

Nope I dont have this problem, ive been using it on ICSSGS Roms, no glitches or bugs works flawlessly. It might be a bad install, remove the app and redownload it..
Ive noticed that no matter what there is almost always a swype background process running so that can contribute to your batter loss.
I realize its always going to be a looming process. I did try reinstalling a couple hours ago. Its not popping up so intensely on the cpu usage monitor and have only dropped a normal amount (a few percent) of battery since then. I think the reinstall did it.
ps. I also had wiped my Dalvik cache before the reinstall for unrelated reasons, could have this been the atual fix rather than reinstalling swype?
