I love transparent things. No idea why, but i do.
Ideally, I would like to be able to simple flash over some MOD's that gave me a transparent notification bar, and lots of nice transparent widgets- FB, Messaging, etc etc
I know this is asking a lot, but any help, even pointing me in the direction of an app or a way of moding it myself (although i am inept at themeing etc)
There is probably something on the forum already, but i have trawled through a lot, and used the search, with numerous entries, and I have decided it is best to give up my dignity and just ask.
Thanks.

I've been playing around with a few themes and trying some stuff myself, mostly unsuccessfully, but a side effect is that now that I have it looking kinda how I want it I have one issue I can't figure out. The notification bar text, not all of it, just the very top with the date and time, is white. That makes it practically unreadable but I have no idea what file to tweak in which apk. The only options I have are to cry or see if anyone here can point me to the right thing to smack into shape. Anyone?
I realise this is a question and should technically be in Q&A but it's theme related.
you can use colorChange to change the text color, or you can reflash your rom. the clock and date and such are in services.jar, and the notification text is at framework-res.apk/res/layout/status_bar.xml
Ok, so I have been playing around with LauncherPro and Bettercut over the past day or two and this is driving me mad. I have a feeling this hasn't been solved yet at the only information I have been able to find on the Internet is more or less threads with what I'm about to ask ending in "don't think its possible mate".
I didn't think the fine folks at XDA would think anything was "impossible"
Firstly I have made a video of what I am trying to achieve just so its easy to understand what my problem is, especially if you are not using the same apps that I am.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Def_XwC9rM
For those who cant watch the video -
When in sense both the mail and messages shortcuts have green icons next to them to inform you of how many unread messages you may have. You cannot change these icons with Bettercut or similar because they will automatically revert back to the same sense icons, something to do with sense controlling these particular icons I suspect.
When in ADW or launcher pro the green icons next to the mail and messages shortcuts do not appear, you can have the icons and you can change them with LP or bettercut but they will never have an unread count by them.
Oddly the messages icon in the dock bar of LP has a unread count but I assume this is the system or LP itself creating this. The same cannot be said for the email if placed in the dock bar it still will not inform you of your unread count.
There are two ways that occur to me to go about changing these icons, firstly would be to find the images Sense uses and modify these, I simply have no idea where to look for them. Secondly would be to find the service that tells sense to update its icon and use this to create a bubble similar to that seen on the messages icon on the LP home screen. The latter would obviously be the preferred solution but perhaps more complicated.
If this could be achieved I think it would certainly help out alot of people trying to mod the look of their devices, its certainly very frustrating not being able to use these shortcuts in alternative home launchers.
So if anyone has any suggestions let me know and I'll dig further
Any suggestions from anyone on this, tried searching up and down for any threads or post relating to changing or modding the sense launcher but nothing. I know this is possible because the latest revision of MDJ's android build for my HD2 has a modified HTC messaging icon with counter.
anyone?
Considering how popular PowerAMP is and how long people have went without customization for that program, I find it really strange that a version that supports custom widgets (and anything else that uses the PowerAMP API) has been out for weeks, but I have not seen any custom widgets.
Did I miss anything?
Good question. I've been wondering the same thing and I've searched every other day, no such luck.
Seems like a very popular app, surely some capable people greatly dislike the blue glow or gradients as much as I do... yet cannot deny the efficacy of the app itself!

I'm guessing because it just came out and maybe he hasn't released anything to any developers to help with making skins. You can already download the skins widget for it to get transparent.
Bumping this for more replies.
I tried to edit the apk for personal skinning a while back and for some reason could never get the recompiled apk to install. Every time I tried I would get something like "Package not properly signed". Use several different compiling and signing tools always with the same result. So I abandoned that idea and like you, waited for someone to do it for me.
Well, I was able to quickly modify the PowerAmp Widget Skin pack a little bit. I'm not experienced "theming" much of anything so I wasn't sure how to modify the font color.
I modified the background image of the widgets (4x1 and 4x2) to a half transparent black. I also changed the colors of the buttons to white.
If anyone can give me any tips as to which xml files I should edit for the font color, that would be most helpful! I can't try anything right now since I'm at work.
I used ZipSigner 2 to sign the apk, so it should hopefully be installable like normal from a file manager. I'm on a Droid X if it helps for reference.
I'd love a transparent widget and white characters to match the green wallpaper,...
I'll try to see how u did to change the app background...
Hi
Im not sure where to post my request, because i didn't wnat to "blow up" the FAQ&Help-Thread with a request, but if a mod thinks it fits better there or in another part of the forum, just feel free to move my thread.
I was playing around with dozens of sliders and lockscreens, but im not happy at all. Maybe it is because of all these phantastic screens mady with help of psd's (Photoshop) and more. I dont have photoshop and dont have "skills" doing some nice screen by myself, so maybe someone can provide me with some nice WLTheme and Background.
Lets start with the slider. I like these new Sense 3-Sliders, like these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13151132&postcount=544
All i want is nearly the same, just with a few less arrows. And i'd like to see the text "unlock" changed into the german "Entsperren", or maybe no text at all.
Now for the background/wallpaper. I love shelfs, like this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14300526&postcount=31660
or
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/607/33111.jpg/
I'd like to have a background with maybe 2 or 3 shelfs, where i can put my icons on it by myself, and maybe one without shelf, for playing around. I know that putting the icons on the shelfs without playing with the psd's is hard, but i could try
I will either use these icons:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13151132&postcount=544
or maybe
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14307546&postcount=31692
(the round ones)
For the colours....I like black, dark blue, dark grey, but please no green, no orange, no pink and other "freaky" colours
This is a very nice Background too:

This is something i'd like to use
I have a SonyEricsson Xperia Play (480 x 854). If you need more details, tell me.
Can someone do me the favour of doing these things?
Would love it, thanks
I have/had no skills either but downloaded GIMP (it's free) and googled for instructional videos to watch and asked the others here on xda how they did theirs and learned to do what i wanted done. Frustrating sometimes but worth the effort i think .
Good luck !
I am nearly done with something looking like
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14315167&postcount=1218
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14300526&postcount=31660
I was able to arrange the icons so close together as in the screens. I had to change the grid/alignment of WidgetLocker to 12x12.
But some tiny things are missing. Maybe someone can lend me hand with that.
I am using the same Icons as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14300526&postcount=31660, but i wasnt able to find the phone icon. I went to Agamemnon's deviantArt-collection and found the icon:
http://agamemmnon.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d3gjnie
I grabbed the icon, but it has a white background. Can someone edit it for me and make a transparent background so i can use it?
Then i saw this nice Gmail-Ribbon:
http://agamemmnon.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=0#/d3hftzy
Can someone "combine" this ribbon with the dark Mail-Icon, so it will look like this one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14300526&postcount=31660
But even if i can manage these things, there is still one issue. I am using SMS Unread Count for adding notification-bubbles to the MAIL, DIALER and MESSAGING icons. But the bubbles are way too small. This happened because i had to change the WidgetLocker grid/alignment to the maximum of 12x12.
Can someone help me out?
Thanks
I've been getting into theming, and I'm trying to get together Photoshop templates for application and status bar icons. Searching here and doing the Google yields some results for the former -- I've found sources for PSD duplicates of the most popular app icons (Gmail, Maps, Market, etc.), for example, as well as others -- but I'm not having any luck finding customizable status bar icons (data type, signal strength, wi-fi signal, etc.) in PSD format. I don't mind doing the heavy lifting on customizing the icons themselves, but any help you guys (especially the more expert themers) could provide regarding sources for these icons in PSD format would be greatly appreciated.
And yes, I know all about the UOT Theme Kitchen. It's a wonderful resource that I've used several times already, but I'd also like to be able to do this on my own, both for learning purposes and to be able to eventually create unique looks for future themes.
Thanks in advance!
(Bumping because this thread might have been missed in all the activity around here.)
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Hmmm. No hints? No suggestions? Hard to believe that no one has any information on PSD-format icons, what with all of the themers who frequent this forum. Surely someone can give a struggling guy a friendly, helping hand. Perhaps the Christmas holiday has kept them busy.
Finding such sources would be extremely helpful!
I used to unpack apk(s) to get icons (png) that I like and want to change a bit, lots of work though and still having issues understanding dealing with 9.png
Hopefully someone could help!
