Help With Launcher Pro - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Launcher Pro set to default launcher, how can i undo this without uninstalling the program? Just if i wanted to use the default tw?

What I do is install a custom launcher and then press home. It gives me the option to set my default again

Go to Settings, then Manage Applications, then select LauncherPro, the go down to Launch by Default, then click Clear Defaults.
The next time you press the Home button, it will ask which Launcher you want to use. If you leave the Use as Default checkbox unchecked, it will ask every time you press the Home button. If you don't mind extra clicks, it's nice to leave no default selected while setting up a new launcher.

thanks! this helped.

Or you can down load home switcher free from the market to pick what launcher to use.

I use Home Switcher, free from the marketplace, and it'll allow you to switch between any launchers you might have on your phone.

No launchers working on my Galaxy Note

Few days back I opted to change the look & feel of my Galaxy Note so decided to install Go Launcher Ex.It was initially on but started lagging on home screens.Yesterday I uninstalled it and went for the default one.Today I thought of giving other launchers a try so went for ADW & LauncherPro but none seem to work or start even though they show as installed app.
what do you mean they arent working?
have you unset the default in applications?
I mean just nothing happens after installing the launchers...neither any shortcut or any change to the gui...
You need to run the launcher then press the home button and select the specified launcher as default.
Go to manage apps & clear defaults of your last used launcher

i had the same problem... i did a hard reset and it worked, now everything its perfect
(this will wipe all data inside the phone, the sd card will be fine)
just turn off your phone, remove the battery, put the battery in, and then hold Power button + volume down, keep holding until you see a android thingy
and its done...

I'd rather keep my wallpaper like that instead of resetting it all. Don't want everything gone.... Thanks though!

did you try 3rd party app such as Holo Locker?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker
(although, i don't know if it supports the wallpaper changing in the free version).

Home button long press

I'm running a stock based Rom, firekat I believe.
my issue is when long pressing the home key I get 3 options, Google, greenify, nothing. There is no option to choose a default action.
Second party to this is that I do not have the default app choice option when clicking an icon as there was in previous versions.
Can anyone clear this up?

I don't know what the options are if you use Touchwiz, I don't. I use Apex and change the behavior of longpress in Apex settings. I'm also on Firekat V7.
I'm using wanam but it won't change the home key default

Nova launcher will let you set any action for it. (I think most launchers will do this too)

Don't long press an app icon. I only see that if I long press an icon. Otherwise from playing around with settings I have not come across any way to disable it.

You can install an alternative Home launcher, such as APEX launcher, or NOVA launcher. Both support home screen layout importing, so you don't have to re-arrange apps the way you have them. Widgets will need to be re-made though.
There are more settings available on these apps and you can easily set them both up to look like the stock launcher, or you can set it up how you prefer. I used to use APEX but no longer find the need for it myself.
