Hello Kinda newbie question, maybe not? not to sure im new at this forum but ive heard great reviews of the knowledge of the members, i have a particular question ive looked around, but couldnt find anything on Downgrading the cupcake 1.5 back to stock or RC30, i mean is this possible by any means, im actually wondering because i wouldnt mind flashing the new HERO ROM on my G1 looks really interesting, if anyone knows anything or share their own thoughts that would be awesome!!
Once you have rooted your phone, you can flash to any rooted ROM... RC33, ADP1, Cupcake 1.5, Hero, etc

does it matter if i am already running the CRB43 build?
Sorry, missed where you said "stock" in the first message. So do you want to unroot and go back to the official software? In that case, flash the DREAIMG.NBH file again, then wait for the OTA update.
If that's not what you want.. Clarify, I'm confused.
well i was able to flash the phone back to RC29 i was rooting the phone but i stupid ass loads the new SPL that was for the HERO rom and now the phone is officially bricked no recovery mode or rainbow screen haha..!! fudge!...im thking of going to the tmobile store and just say i accidentally dropped it and phone shut off and when i turned it on it was stuck??? i did pre order the mytouch...but yeah man last night turned out to be a disaster now im stuck with a blackberry pearl for now lol.. thanks tho at least we learn from out mistakes
You can also try playing dumb and just say that there was a new update available and you hit OK, then the screen went blank and now it won't turn back on...

haha yeah thats actually a good one..but the phone stuck on the TmobileG1 splash, the is still under warranty so im thinking it would cover it..i got it 2 months ago i believe
Good luck with it, most people seem to be able to get a new phone.
There's also an entire thread about this just a few under yours: Lying to T-Mobile to Get Bricked G1 Fixed or something like that...

yeah true...i do wonder but i dont think so...everyone usually gets their share i mean..like i bring in my dead phone, theres usually a factory warranty HTC covers the damage, tmobile loses nothing since most likely they get credited for the Returned Mechandise, if its a bricked phone HTC, theyll most likely flash the chipset via Jtag or something u know...kinda crazy in a way cause what do you think might happen if there was no factory warranty

I went to a Tmo store and one of the employees told me to get it rooted when i asked for a sim unlock and gave me the xda site haha

haha even they knows whats uP! this is a great community man lots of knowledge to be gained here..im still like stuck with the whole Rooting and stuff of the G1, this is really new to me but im hoping i read everything on here till my head pops open, i was able to downgrade it but i dont know wasnt too sure about the root maybe thats why it bricked

Ya I lurked these forums and decided to get a G1 because of all the activity here. Got rooted about 2 weeks after messin around with cupcake.
I decided to up my resale value by unlocking it after so hehe I went to the tmo store to see if i really could (i didnt get my phone from tmo and i still got my unlock code today haha)

lol..cool i should do that next i was finally able to do the whole Hero Rom bit slow but i like the new features its great..this website is like the holy bible for tech people seriously its a bad ass site!
Hi everyone im new here to XDA and just got a quick question
I flashed Cyanogen 4.0.4 rom and everything works amazing!
only odd problem I have is that when I lock screen I see Rogers (operator name)
twice! really odd....

I dont want to sound like a mean idiot but, youre gonna try a new rom just because of that? How often do you study your lockscreen? If your gonna change roms just flash again id say and see what happens

Honestly I had the same issue on my phone. I flashed 2 other phones the exact same way and they did not have the same issue. Pisses me off. Its the reason I moved to Hero ROMs that don't give me the issue.
ok ive just ordered a hd7 from mobiles.co.uk on o2 and i see there are a few things that you can do to get roo (sorry ex android user) and change a few things e.g latest firmwares etc on here.
i was wondering can anyone point me to a starting point on all this or give me some search terms and i will look for it.
not too sure where i begin basically to getting the most out my phone. hope someone can help.

Believe me if I knew how to get my hd7 started I'd tell you but I don't. Everything is all over the place nodo, pre nodo goldcard it all doesn't make sense to me so ill just wait for mango.

i found that looking on here its all so over the place, nodo, mango, gold card, jailbreak and all the version numbers. there seems to be no outright idiots guide. i been rooting and hacking and playing with roms on android for ages. im still figuring how to intall non market aps and to debrand my o2 lol
Ill find out how and try to make a guide real soon its high time I make my useless hd7 usefull

well i've just got my hd7 and i'd love to help if there was anyway i can - also i just connected mine upto the pc first time and 1.7gb is reserved on the memory - any idea what for - know its not alot but when were stuck on 16 its kinda annoying lol.
but would love to help with a guide sure this phone can do loads just seems no central help for it lol

I am of the general opinion that Mondays hate everyone and should be incorporated into the weekend. Better yet, we should work 2 days a week and have 5 off. Lol.
