[Q] Back Button Problem for i9000T - specifically - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so i have found several threads referring to this but mostly speak of a possible fix where we are supposed to do *#*#2663#*#* and upgrade the touch key FW.
There is a disclaimer where it specifically says it is for the i9000M with some people getting errors after doing it on non i9000M devices.
So does anyone know if this solution works for the i9000T version or if there is another way to disable this?
I can live without screen capture so if anybody knows how to simply turn that off i would also appreciate.
thank you

[Q] Can't get into service mode

Hi everyone,
I'm using SGS Indian version with stock 2.1 i9000DDJG4. I can't get into the service mode on my phone using *#*#197328640#*#*. Though I'm able to use most of the other codes Test mode, GPS settings etc.
When I dial the service mode code nothing happens, the code disappears and keypad remains on the screen and no service mode settings appears.
I wanted to try the sound quality fix from supercurio
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7358990&postcount=14
I also tried the following app but no benefit. The app also just dials the code. When I click Service Mode from the app, just keypad appears nothing else
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772690
Any idea ??
Thanks in advance

It might help if you would use the correct code: *#197328640#
Hi Richthofen,
Thanks for your reply. I tried the code you posted *#197328640# and got the same result. After dialing code disappears as it should, but nothing happened.
Should I flash to any other rom? Do anybody have I9000DDJG4 original rom's backup? Actually I want to flash to any 2.2 rom available here. But want a backup of my stock rom. In case I want to claim warranty I can flash back to my original stock rom.
Sorry if I asked any obvious question. Actually its my first Android phone so don't have any experience.
Thanks

Anybody here using Galaxy S Indian version with I9000DDJG4 stock firmware can please check if they can get into service mode and reply ?
Thanks

[Q] Capacitive buttons (home and back) wont work anymore [SOLVED!]

Hey there,
I recently screwed around with something i shouldn't have (the touchscreen FW option in SGS Tools) and "updated" the firmware for the touchscreen and touchscreen buttons.
Now the main problem appears that back & home will not work no matter where they are... and it is getting quite annoying.
Any ways to fix this?
already tried flashing a 512pit and re-partitioning but it still doesnt work.
JUST FIXED IT:
Solution incase anybody else has a problem with this.
Get an original firmware for your phone (eg mine is a Bell GT-i9000m so i got the JH2 Firmware which provides FW version 0x2/0x02)
all i did then was hit "touch key FW Update" and it flashed the firmware to the originals that work with the hardware.

Eh sorry, but can you clarify this. Where did you get the stock JH2 from and how did you flash it? Can you flash it on the phone if it's already running JH2?
Thanks
I have the same problem.
Can someone help me?

could I get this on a samsung captivate? Im new to this-any detailed steps would be greatly appreciated!

[Q] Q: Telstra ROM screen timeout will not come back on

I have a pre-release Galaxy Tab with slightly different hardware (no camera button). I have flashed the stock Telstra ROM and all works fine....EXCEPT...
Whenever the screen times out, or I manually press the power button to turn off the screen...it will not turn back on!
I always have to reboot.
I have tried re-flashing, and also flashed a different ROM then back to Telstra but it does not seem to matter.
Any ideas?
NOTE: I am VERY new to this flashing business so don’t get too technical on me.
As far as I know my galaxy tabs DON'T have camera buttons so I don't know of what tab you have...
If it was a Telstra tab, p1000t ( written on the back near the base) then it runs at 850mHz, if it was a tab from elsewhere then its probably a p1000 and runs at 900mHz.
If you flashed a straight Telstra rom where the modem.bin file hasn't been changed with one compatible to your radio this may cause problems but I wouldn't think it would stuff up the screen...
You need to clarify what have you done, is the tab rooted, is it a custom rotohammer copy of a Telstra rom, what type of tab you actually have... Then we might be able to help....
Ahhh, cool. Sorry for the confusion.
This is a GT-P1000
I am pretty sure it runs on 850 as it was a Telstra device.
It is NOT rooted and did not have anything else done to it. When I got it, it had a very vanilla Android build (didn't even have Gmail). Using ODIN 1.7 I flashed several different ROMs until I found one that worked.
I used gt-p1000_mr.pit
And then the Telstra moddem.bin and TelstraP1000TDVJJ3.tar ROM that I saw posted on this site. They all work except for this on/off issue
I only managed to get one other ROM to work (JHA.tar) but it keeps giving me the "Kernel Panic" error so is not stable. I have tried following the Overcome instructions but they do not work for this either.
Do I need to do something else on this machine to get the Telstra ROM working? Any ideas why it dies every time the screen times out?
Thanks

I'm trying to use Odin to Fix my soft bricked i537 AT&T version, however I can't find the stock firmware for the S4 active anywhere. Can you please send me a link if you have one. And how did you solve the problem. I'm not sure using Odin will even solve my problem, however it seems similar to yours. Thanks in advance.
