Dell launcher (dev needed) - G Tablet Themes and Apps

So i port and found this launcher way back for my evo users and now that i just got my gtablet i was playing wit the launcher again which i believe is a 5" screen with landscape support. And it runs nice and smooth but the only problem is which i wish someone (dev) could do is edit the launcher icons ( phone icon ) and use something else to launch and also edit the widgets background to fit better with the icons. Because it overlaps a little off to the side were it suppost to be in the center.
Portrait the launcher looks good. But hope someone could play with it n make some fixes for landscape.
So here are the apks.....
you have to unzip the zip file with any file manager that support zip files from ur phone ( recommend astro file manager )...if not unzip from ur computer and copy the apk to sd card and download the apk like any other.
Enjoy hopefully a dev can help us out with this launcher ;-)

Better Cut Questions

Quick question for users of this app.
I have cyanogen's rom installed and a really awesome ahome theme developed by crazydudeproductions. I am getting horribly annoyed with the lag i get from ahome and am considering going back to the default android homescreen. I know i can use the same wallpaper for the default home screen. Will better cut allow me to change all the icons to match what i have with ahome? I don't have the actual resized icons, i just sent the photobucket links to crazydude. Do i have to resize those icons myself, or will better cut do that? Thanks for your time!
yes it can...but next time PLEASE put questions in the right fourm
Uh, if you can't post questions about an APPLICATION here then anyone who has ever posted about an application and then asked a question about it should have their thread removed. I'm from TX, but you must be from the country dude cause you are a dumbass!
save the theme you want to sd then transfer to your computer.. open it up with winrar or anything and in the drawable will be all the icons and they should be the right size.. from there put them on your sd and apply them all with better cut ..im pretty sure even if they are 60x60 as long as u use the use icon image option it will resize it by itself (which kinda sucks because u can never have anything but 48x48 on homescreen then)
You need to get the apk for the ahome theme you're using, extract them, and then either pack them into an icon pack apk or just put them in a folder on your sd card
Got my answer thanks to Draxter!
Thread can be closed, thks!

How do I apply wallpapers without hideous compression?

As we all know, the CoolIris gallery on the Nexus One makes compressed versions of the pictures it has for faster loading times and smoother 3D effects. However, I was not expecting to see the same hideous compression on the wallpapers I download and then apply from the Gallery. They look simply rubbish in the display and that's disappointing. I've attached a screenshot of how this actually looks. The actual wallpaper is actually quite crisp and sharp.
Is there any other way to apply a wallpaper without using the gallery and consequently having it compressed?
Sent from my Nexus One
Try wallpaper set an save from the market. I only saved a bg, but see if it does the trick

Nope, still looks compressed. Any other options?
Bump. Anyone?
link me the full size picture (upload somewhere) and i'll try a few things here.
The only solution i have found, was to add the wallpaper i didnt want compressed to a launchers default wallpapers. I use ADW, so I replaced the default adw wallpaper with the htc sence wallpaper (the static one). Had to make sure it has the same file name as the one its replacing. I originally did this using metamorph, but that stopped working, so I use "App Manager 4.5" (google it). I copy the AWD Launcher's apk file and use app manager to unzip it, I then replace the wallpapers I want and use app manager to recompile the apk making it usable on the N1 again, and it works like a charm.
The sense wallpaper no longer has the hideous compression it has when applied through the gallery, I was hoping this would be solved with froyo's release, if only to be applied to wallpapers only, but I guess not, till then, this is the method I have to use for the wallpapers which are affected.
I use "My Gallery" to avoid the wallpaper banding issue. It by-passes the 3D Gallery when choosing an image to be set as a wallpaper. The troubles with "My Gallery" are 1) it cant crop the image to fit the phone resolution. So large images must be pre-cropped. 2) The image organization is horrible. It doesnt have any function to go to specific directory. It'll just dump every image it could find on the SD or internal mem. If you have loads of images, there'll be a lot of scrolling involve.

[WAD2 Theme] Angularz - WVGA

Hi All, thought I would publish my first effort at a WAD2 theme. My main aim after using other peoples themes was to make one that is 'thumb friendly' and real simple to use. It has 3 menu pages with large graphical buttons, and a 'home' screen with shortcuts to txt, email and call list. this theme is 99% portrait, how ever on my touch pro 2 if i flip the keyboard and go to landscape i do have a very basic black home screen with the 3 shortcuts. If people like the theme and would like to produce their own icons, let me know and I can post up some photoshop templates.
Installation
Install the files to your normal theme directory and search for new themes, then select Angularz as your portrait and/or landscape theme. Please make sure you install the fonts prior to use, as it may not the clock etc correctly.
Fonts
I use helvetica Neue fonts in the theme and have supplied these in the zip file. I also have replaced my system font with helvetica as it looks nicer, but I will leave that down to you. If you just want to use the fonts for WAD only, place the 3 helvetica fonts in your windows folder (with the rest of the system fonts)
I think I have packaged up all the correct bits (if not please let me know!!)
PLEASE CAN A MOD ALLOW ME TO SHARE LINKS!!
This looks neat. Nice docks.
good day.
it's just WOW!!
Thankyou!, I just wanted something simple but visually nice to look at, and this is the end result!
I find that if you increase the display cache size (through altering the windows registry) it does make it scroll through pages a little smoother.
thatbastard,
I'm using your theme and IMO, it is a simple but gorgeus. However, I have a problem with all notifiers. They are not appeared when I have some unread sms or missed calls. Do you have any suggestions? My device is Omnia i8000.
hi Laruku
You can try going to author mode, then page - show notifiers. Go to the properties once held down on the notifier and have a look through there. Mine is set on 'notifier type - unread sms' etc. by default this should work, however I dont know how different it would be on an omia. have a look in there and see if anything has changed.
how do you get out of author mode
taphold at any page and you'll get yourself the popup menu, i forgot which is the get out of author mode menu,,, but it is there,,,
@thatbastard,
would you mind sharing the images? the home wallpaper is really nice.
new version of WAD converts all the images folder into .wadesktop extension,,, which prevents me for extracting the images,
thx
here's my version
hello everybody !
Here's MY angularz, i hope you'll like this.
Koralii
you can see this on Youtube : v=GXtEynNZaf4 (sorry but i'm new here and can't post the shortcut.
Great Work
Great to see an original piece of work. i will give this a shot
Thanks for adding a bit of originality to my blackstone
Mark
Looks great !!!
wow, great theme
i think i'll make some personal changes and it'd be perfect for my daily use, YO~
DOOD JOB!!
Really nice. It's a shame, imo, that windows phone7 doesn't look more like this. My only comment would be that it might look better to have the text in panels up and to the right a few pixels, and have the voicemail icon transparent. (I can only comment on the screenshot as I don't have VAD2 installed on my device...
Thought it would be handy to have a volume icon on the home screen...
Steve.
Hi all, thanks for checking out my theme, Ive glad youve all liked it. Unfortunately I dont have wisbar installed anymore (and Ive had a lot goin on recently) so will not be continuing anymore projects but I thought I would share the remaining files I have. You can continue modding from my theme as freely as you like, as long as you mention it was based on my creation

Sure, there should be a zip file with ALL the angularz images. Ive also included a new homescreen which is a gloss black version (was going to be called Mono Tonez) but it will not be finished.
Enjoy!
good looking theme
willing to release a WQVGA version?
I´m new user of wad and i don´t know how to install this theme. I´ve installed mortscript and wad, and theme in lakerbridge/themes, and fonts in windows/start menu/programs fonts folder, but I don´t know where install angularz.wadesktop
Thanks a lot of.
Uncle Google says:
1. Using ActiveSync, copy the .wadesktop file to any location on your device.
2. From your device, use File Explorer to navigate to the .wadesktop file you just placed there, then tap on it to launch it.
3. You will be prompted as to a location to place the extracted files. Choose any location you wish (I personally find it helpful to have a Themes folder set up in advance).
4. Once the files are extracted, open WisBar Advance Desktop (if it's not open already), tap and hold on the screen, then tap Change Theme.
5. Now tap Menu > Scan for Themes. When the scanning process is complete, the theme you just installed should appear on the list.
6. Tap the theme, then tap Menu. Choose the appropriate menu option for setting as portrait or landscape. Please note that theme files are usually designed for one orientation or the other.
7. Tap Apply and you're done.
This should get you set up.
Thank you, uncle...
I´ll try.

How to make a Sense like theme for GB builds

Hi
I think as all of you, I also miss the Htc SENSE look on the Gingerbread,
I run " HyperDroidGBX-v11 " - found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918899&page=983
and, I have missed the Sense look very much.
-In first please you have to install ADW luncher EX
- it as your primary luncher (not a must)
- your dock you chosen as a dock background (windows button-more-ADWSettings-UI Settings-Main Dock)
if you are running 167 density ( a default in GBX ) you will need one of mine provided at the bottom of my post.-you would have to set the dock to have 5 icons
-the one on the left side should be ap drawer, the 3 midle ones should be dialer, or phone ap you are using
-then you should change icons to transparent ones provided (BLANK.png)
you can edit, change or do anything you want with the provided files
just push the Tanxs buton
ps, there are two .psd (photoshop) files, you can edit as you like

ICS launcher bar fix.

As you guys can tell, the ICS launcher looks nice, but it's dock bar is off. With a little photoshop skills, I made it look a lot more like ICS. Just get your ICS launcher .apk, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14049173 to get into a folder, go to "drawable-port-hdpi" and copy and replace the file attached. Then recompile it and put the new apk onto your phone, then re-install it. Maybe some people may not care, but this drove me crazy and I had to fix it.
