I'm having all kinds of issues running pulse from SD nookie froyo with the latest status bar hack. It force closes all the time and to the point it won't restart and causes the Google service framework to force close and me to subsequently have to reboot the nook. Just currious if anyone else is having issues running pulse or know of any fixes. I really like the app but am forced to uninstall it due to all of the issues.

So Im not sure if this is a CM RC2 problem or a problem or Gesture search issue as I installed CM RC2 the same time Gesture search got that recent update. But at random it seems the Gesture Search app opens, I haven't touched anything and I havent pressed anything. Its so random. Has anyone else experience this?
Had the same problem using enoms latest. I uninstalled since I never use it.
LOL
Just disable it in the gesture search options if you don't use it.
Yeah, just turn off the new option in Gesture Search. It loads gesture search if you flip the phone back and forth quickly.
I just updated to Gingerbread. I used ADW and LauncherPro without issues on FRG83, however, in GRI40. It gets knocked out of memory (I think) everytime I open an app. So when I click home and choose one or the other, it has to always redraw the screen and the app drawer, taking atleast 2 to 5 seconds. I have used the same settings I did on FRG83 (system persistant, prevent FCs) and it has not helped.
Can anyone provide some suggestions?
Try to reset adw...
Or do you have the adw's keep in memory setting on?
I'm using adw too, and updated to gingerbread also without any problems.

I'm using Launcher Pro and haven't had any issues with it on GRI40 so far.
Yes I have the keep in memory setting for both those apps checked.
So I installed Gingbread and restored all my apps. All of the sudden, I get a battery notification in the notification bar. Its not a full battery, or a low battery. Its the current percentage. It is listed under the header as an "Ongoing" notification. It has the percentage with the explanation "battery level changed."
I have tried wiping, restoring to stock, and going back to Gingerbread. It always returns. Any help would be appreciated, this is driving me crazy.
UPDATE
I installed the Talon kernel, after reboot the icon was gone for about 10 minutes, then came back.
Thanks
I just got that on my nexus one with cm7 today. Were you able to fix it?
i get the same **** cant get rid of it
What ROM are you running. I have been using gingerbread for months and have never seen this.
Does the time this started coincide with any apps you downloaded? What happens when you click on it in the notification tray?
Sent from my Captivate running Continuum 5.6
When I bring down the notification bar it says: Ongoing - "battery level changed".
If i click on the notification I get sent to the android battery screen.
I am running the latest cm7 and didn't install any apps recently.
Found it
I was experiencing this annoying problem too. Finally, I tracked it down to being part of System Info Widget (version 2.2).
In the settings of the System Info Widget, choose "Display Options" and then set the "Battery Display" to "none"... All fixed!
I have had a savage hatred for Google's idea of softkeys (while loving Button Saviour's) ever since HC dropped on us with the Xoom. Is this method of getting rid of the navigation bar viable on the Nook HD? I read from the guides that the Nook was "sensitive" but am too dumb to know what this means.

Currently on 2.0.5 rooted with GApps but no location.
Do not try. Will do 8 boot, restore. Seems most anything related to /system will cause this.
Despite this limitation I still hate the Nexus 7 enough to stick with the NookHD
I have the same/similar problem with the grey toolbar. I have used LeapinLar's excellent guide for getting CWM on the nook and it works very well indeed. The only problem is that when running BSplayer/Moboplayer/Mxplayer etc the nook home grey bar doesn't disappear when playing a video.
The grey bar does go black but the screen doesn't expand to make use of the extra space that the stock nook video player uses. Is there a setting that makes the grey bar slide away like on the stock video player? If one player can do it hopefully the other player can be made to do the same, but I can't find a setting that allow this?
Cheers

Click to collapse
There is no setting to do what you want. And the bar turning black with tiny white dots is called "lights out" mode. It is to fool you into thinking it is gone. It is a "feature".
They only way to get the bar to disappear is with third party software like "GMD gesture control". That particular one is a paid software.

You can try a free application called "full!screen" to hide the gray toolbar.
This should work with any CM10. I wrote it for my TouchPad and it also works on my HD2
ToggleBarCM10.apk

full!screen needs access to system tools. Will this result in me never being able to let the tablet die for want of battery or rebooting? GMD GestureControl also requests the access to "modify system settings".
I'm fine with never turning it off but I am wondering if there are other ways that the 8loop bootloop can occur. I mostly use the Nook for satisfying an 18 year old habit of reading TIME magazine so I would prefer to be on stock rather than switch back and forth.
It really is weird...I can't eat cereal without reading last week's news on TIME
Man, I messed up that edit!
I will repeat.
It is ok to change system settings, just not /system. System settings is in /data.
Neither GMD or full!screen change /system.
Earlier I found full!screen did not work, but now it does.
Oh, it is a new version, that's is why it works now... and I just rebooted and no issues. It is awesome.

CM10 already contains the code to switch the bar on and off, it is call expanded desktop.
It is usually accessed through the power menu but some builds don't have that option enabled, still the "logic" (finishAnimationLw()) inside the android.policy.jar is always there and can be "activated" using a simple setting on the system database.
Not sure about the "new" fullscreen app, but the way GMD used to hide the bar was killing the systemui service.
"ToggleBarCM10.apk" just updates the setting db switching the value on and off, it doesn't do anything else. It's not going to affect /system.
I've been doing that for quite a long time on the TouchPad and other devices with CM9 and CM10.
Search for "No way to hide the bottom bar in CM9" and you will would find the thread in Rootzwiki with a lot of more info about it
I am running stock, rooted. I have disabled the navigation buttons(to prevent burn in) using LMT Pie Controls and now when I launch Plasma Sky and attempt to connect to Play Games I get the errors below. Once I dismiss the second pop-up the game closes.
Does anyone else have issues like that? Do you know what is causing it?
I don't get this error on other games...and I don't think I got it before disabling the navigation bar... Could that be it?
Thank you.
