Best Alarm Clock? - Captivate Themes and Apps

Is it Alarm Clock Xtreme? Why do there not seem to be any alarm clocks as good as G-Alarm?

Samsung Clock imo.
The Smart Alarm that wakes you gently 5 mins before the "GET THE F$%@ OUT BED!!!" screamer is awesome and makes a huge difference to the first 2 hours of my morning.

Alarmclock + works great for me .. great bedside clock and alarm

I really liked the Samsung app, but since switching to CM7, the Gingerbread alarm clock app leaves much to be desired... I, too would appreciate any recommendations for something as-good-as or better than the factory Samsung app.

+1 I agree!

I agree. The CM7 alarm is pretty rudimentary. What is really bothersome to me is the lack is a simple integrated timer (great for cooking and parking meters). The Samsung app did a great job of putting all time related functionality in one place.
What's the best clock/timer app out there?

+2 I agree as well. Alarm Clock + makes a dam fine addition to the bedside and has been responsible for getting me to work on time ever since I installed it.

Being "semi" retired with my own business I never need an alarm clock..but if I do, like if I having to make a plane flight or something...the stock app with the smart alarm works great IMO

I went ahead and bought UltraChrono - it will hold me over until someone brings something better to the market. It sucks having to use two different apps, but it's hardly a major inconvenience and functionality is the same.

G-Alarm for Android is in beta right now. Thats what I am using. It's shaping up nicely. They were shooting to be a final release by the end of March but they've missed that. It's my favorite so far though. You can get 5.2 Beta from Ageye.de if you have sideloading enabled.

+3 Alarm Clock Plus is awesome, so many things you can do with it.
I love the fact that I can run the weather widget, or a my own widget in its place and that I can customize it to start automatically on docking. And if want it to only start after 9pm when you dock? It can do that!

Animated Widgets On With Google devices?

In short, the application
Flip Clock beta
by
intuitit
There is a 4x2 flip clock widget.
It actually works, maybe it falls under the lines of not being animated but by peeping into taskiller while it's running I see an app script being ran and I'm sure if I were to close it the widget would stop.
But I think this is very interesting! Hopefully we start to see more innovative things such as this.
What does being animated have to do with it running a process... while it's running? Are you saying there is a flip annimation?

Yea the actual animation works on the widget, I think it works because when I peep into task killer it has that web page frame icon and I think it runs off of there.
In my opinion, the battery life sucks without a bunch of animations....

Oh a Widget Dev, we need to be friends I"m always full of ideas Lol.
But yea the g1's battery life is awful :/ I normally get 4 hours before I'm in the orange so now days I make it a game to see how far I can go after it dying, I think I got 7 hours once and that was the bees knees.
Wow really? My g1 goes for about 15 hours before dying, sometimes more, anyways id love to see some animations

Great Live Wallpaper Clock!

I just found this app, this is perfect for AMOLED screens. Looks great too.
This is not my app, just like to share it. Also the clock being wider than the screen is BY DESIGN, I like it, just like the ZuneHD/Windows Phone 7 UI.

That does look nice. But 69 cents? I thought the lowest it could get for developers was 99 cents? Well, whatever.

I'm wondering the same thing, lock screen clock gets in the way.
Can you change font size and the order the time and date are in? Curious before I buy.
I can see why but the free version is very limited so I can't really get a feel for if I'll like the paid version. Of course I could just try it I suppose, thanks to the 24hr refund policy
just bought it, it is only 69 cents. very cheap but looks great.
I'm worried about the battery drain. While it seems to not do as much depleting as other live wallpapers, my battery usage seems to be dropping faster than I'm normally used to. After a full night's charge, by the end of the work day (5 PM), with moderate use, I have roughly 50% or so left, give or take. It's currently 4 oclock and my battery is at 37%.
How is everyone else' experience with this wallpaper and battery?

Full version is updated with more options and better battery life optimization. And promise of weather info in the next update. Good wallpaper just got greater.
With the new update the time is not centered and I'm not really a fan of the bounce animation. Wish I could go back to 1.3.2 version.
nice concept, but... it's an aweful waste of space in the home screen real state
you have to sacrifice like 3 rows of icons to be able to see the time & date properly
i'll hard to integrate into any theme design
i'll stick to Fancy Widget for time + date + weather

Download widget locker from market. It basically adds another home screen for your lock screen that you can add/remove widgets (stock clock) to your liking. I use this anyways because it gives you access to your notification bar without having to unlock your phone and gives you many many more unlock options. It also gives you different slider options if you want to keep the feel stock or change it up.

Very interesting. Runs smooth on the Epic. One thing I really like about this one is that the pages/workspaces aren't compartmentalized. In other words you can put a button or a widget literally anywhere on the page rather than within the confines of the 4 x 5 grid (or whatever yours is set up as). There are hidden workspaces that are brought up by tapping out a code in the corners of the screens. The hidden workspace is a secondary collection of three additional workspaces...all ready for you to customize and hide.
Every time I try to change the wallpaper to something from my gallery the Media Scanner starts...that's annoying, but may not be a "Regina" thing as my phone is heavily modded. Once I finally did get to my gallery to change the wallpaper...guess what! Each workspace can have it OWN wallpaper! No kidding! Nice little surprise there.
Transitions are sweet, widgets are ok. I think the weather widget may be useless to many as the cities available appear limited, and you have to install add-ons to get it to work properly.
If you are intrigued by the SPB 3D launcher, you'll really like this one. It's a pretty giant step above SPB, and free. I can't wait to see how far they take this one.
Nice, i like it. its kindof like spb shell but its free! hah it has some good widgets and some good features. kind of slow but i think i might try it out for a day or two

I tried it and didn't like it. It's better then SPB (imo) but ultimately it doesn't do anything better, smoother or easier to use then what I already have on ADW EX. Sometimes it would be difficult to swipe between screens quickly which was annoying, the weather widget is pretty much useless, no widget resizing (I use desktop visualizer a lot for pics), and I didn't care for the style of app drawer. YMMV though.

Actually, widget size can be resized on some by clicking the little "i" button. I agree the app drawer is lame; the weather widget needs work (doesn't even have Chicago!). But give it some time. It doesn't even have a v1.0 yet.

I had to play around with the weather, but I finally got Charleston WV in there. If I can find that, then Chicago should be there. Im really liking it so far. Used Spare Parts to change animations to fast and its awesome. Love how you can have a different wallpaper for each screen, and also four private workspaces. It takes a little bit to figure out, but I am really impressed. You can also remove the weather and clock and use your beautiful widgets or whatever clock/weather that you normally use. Now if I can figure out a way to edit the icons or they fix that, I will be really impressed.

Guys. If you need to find your city and it's not in the list, simply go to Settings for the Clock & Weather Widget, click "Add Custom City", and type in your ZIP Code. The clock becomes a bit funky but after a bit of messing around, you should be able to get it to run nicely.

I was thinking the same thing as I was setting up my home screens in Spanish Class. Chi-Town represent!
No one has put yet that you can scroll through "workspaces" with the dock by dragging it left or right. Press home or pinch-to-zoom out to look at the sense style overview, then hold on a screen to go into add/delete screen mode. And there was something else that I can't remember right now lol.

[APP] 6/10 NFC Toggle Widget - Initial Release

Ok - up in the market. Currently a static black/white.
Future releases will contain customization options.

Any Interest in a simple 1x1 widget for toggling NFC? I can pull this out of NFC Task Launcher and stick it up as a free app in the market quite easily if there is interest.

sorry wrong thread. I'll take a look.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I see the issue - it also affects the bundled widget in NFC Task Launcher. I am currently on vacation but will update when I get back.
This is unpublished currently. Despite putting the issues with 2.3.5 in the description I'm getting 1 star reviews because Google changed the enable/disable methods while I was on vacation.
As I won't be home for another week to fix it, it's easier to unpublish than to deal with the glut of people who won't read the app description.
So, when I get back and can fix it I'll re-host it here. My apologies is this causes any issues between now and then.
Not great news - it doesn't look like any actual code changed from the enable/disable perspective. Unfortunately it's throwing an exception invoking the enable/disable methods via reflection. I'll continue to look into it, but it's a bit odd currently.

[Q] What happened to the S-Health Widget???

hey all,
So I received my S6 yesterday and have been spending the day setting it all to my liking. I have a Nexus 6 so ill be using the 20 day grace period to see if this phone is going to be the one i want to keep going forward.
I had the Note 4 and Galaxy s5 for a little bit and loved the S Health app/widget. the widget had the Coach by Cigna on it and could easily access the heart rate and pedometer info. I am using TW, havent done a thing to the phone but no matter what I do the S Health Widget only has the foot icon and step count....... What the heck happened to the awesome widget?? I failed to see a thread that discussed this so i figured I would give it a shot here...
Does anyone know how to get that widget back? I tried different launchers to see if that would help but it didnt... still only gave me the basic, ugly, useless 4x1 widget. Thanks in advance!! I attached the scrappy widget.
Love the forum... ive been browsing for years but never actually posted anything.
Guess no one likes S Health lol

The "temporary fix" is to uninstall the recent update. When the f**ktards at samsung made the app available via google store, they "updated" the interface, and now it looks like sh*t.
Uninstall the most recent update and don't update again until you can see if they redid the interface to be more attractive again. Its again the testiment to arrogant Ahole developers that think they have to materially change something by making it look less attractive or more like the latest microsoft windows trend.
In this case they took away a nice looking set of graphics, replaced it with a flat color box (or as in your case, the transparent one .. you do have that option transparent or solid green) and it looks like sh*t very disappointed.
Thanks for the reply. Still no fix to the widget so I guess unless I can install the note 4 version were screwed.

After you uninstall the newest version, you should have 5 widget options
if not familiar, to add a widget, long press on any page, click the "Widget" and then scroll backwards through the pages ("S" near the end of the widgets) until you get to S Health. It should appear to be at least 4 4x1 blocks, when you tap this, it should expand, and show you 5 widget options. The top two 4x1's show signa on them.
-TG2
No luck. Still only rhe one 4x1 with just the steps. I'm returning the phone anyway. 20 day period almost up and I'll be sticking with the Nexus 6. Camera great, but phone is not.
Thanks for your help though. That's why this is forum is best.
