[Q] FLAC on the Atrix (Bell) - Atrix 4G Android Development

Hey guys,
How would we enable NATIVE FLAC playback on the Atrix?
I'm so used to having Cyanogenmod and now i'm stuck with a FLAC collection I cant play on Atrix.
I realize andLess would play it, but it is sooo laggy. I am wondering if there is a way to do this natively?
thanks

If there is a way to play FLAC on the Atrix I'm so keeping this phone for quite a while and maybe throw my iPod out of the window lol

google ?
http://the-b.org/FLAC_on_Android
also please try the general questions area and not the developer area

Will editing the manifest.xml break the phone or cause boot loops in anyway?
I've got the Bell Atrix and no way to restore if it boot loops (no sbf)

This is for "enabling" FLAC when you want to recompile Android. This manifest isn't on your phone.
And....you don't want to touch anything if you haven't got any SBF for restoring your phone.

I play FLACs all the time on my Atrix with PowerAMP. No problems whatsoever.

[Q] DRM WMA Audio Files?

Hi I'm a NOOB (btw loved the video) and have a couple of questions of the SME's here that I haven't been able to find an answer already posted here.
I just purchased a HTC Incredible S phone. Love the phone BUT ... I sync'd music using the HTC software with WMP v11. Now for some reason it didn't copy all my music over, although its all setup legitimately in WMP. I was able to move the files over doing a copy/paste once I found the correct host folder on the HTC drive. The missing files play now. What WON'T play are what I suspect are WMA DRM protected audio files. And I have read here they won't.
I'm curious why? I have an old Sony Walkman and it's software imports the DRM license to play on that device fine so whats missing from this "incredible" phone?
Is the only way of getting them to play is to convert to MP3 (stripping them of the license)?
I found this //drm-removal.net/player-tips/transfer-itunes-m4p-music-to-htc-evo-desire.html product that does that. Does anyone have any experience with this?
It bothers me that I need to remove a valid license to play this music. I would have hoped that the smart phone would have been as smart as the Sony Walkman for this
Guess I'll answer my own question for the benefit of others. I ended up purchasing DRM Removal from iSkySoft and it did the trick. Easily creates MP3's for you from your WMA files and has conversion feature for video to play on the HTC phones too ... added bonus it formats to the correct resolution for your phone too. (I don't work for the company ... just trying to help others as there seems to be a lot of questions at this forum but seldom answers... and as I'm not permitted to post the URL please PM if you want it or google it.)
Thanks for posting your fix, may well be of help to others.

[Q] Unsupported file type - pop up when playing video

Hello
I recently rooted my phone and tried a few roms but found most had glitches.
So after some messing about i went back too stock again (BASE-XXJVO/KERNAL-BOJV8/BUILD NUM-GB.BOJV8) and ever since doing that i have been unable too play certain video files.
I will record a video using default or edited setting and i get the same result when i play the file "Unsupported file type" pop up.
Even if i record 30seconds or 3minutes of footage i get the same result when i try play it,even though i can see it recording. At most i have got a couple of files that have stayed on the phone as normal but most record then just come up with a black box in the gallery.Sometimes the file does not appear at all.
Any ideas as too how too fix this,i did try downloading mx video player and installed codecs but that didnt make a difference.
Thanks calz
Get mobo player from market that should hopefully work for you
Insanity cm032/platypus neo9 redux 5
Act 1 video player will solve your problems!
Thanks for the replies.I will give them players a go.
I really think there is a problem with the camera firmware/apk or hardware related and would prefer too find a way of fixing that.
But in the mean time if i can at least get the camera working until that point then its worth a try.

Motorola xoom sound problem

I have been using Motorola xoom since last 6 month. Initially it was running on Honeycomb but later on i upgraded it to the ICS 4.0.4. When it was running on Honeycomb i could play audio files on some websites very well( like online news, live audio from FM stations etc). Flash player was also installed on it by default. After i upgrade it to the ics 4.0.4, i downloaded flash player from adobe archive page and installed the latest one " Flash player 11.1 for Android 4.0(11.1.115.27) . Now i can play such kind of audio files but after few minutes i hear annoying noisy sound which even becomes worse afterward. It has been a permanent problem, few minutes running very well and afterward making noise. I would like to know any techniques to get rid of it. Can i still go back to honeycomb version without losing its performance. Is there any other solution to that. Waiting for reply.

[Q] Android 2.3.x FLAC support

Hi,
I'm a Galaxy Mini user and now are almost 3 years I am using this phone.
I have flashed and enjoyed so many roms in this forum and I have been very excited about the developement of first CM9, CM10 and now CM11.
I think CM9 is the highest upgrade that our mini can reach having good performances and sufficently new stuff and interface, however, for my needs, cm7.2 is still the most stable and efficient android version, with the best battery life and performances compared to all others.
I don't really feel the need to have a newer Android version and, yes, I'm happy with this low-end phone.
The only thing I really would like to understand and the only reason which keep me looking at CM9 is the native flac support.
I think this is the only lack of gingerbread, if this could be supported, I would definitely go for that.
Now, I know there are 3party player and also that Cm7.2 player plays flawlessy FLAC files, but the problem is not with local files, stored on my SD, but with DLNA support.
The only application i found that can stream FLAC files from my NAS is BubbleUpnp but is really too heavy and cpu-stressing, making phone quite unusable.
UpnPlay was perfect and very lightweight, it was exactly what i needed but under gingerbread is unable to stream FLAC files due to unsupported file type, while on CM9 can.
Mp3 files are streamed perfectly also in cm7.2, obviously, but it is quite impossible and also absurd to have the whole media library on my server both in FLAC and mp3 format when it could be possible just to keep the highest-quality format one.
It's not a matter of quality, I know my phone wouldn't take any kind of benefict in sound quality, good music can be listened only on an axcellent hi-fi system, but of practicality.
So, is there anyone that can tell me if there is a way to implement the native support of this files? Any mod/engine? It would be very important.
I know that some others phones have customs cm7 builds with this kind of feature built-in, so I think should be possible to add the support to versions of android under 3.x, as Gingerbread.
Thanks in advance and I would really appreciate you if can give me some informations.
