Would something like this require root?
I'm looking for a simple app that does nothing more then empty the Trash mail folder any/a designated mail account.
If you mean for gmail, the trash deletes itself after 30 days. You will never run out of space.

No I mean for the stock client. The guy who can put this app in the market for 99 cents will make a fortune!

Quite a few of you have asked me about the Facebook not syncing with 2.3.4 since Google decided to make it a no-no...Below is a link to a compiled .apk file that, hopefully, fixes the syncing problem.
*ContactsProvider.apk* TESTING ONLY and not responsible if something bad happens!! What I can say is that I have been running this on my phone with no problems but since I don't use Facebook..maybe someone else can let me know.
- Lastly, do NOT sign the .apk
- push to /system/app

SyncMyPix works well
I can't wait to see it working on my Xoom. I really hope your solution will be universal.
Also, I cannot test on my Nexus S, as CM7 has already the sync working.
So, is this a working solution?
I just picked up a NS4G and would love to get this working.
same here. as a matter of fact, why did google decide to go against this?

They wanted the data to be synced to the contact so that it would be on Google's servers... i.e. their picture is uploaded to the server, and no longer requires Facebook sync for the data.
Yes those are the rules for using Google's contact API. The philosophy is that the user should be able to export and have control over data his contacts have shared with him. Facebook wants all that data to stay in the Facebook system. They do not want to allow you to export or own or have control of your friends contact info outside of Facebook.
The rule has always been there and Facebook has always violated it. This is Google's way of letting them know they are not happy about it even though they continue to let it slide on pretty much all other devices.

Any news on this app would like to resync them again thanks
I've been using an apk called syncmypix and it works wonders..

It sync's the pix, there are dozents of tools like that...we need a data sync tool which sync's fb data, not only pics, with the phone contacts...
I've been using Contapps (also on the Android Market) to get around this issue.
Works great.
Actually, Contapps is a good app and can sync with social networks, including Facebook.

Maybe someone clever enough should just have a look into Cm7 source code or just ask the team. They have the answer and I am sure they are willing to share.

The Facebook app package name just needs to be added to the various unrestricted packages lists. Then its free to do whatever with your data, ignoring Google's restrictions.
I will try and find out exactly which parts of code it requires changed some time this week, I believe its XML only.

Or....
Go here: http://www.koushikdutta.com/2008/10/synchronizing-google-and-facebook.html.
Install on your PC. Run. Log in. Boom, synced.
Thanks to Koush.
That's not the same thing as what the Facebook app does. Koush's app just takes the photo from Facebook and updates the photo in your Google Contact entry for the person. That photo is then permanent until you manually remove it on the Google Contacts website.
The Facebook app only stores the photo in the person's contact on your phone, but not in the actual Google contact entry. The advantage of this is that if you remove Facebook, the pics go away as well. It keeps Facebook and Google Contacts separate. This is how Twitter, Last.FM, Qik, et al do it.

I know. I like that better. I did not like syncing photos, then I log into Gmail Contacts and all the photos were gone. I like to have the photos in Gmail too.
But my post really was in reply to another user who suggested another 3rd party app to sync the pictures. I meant to quote his post but I did not.

Gotcha, thanks. Afaik, CM and some other chefs have the requisite info to bypass goog's restrictions and allow syncing. Maybe we can reach out to them and they'll be kind enough to share the solution?
Hi
Just set up my work pop email all OK but can't find a print button to send to wireless printer!?!?!
Am I missing something or is this not something I can do?
I use an app called PrinterShare that does a nice job.

You'll wanna use something like "print share" app. I fill out real estate contracts on my tablet sometimes and it let's me print not only to any printer on the current WiFi network but also to any printer that has the client software running on it. Well worth the few bucks IMO.

Epson and Brother (maybe others) have free apps if you have one of those brands.

Does anyone know if I could send email to a pdf printer (to generate a pdf file). I want this as I can use pdf annotator to make additional notes to my emails.
This is probably the ONLY thing I've NEVER done with an Android tablet [yet].
My SIII has support for Printing, but it's unclear if Samsung did something or pre-installed some app to enable this... It would be nice if the OS just did this natively, I'm surprised you have to install an app, but that sounds simple enough... Damn, maybe I should be making printer apps instead of security apps, eh?
I just log on in to my dropbox account in my new One but I still only have 2GB of space, I wonder if I have to make a new account to be able to get the 25GB?
Edit: I just got an email from Dropbox to claim my promotional 23GB of space, just click the link on the email and follow the instructions. Mods you can erase this thread or keep it as reference for others.
How did you get your email?
Nevermind I literally just received email after messing with app.
It kinda was a pain because had to be done by computer and my Microsoft surface Pro has apps and desktop programs so even though I had dropbox app installed it wouldn't give me free space until I downloaded program to my desktop. :what: oh well just removed it afterwards.

Anyone have a way to sync Facebook contacts in JB 4.3 like the one in Sense? Is there a way to pull that file and install it?

HaxSync
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Sorry should have been more clear... To import fb contacts like stock.
My understanding is all these apps can do is add photos to existing contacts.
Or does it pull all fb contacts and show them under people?
I know its just a buck, but I don't feel like paying for something that won't work....
Anyone confirm how haxsync work?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Well that was a waste of a buck. Haxsync was worthless. All it did was pull birthdays and events for fb contacts. Didn't do anything to pull contacts and their numbers to integrate with phone book.
Plenty of other free apps that could have done this without paying.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Contacts+ is free and syncs with Facebook and g+. I like it
I went back to Sync.me.
I thought maybe since HaxSync was paid might have Facebook contact number capability...
But I think no 3rd party app is capable of it.
Tried contacts+ its OK but nothing spectacular. Sync.me pulled contact information from people that were in my phone but not my Facebook friends off their public profiles.... So now I even have pictures to their names....Useful for like employees, where you don't necessarily want them as Facebook friends but need their number in your phone book.

My facebook account can't sync with HTC Sense 5
I've tried 20 apps and I don't really like most of them.
What are ppl using?
I honestly liked the old 4.1 stock app and want something similar.
I want manual sync, but I want the app to auto sync upon opening, which surprisingly none of them do. I know u just have to pull down to sync, but hey, one less step, is one less step.
I also am having trouble finding an app where u can easily delete from the app. I think I'm deleting emails throughout the day, only to find them all still there when I go to hotmail on my computer.
When I hit delete, I want it to delete, not go to trash so I have to open an entirely different folder and delete that for it to really be gone.
I'm just going to keep trying them, but if you guys have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

I use OWA Webmail app. As my employer has prevented me configuring mail apps for our exchange server. This one works though!
try this Email Mail Exchange @Blue
Have you tried Mailbox by Dropbox? I've been using Inbox by Google since it came out. I like the idea but it can get confusing at times. Gonna give Mailbox a try since it comes highly recommended.
Aquamail
I'm actually using Lollipop Gmail, considering it now supports other mail accounts natively.
Of course, it doesn't have any fancy features... But I enjoy it. It works well.

Profimail for corporate mail and Inbox for Gmail.
It will be great when the guys release the feature of getting mail from Exchange.
