Hi guys, due the problem withe the OEM 1230mah Battery, i decided to buy a Non-OEM 1500mAh Battery for my HD7 (T-Mobile).
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160546276534
It fit perfectly my HD7 without having another "modded" backcover. But i have a question about charging this battery.
HD7 is designed for the 1230mAh battery, and you guys all know the phone must be turned on in order to charge the battery (because of Windows Phone 7 OS). So, it means, the OS controll how the battery would be charge(like when the power reach 1230mAh, the OS will stop the charging process? Is that right?). And my question is, if i charge this non-oem 1500mAh battery like an OEM one (leave the battery inside the phone and plug the charger in), can the battery be charged full to 1500mAh or it will be charged to 1230mAh only like a OEM one?
Sorry for my bad English. Thanks!

not necessarily, there are docks available that let you charge a battery separately maybe that would be of service to you?
Well, i might need it, and i may not. I did charge this battery like a normal way last night and this is the result.
I used the phone like hell today, and it did show me the red light and the warning messege about low battery (I was using it from 8 AM, and it did show me the red light on 2h30 PM). But then i kept listen to music for the whole 45 mins through my earphones, left it inside my bag when i was going to practice for whole 2 hrs, and then made 2 phone calls, one 3 mins and one like 10 mins and it totally ran out of power.
Using phone from 8h AM to 7PM, heavily 2G EGRPS Using, Web Browsing, games, no Wifi, no 3G, music all the way.
Normally, with the stock Battery, the phone would be dead by the afternoon, this thing do make the phone last longer, but not much. 1500mAh?, i don't think so, this thing should be around 1300mAh to 1400mAh.
Gonna Re-test tomorrow.
let us know...i'm interested in a backup battery...i used my phone today (browse web, text, and games) from 8am and by 2pm it was RIP....i really need a new battery
I tested it today again.
8:15AM : Removed from battery charger (Wifi Off, Bluetooth Off, 3G Off, EGRPS on, Silent, Automatic brightness)
Used for Web Surfing on EGPRS, Mail checking, Note taking, a little bit gaming, red light appeared by 1.30PM, and the battery still existed until 5PM (still listened to music, screen off)
And i am sure if you are a heavy user, this thing will help you extend the life-time of the phone pretty good. But you still need to recharge everynight. I think
i found this one online (HTC HD 7 T9292/ 1500mAh, standard battery 46.00USD), you can find here:
http://www.mugenpoweronline.com/pro...d=841&osCsid=5482875b02e61dce5cde44566be0c4d0
i'm skeptical on the ebay batteries...
Well, somehow, this battery does extend the life time of this phone, it work for me from the morning until the evening, when i have already been home, is not bad, and acceptable with the 4.3 inch Screen.
Pay $46 for it? i don't think it is a good idea either.
Quick update: After Post No-Do and No-Do update, i realize one thing, now the battey bar of Windows Phone 7 display correctly the amount of the battery i believe. Before both 2 update, the red light would be turned on by the phone way sooner than the actual point that the battery was nearly dead.
Yesterday at the baseball match, i used my HD7, listened to music "non-stop", volume = 18, through headset, screen turned off, from 10AM to 5 PM and the red light was not even on.

I have a very strange matter with my battery. Normally i takes more then a day before the battery runs out of power. But last night it suddenly told me my battery was empty so i charged him and took him off on 11:00pm yesterday.
And suddenly at 1:45am it told me again that my battery was empty while i didnt used him in the mean while. So i charged him again and waited untill he was 100%. After 5 minutes my battery drained to 90%!! And i didn't even do something.
Is my battery dead? I use the 137.405.1 WWE rom. Any change of better batterylife with another rom?
I have the exact problem with you. Later bring down my set to HTC for a one-to-one exchange.
Seems like a common problem.
I sent my brand new one back after 1 day of use. From full charge the battery lasted an hour and a half.
There seems to be a difference in charging with original cable and another brand cable. When i charge him with the original one, my battery is stable, but when i charge him with a Sony usb cable and my computer the battery drains like hell.
Maybe people wanna check this out?

Hi Yzord, ook hier?
I'm using the original cable to charge my TD. The battery drained twice (same day, early in the morning and during the night) from almost fully charged to completely empty.
I've just charged my device @work, and everything seems fine now... don't get it.
However, I don't think it is a faulty battery. It seems more logical to assume that it is buggy software. Maybe the battery indicator registers the battery as 'full', while in reality it is completely empty. This would explain a sudden drain without the TD getting hot from a 'draining program' in the background.
I also suspect some software issues. think i'm gonna try another rom then.
Normally I automatically set the schedule (schema in Dutch) for Autosync to "manually". After my ROM update a few days ago I did not change these settings. Standard they are on: "When a new item is available" and "Every 60 minutes" (translations might be a bit off, but you know what I mean).
Maybe my phone was trying to fetch items of a non-available network connection, which might have depleted the battery during the night. To find out if this complies with other people having the same problem:
Could everyone who had this problem check their ActiveSync settings??
Let me and everyone interested now
I have OEM battery and it was working great for last year and half. Now a days when I put it in charging it charges the battery but my screen does not show it correct percentage it is chaged for.
If I put this battery in my wife's phone it show it is charged 100%, if I put 100% charged battery from my wife's phone in my phone it show 67%.
If I put it to charge via my phone I get led showing correctly that it is charging, even in battery status show it is charging.
Issue is it is not showing correct percentage (I think) what my be issue battery, phone , rom.....?
Old battery!!!
but same old battery works fine in wife's phone
but same old battery works fine in wife's phone.
Try cleaning the contacts on your phone.
they are as brighte as silver
they are as bright as silver but issue continue.
So this is normal?

Does a year and a half make this OEM old? My OEM Tilt battery, also 1 1/2 years old, just started giving me only about an hour of talk time from a full charge. So this is not unusual? It's annoying as h*ll, that's for sure.
I've seen the same issues between my Tilt and my wife's Tilt (actually my wife replaced her Tilt with an iPhone), so I should say between my first Tilt and my second Tilt.
The problem happens once every two months or so. I usually put the battery in the phone that shows the higher battery life and let it drain down to zero over the next few days. This has solved the problem for me so far.
If he is using a different battery in the same phone, and getting the same result, I would say its not the battery.
I'm having a similar issue, where after a full charge the phone works fine for awhile, then shuts off if i use the web browser or gps for more than a minute. After I turn it back on(and if it lets me) my battery reads only about 5%. I thought it might be the battery but even though I bought a new battery, I still have the same problems.
I've even reflashed to a new rom to try and correct the problem, but without luck.
I think maybe a year or so is about the life span for this phone. Or maybe a few escaped quality control, and we just happen to be the lucky ones.
I had a similar issue with my kaiser, then it started not charging the battery intermittently which meant id constantly wake up with a dead phone in the morning after an allnight charge.
Then it stopped charging altogether, HTC sent me a new battery which did exactly the same.
So i sent it off and it turned out to be a motherboard issue with the charging circuit.
Hope that helps
full overnight charge only charge to 70%
when i put battery for full overnight, it charge only charge to 70%. I will give it a try to drain to 0% and then see what happens. I am sure this is issue with phone and nothing to do with battery but still can not solved the problem. Can not send to HTC as warrenty already passed.
Hi,
Just purchase 2 HTC HD2 replacement batteries from ebay (Non original)
and facing a problem in charging both of them.
When I power up the phone it shows 80%, but when charger is connected,
it does not show the charging icon and the notification LED keeps blinking between amber and green.
Any one got any idea? Both the batteries defective?
I use a meter to measure the batteries, one got 4v the other 4.02v.
Seems ok but just cannot charge inside the phone.
Help and advise needed. Thank you.
Got the same issue here. They will charge up to 68% then stop.
Have to turn off phone and plug in again to charge the final bit - OR - take them out and put in caddy charger.
Battery replacement charging problem
I also have the same problem but this issue happen only if you use the device while charging the battery. If the issue occur try turn off the screen (not power off) and wait around 3-5 mintues then it continue charging the battery without any problem. The problem is occur only if we use the power too much such as Telephone call, Wifi, GPS then it back to blink green and amber again and again. Howerver I found out that sometime after soft reset the battery report it have been charge during green and amber blinking (in my case I upload youtube of 120MB and take quite a long time around 2-3 hours the battery indicate 6% and not increased until I softreset them then become 72%)
Howerver, this is almost not acceptable since it should be charged normally in any condition.

Do you guys think this is due to "low quality" batteries that could not be charge properly in the phone. Can only be charged using cradle....??????
same issue here, except mine will go amber/green regardless of power % left.
I have seen mine doing amber/geen even when it'[email protected] 10% with screen off.
That would all seem to point at the phone drawing more power than can be put in the battery at the same time.
I reported it to the ebay seller in anycase, who says he will contact the factory.
cheap ebay batteries causing problems?
My cheap battery does the same if I use cheap craddle that came with it. However if I use original charger and stock cable it is all fine.
Oh yes and original battery used in cradle does the same orange/green.
However in any case living it for 3-4 minutes starts charging process.
When it's charged up fully it's def a massive improvement on the original though. I can get almost 50 hours out of it now, the original one I had only got 24 at a push

thanks for that, and you definatly think it lasts longer than the original htc ? are you a heavy user?
Yes - BUT - mine came with a 750mA, and I think you guys will have a 1230 right?
Hy there
I've been member on this forum for some time now , really like the stuff you can find here and learn about things....
ok the reason i started a thread is because I've searched the Net for 2 days for a reason , or something that would explain why my diamond won't display a solid white light on a full charge ..
i've bought it second hand and the battery was pretty much wasted (lasted only for 6 hours (without any use at all maybe 10 min max of talking) it charged to 99% most off the time sometimes it would stop at 75% or 82% ....
(even after a whole night of charging)
no problem , I've replaced the battery and it still shows me 99% on a full charge (even after 4 hours or a whole night of charging) , I've never seen a solid white light since i have the phone or a battery that is at 100%
I hope that some people out there, have some suggestions or possibly know why this is happening, and are willing to say a few words to help me
ThanX
Same here
I have the exactly same problem.
When I put the phone to charge overnight (8hrs) in the morning it has reach 66-74% top. Interesting, but "tbattery.exe" shows 4.18V. When at this moment I restart the Diamond it shows 100% charge at the battery... I tried 2 batteries, 2 different chargers and 2 cables (one OEM, and one mini-USB). I looked at google, but no luck. Any ideas?
BTW the phone connects via active sync and syncs normaly.
Regards!
achieving 100% charge
try
- turning off phone before charging
- reset phone before charging
I have a similar problem and for this reason am unwilling to leaving phone charging overnight - my previous battery swelled up probably due to a combination of old age and overcharging
I now employ a series of "top-up" charges during the day
So i recently bought a brand new htc vivid 1300mah battery from cellphoneshop.net (http://www.cellphoneshop.net/vividbat.html). Now the thing is this battery has taken over 24 hours to fully charge and when it finished charging i reset the phone it turned off but did not come back on so i plugged in the charger for it then turned it on and it came on when it booted up the battery was at 3% now i have contacted them and i was told id be getting another new battery in the mail in 7 business days and theres no need to send in the battery (which i find odd). so i have a picture of the battery status before and after the reset which i took a screenshot of in the battery are in settings im wondering if this battery is a knock off or not because it seems very odd that the battery took over 24 hours to get to a full charge on the first time. feedback would be apprciated (also a picture of the battery) and if you can see at the top of the battery has a bugle going from end to end and i can actually move it from side to side which my actually phone battery that came with my phone im unable to do that at all its very solid.

You should post some pictures of the battery in your phone, and maybe a video of you wiggling it around. 24 hours is an incredibly long time to charge a phone battery; did you charge it using a separate charger, an AC adapter for your phone, or by usb cable in a computer? Also, was the phone powered down for the charging? If your phone is trying to find a wifi or cell signal (and/or doing updates or other stuff in its down time), that will definitely make the battery charge much more slowly.
You can also try to reset battery stats (mixed results; sometimes the phone mistakenly thinks something like a 90% charge is 100%, but that's not usually the case. This fixes it.):
start charging while powered off, and once it says you are at 100%, remove the cord, then remove the battery, wait a minute, then put the battery back in and start charging while powered off again. Then you can boot into recovery and wipe you battery stats. Power the phone back off and try charging again until 100%, remove cord, remove battery, wait a minute, charge again. Next boot into your main ROM, and just waste battery like normal.
I will say that your battery doing all those funky things does make me think the battery is kaput. It being a 1300 mAh battery is also slightly odd; the stock battery is 1620 mAh. I wouldn't worry about it being a scam yet, and them not wanting the product returned isn't anything to worry about; it costs money to ship an item, and they don't want to piss their customers off by making them pay shipping, and probably don't want to pay for it to be shipped to them (a battery can't be easily repaired, and it costs money to legally dispose of them).
Try the battery stats wiping method I posted, and then keep letting us know how things go!
The battery method you suggested didnt work. If the phone is off it will never charge i've tried it every time the phone is turned off and then back on the battery is always below 5% no matter what and i will post a video of the battery being able to wiggle the part which i find very weird because the stock oem battery is not like that at all thanks for the feedback much appreciated also i am running the stock rom of the phone because i was getting a new battery i saved all my apps on titanium backup and reverted my phone to stock with its stock ruu then put the battery in but the photo you see of the battery going from 100% to 3% was when i reset it and the only way it got to 100% was i had to keep the phone powered on it was in airplane mode while it charged and it took forever to fully charge just for the battery to go to 3% after a reset and the phone didnt turn back on when i reset it i had to plug in the charger or it would of never turned back on while using that battery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/s8hpf3vtsnx561h/VIDEO0034.mp4 thats the link to thei video of the battery it looks like its a knockoff i dont know no battery should take over 24 hours to charge
Ok, thanks for uploading the vid. Yeah, that doesn't look right, and coupled with the fact that it won't hold any charge, I'd say that is one defective battery. I'm not sure how reputable cellphoneshop.net is, but I found a 1620mAh OEM battery on Amazon for only $8.09 (free shipping): http://www.amazon.com/HTC-BH39100-Standard-Battery-Vivid/dp/B007JO6C5W
Anywho, when/if your next battery arrives, you should check it for the same issues of this one, and keep us updated to make sure it is/isn't a reputable dealer.
alright will do and thanks
