HTC IME Keyboard [Froyo (2.2), QVGA]

I am here attaching a version of the HTC IME keyboard that works with Froyo (2.2) on QVGA devices. This will be hugely useful for ROM developers once 2.2 ROMS start becoming widespread. It will not work on 2.1, so it will be of limited use until the CM6 build is ready.

Jacob I m pretty sure that if someone edit the 1.5 version that I'm giving above, it will work. It just need the res files from the original HTC IME.

ROM/dev needed|Wildfire S [gingerbread with sense 2.1]

Hey guys,
I just started to port the wildfire s Rom which is gingerbread with 2. 1 sense to wildfire, but it doesn't boot :-(
I can't do logcat etc because I don't own a device so maybe someone can look into it and say what to fix and how and I will do this
I know its stupid to port for a device you don't own but for my hd2 there is nearly every Rom ported ^^
If nobody can help I will have to stop this..
I removed not needed apps and enabled a2sd and dalvik2sd and deodexed and zipaligned everything, task killer script and used dsixda kitchen to port it...

If u have some tips etc for me just send me a pm..
Well , it has been already ported to WF and working quite smooth and good , but some of feautures doesn't work like bluetooth and so on...
What's more the resolution doesnt fit , so almost all smallest show pop's and apps must be resized .
Look more into this thread , there are some logcats , maybe they will help you a bit.
Here
and here is the project which has ruined down , but some dev took control under this.
The last one is based on salsa which is an other device but the first link I already saw but didn't notice its from wildfire s
Okay maybe there is a way but I think its easier to do sth for my hd2e

well the resize is in the framework isnt it?
correct me if im wrong.
Which resize do u mean ?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
Of the resolution for the ui , apps etc

i think salsa is better choice as base because it has newer lockscreen and message app(similar to sense 3.0 ).
Yes maybe but the salsarom dont have weather animations in the htcflipclock.apk i think you can use the flipclock without weather animations on froyo ROMs too but im too lazy atm to copy the wildfire s based flipclock to the salsa based rom
But ethisch combination would be handsome

I'll give this a shot during the weekend

Any progres with this rom?
nope i canĀ“t do anything because of missing device --> no logcat etc. :/
this is porting wildfire s to wildfire? if so, you say what to do, i will test it
I ported roms before and know how to do it, but it was not sense based rom. I think I can help you complete and test it.

you can port whatever pretty easily (w/ permission from whoever's theme of course)
but tsm parts is a lot of mods and not simple at that (took syoran a long time to get it going on the charge)
that being said as far as im concerned you would have permission to try and make that or anything else tsm related

[Q] DEVs, please help me!

Hi, I'm a 14 yo guy from Hungary. I think I'm an experienced user but n00b in development. And my dream is to become a developer. So I have these questions:
1: How can I port CM ROMs for x8?
2: How can I port from AOSP for x8?
3: What kind of PC do I need for it? (Like processor, RAM, etc...)
4: Do I need any programs on PC?
(I'm on windows xp professional)
Thanks anyway:

Android = linux so I would learn how to use linux

granted im no android dev. However I have created programs in JAVA and basic ( + alice but I dont really count that as coding )
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Sorry sorry mate
well your going to need ADB . and most computers out there can handle developing. so anything id say that is greater then XP could dev. but speed if you want it to bring down loading time is good but that comes at a price. if you wanted to be on the safe side get something with i3-i7 and DDR3 ram . did i mention learn how to code? that is most important part is learn the way Linux works. because android is basically Linux in mobile form.
look at the first link first and if it doesn't have what you need you can wing it using the 2nd which is your basic files your going to need..
(i hope this helps more then before )
