Media Scanner causes playlists to erase every song - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever my phone says "Media Scanner running" after only mounting my phone with my computer, it erases everything in my playlists. They completely empty out. The playlist itself is still there, but all of the songs inside are gone. For some reason, I have one playlist that consistently keeps a single song (the same one everytime) in the playlist, but any other song in the playlist will disappear.
I prefer to use winamp, but this issue is with every media player.
I've done a lot of searching and googling, and all I've found were a few others with this same issue, but nothing to fix this problem. I'm running Serendipity 6.3. Any ideas?
EDIT: This has happened on any ROM I use.

samsung Music player problem

Hi guys, this is my first post as I just got my Samsung galaxy from Bell.
I have done everything I know how to fix this problem, but i still have it.
I have searched the forum here for a possible solution, but it seems no one has posted this issue, so I maybe the only one who has it. I have also tried to reset the phone to no avail.
The problem I am having is with the samsung music player. I have synced my music collection with windows media player. Everything was great, my playlists and music synced perfectly. I noticed a problem however, when I went to click the next song button in the music player. It would just keep repeating the same song over and over again, it would not skip to the next song, it would just replay the same song over again. However when I set it to shuffle, the skip button worked and played a random song in the playlist.

Therefore I was wondering if I could do anything, that allows me to to move onto the next track.
I have tried other media players from the android store, but none can pickup the synced playlists from windows media player.

Disappearing Playlists

Has anyone noticed any issues where sync'd playlists just randomly disappear from the phone? I have tried iSyncr and Tunesync and both work well for getting my iTunes lists over to the phone, but lately every couple days the lists are just gone, files removed from SDcard. All the music and album are is there, but the playlists themselves are missing.
I use both the PowerAmp beta and the WinAmp beta as my players of choice. I am running one of the Cognition 2.2beta9.x releases. The most unusual thing is the stock player is still showing the playlists accurately.
My two thoughts are either the stock player is "importing" the playlists and for some reason removing the files or there is something wrong with the WinAmp beta that caused them to delete. I have just uninstalled winamp and will wait and see if it happens again, but thought I would ask if anyone else has seen this behavior.
Thanks.
I have same problem. Galaxy S Fascinate (Telus) - I'd synchronize my m3u playlists using media monkey. File manager would show that all playlists were present and MediaMonkey would "see" and play all songs within every playlist. But after removing phone (safely) the Music Player would only see a small subset of the number of playlists. Android File Manager would also only show the same small subset. All the rest had disappeared!
I discovered a workaround - Create 2nd Backup folder for Playlists. Create a .nomedia file in the backup folder. Copy all Playlists into Backup folder while hooked up to PC. When unhooked, see which playlists are missing and copy them from Backup folder to Playlist folder. They stick around now.

Playlists on 2.0 beta

What is the best method for getting the tab to recognize my playlists. I use Mediago to sync and transfer for both my Xperia X10 and My Tab. The format is m3u. Playlists worked fine on froyo, but on 2.3.3 the tab only picks up 2 or 3 of my playlists randomly. Ive tried deleting all music from my tab and resyncing, again it only picks up 2 - 3 random playlists and thats it. I though it might be an issue with power amp, so i switched to player pro, still didnt pick up my playlists. Ive tried playlist purge and playlist clean, still no go. Ive tried forcing media resync as well as trying it with ./no media inside my music folder to see if the apps themselves would recoginize them, and moving my playlists to theyre own sub folder. Playlists seem to be tied to some database in the OS, but where and how do you clear it or fix it. Id rather not have to manually create my playlists on the tab itself as I have approximately 25 of them.
Anyone have any suggestions please let me know.
NVM, figured out a workaround for now. Seems like the media scanner only picks up 1 playlist at a time....so......i had to do media scan 25 consecutive times just to get all my playlists

Media list reset?

Hi,
Tried googling about my really ANNOYING problem. My Music app or Winamp no matter which one since they all use the same Media "List" from android gets totally messed up.
Ie, if I want to go see Albums, It makes a "Album" in the list of each song in the Album. So if I want to listen to a Album I choose a Album from the List but It just contains One(1) song which is in that Album.
I cleared data for Music and Winamp and used Dev Tools Media scanner with no luck. Any tips?
I would try removing all the music on your SD card and recopying it. (If you have a card reader I would use that because it will be much faster then via usb)

[Q] Music sync issue

Has anyone come across this problem recently?
I have been happily syncing playlists to my sd card via musicbee on my pc for ages now. Flashing Rom's on and off with no issues (currently on Crash rom v10.1plus).
Suddenly my music all went to pot. So, I have done a clean install of my note (formatted everything) top start again.
Now whenever I sync my music I don't get the tags accross onto the phone. In other words I get "unknown" Artist/Album etc.
I have tried musicbee (which I have used for ages without problems) and now mediamonkey to see if it was musicbee causing the problem. It's the same whatever windows software I use to sync with.
However if I just copy and paste one of my music folders it all appears on the phone fine. This method isn't really a useable one for me as I have an extensive music collection thet won't all fit on my phone so I like to sync playlists so I get my favourite subset of my music at any one time and can change it as my mood changes.
Anyone else noticed this and/or have any idea how it can be fixed?
EDIT: Just noticed that If I sync an album manually the tags go over ok but if I make a playlist of the same album and sync the playlist the tags don't go over??
