What is the difference between yours and Prime TV, I have the paid version of it and actually like the concept. Just trying to figure it out so I can make a decision on daily use, thanks.

Hi I have the paid version (which was crashing nonstop but updates sorted that out so thanks) and I generally like it .
The live tile isnt working yet. I have 4 shows tonight but the tile isn't showing that.
I like the news feature which includes recaps of the tv shows nice
I wish instead of today and next week I could get a individual day of the week break down ex.
MONDAY
Being Human 9PM
Celebrity Apprentic
Rupaul Dragrace
TUESDAY
the Office
WED
Modern Family
Glee
THURSDAY
That way the shows would be visually easy to scan through.

Hello !
TVShow is a victim of its success and I exceeded my upload quota of my push server. So that's why I submitted a version 1.3 on Sunday with my new servers inside (logically it should arrive tomorrow), so do not worry, the push will come back tomorrow with the 1.3.
For the list, still good news, I just implement it in 1.4, it will be possible to fully customize the application : wallpapers by tv shows, but also the display of the list.
Two modes:
- today, tomorrow, this weekend, next week (current)
- Monday, Thurday, wenesday, etc. ... (your request)
TVShows is your application, I try to add up the features you ask me. So ask!

Unfortunately there is no cooperation, they just pumped the design of TVShow instead to keep their current design.
Their current version does not look like TVShow, but if you watch their videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs4ULdkcxgg), all features that highlight is copied from mine ... It's an honor, but I appreciated that they invent rather than copy.
And a gift for sayonical : I will add SpoilerTV rss in the next version
Even here we can have doubts :
The 1.3 with live tile is now available !
hey, any chance you can add the option to change the time to gmt at some point? watch a lot of american tv, would be great to see when its on local time so i can watch over the internet.
I hate copies... can you report them? I bought the paid version... waiting for the tile
Epic! Exactly what I was looking for. Was planning on doing it myself, but you just saved me a lot of work
The app looks really great as well.
Thanks so much!
Would I be right in assuming you'll not be releasing a WinMo 6.x version? If you get a moment, and you have any experience, could you recommend something for those of us who haven't yet got a WP7 device.
I like the UI of your app a lot but I noticed a quirk. When there are shows available next week, the shows are listed as "this week." This week would mean the week it's currently in. I think it would make better sense to use the term "next week".

Yes, in this version "this week" = 7 next days.
A settings has been added in the 1.4 in order to select :
- today, tomorrow, this week (monday to sunday), next week
- today, tomorrow, 7 next days,14 next days
- today, tomorrow, saturday, sunday, monday, etc...
So you can select how you want to organize your tv show.
I will make a post this week end with all the new features (a lot !!) in the 1.4 version (available tuesday/wednesday)
The new feature of the 1.4 version :
- facebook integration
- News for each tv shows (in addition to news on the home)
- Possibility to change wallpapers for tv shows (manual or automatic
(the app gives you a list of wallpaper relative to your tv show, but you
can also add a picture from your phone))
- A menu to sort the series A to Z
- an adjustment to manage the list "following"
- today, tomorrow, Thurday, Friday, etc. ... (new)
- today, tomorrow, 7 next days,14 next days
or
- today, tomorrow, this week, next week (current)
- TVSpoiler feeds
- a new list in the home page : "last unseen" (show the unseen episodes of the last 10 days)
- customize the 'episode number format' : S02E02, 2x02, Season 2 Episode 2, 2-02, etc...
All this is implemented, I test this WE and release the update sunday or monday
great works !!
Hey
Looking forward to version 1.4, sound great!
Got also some additional feedback for you:
- improve performance of show-list (I've got 30+ shows and its getting pretty slow)
- setting to hide shows from list, where all episodes were watched
- possibility to mark shows/seasons as unseen
- import/export show list/ seen episodes, in case you have to hard reset your phone (or perhaps a cloud service to sync your account?)
guess that's it for the moment, hope you might consider adding at least some of this in future versions.
again, thanks for the great app!

Actually, it just got passed by Microsoft. It usually takes a few hours for it to show up. The link will work soon though.
The link is up now.

RIP GenieWidget (aka News&Weather)

I posted recently about the weather section of GenieWidget dying. Now it looks like the whole shebang is gone
I even updated mine (which had the dedicated browser) to what appears to be the last version for Eclair (1.3.04) (which opens selected stories in your default internet browser). Still no dice. Google has left this old version on the ash heap of android history.
So...now what? I still have a working BBC News app (though the annoying ticker at the top is stuck on an ancient story...), a copy of the once-free NewsHog that still works, and the NPR app. All three of these have scrolling issues even worse than those of the old GenieWidget (which was actually almost tolerable with the OC kernal).
I've been looking around. Anyone have news apps with some breadth like the old GenieWidget that still work?
And the winner is......
Well, maybe not exactly a "winner", but it's sort of an OK substitute. After much searching and trying out, I've come up with two candidates. One is the old NewsHog (the older free version that will still run on the NST). This is the most similar in coverage and some sources to the Google GenieWidget. No weather, though. It has longer article summaries than GenieWidget did and you have the option of opening the full story in either the built-in reader or your browser. The built-in reader has scrolling issues. You need to keep your gutters really clean and develop a quick thumb flick at the bottom right corner of the screen (similar to the BBC News app)--or open stories in your browser. The issue there, of course, is the slowness of the entire process every time you want to pursue a story.
A second candidate is called News Republic. The market version will not run on the NST but I did find an older one that will. The interface is completely graphic. You choose news categories that you arrange in tiles on the app "homescreen". Each category tile takes you to pages (swipe across to move from page to page) that look like newspaper pages, with varied length columns (some with images) mushed together to make a rectangle. The columns have teasers to the stories. Selecting a column brings you to a nice reader which--TA-DA--actually scrolls beautifully (makes you wonder why these other people could not get it right.....). The downside is that it takes a long time to get it set up the way you want it (you do not need to set up an account). Also, there are a lot of fluff tabloid-like sources and categories, so you end up removing a lot in the initial set-up (the video section wants to work with its own player, but then just gives up and says the video could not be opened). And...there are not as many solid traditional news sources. No custom categories. AdAway works to block ads as I occasionally see a blank rectangle with the words "advertisement" along the bottom.
So, that's what I have found so far. I've attached both older apps in case you want to try them for yourself.
Edit: Some time in July 2016 this version of NewsHog stopped updating custom news categories so you only have the provided categories to choose from
Edit: Some time in February 2017 all versions of News Republic that will run on the NST became unable to log in. Another dead one. App removed from the attachments below

[Android 4.1+] 1K Words - Learn 1000+ (SAT) Words

Google Play Store : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wolf359apps.onethousandwords
In the past I've tried many word teaching apps, but they were rather passive; I had to find and open the app and figure out where I left or what I wanted to do. I ended up writing my own app.
1K Words will track your progress and remind you with a notification when it's time for the daily quiz. All you have to do is to click the notification which will then take you directly to the quiz screen.
Every time you answer a question during the daily quiz your progress will be saved and you will be confronted with that word again (depending on your answer) either the next day or a few days later.
Key features :
- 1000+ words (mostly SAT)
- Audio pronunciation (via Text-to-Speech engine)
- Definitions and example sentences for every word
- Create your own dictionaries, entries and definitions (which will then be scheduled automatically)
- Receive the 'Daily Quiz' notification at the time of your choice
- clipboard : copy a paragraph from another app (eg. browser) and parse it inside 1K Words to entry, definition and sample sentences via special dialog. The idea is to minimize the need to switch between different apps back and forth.
- No need to track your progress, 1K Words will do that for you
- No games, no high-scores, no fancy animations; your progress will be your reward !
Ads:
- one banner at the bottom of every screen
- one interstitial (full screen) ad after every 10th question during a quiz and at the end of a quiz
A premium (ad-free) version is available via in-app purchase
