Is there any way to get Firefox onto a Hero if it has cm7? If so how?

Well, you could try the experimental nightly armv6 builds. No idea if those are working at all for anyone. Try if you dare and report back!

Meant to add there was a download and scanner linky off the ff4 site. Just don't have it handy.

I checked their site when FF4 came out and they had shut down the experimental armv6 builds saying that FF closed immediately upon opening, so no, there is no way of getting FF on Hero

So I tried this beta app out. Played every file possible, or at least tried to, and nothing! It seems to work for everyone else on diff handsets. Anyone else try this?
Redownloaded and installed a few times and nothing.

It may be that the developer has not yet updated the app to support the Mytouch Slide hardware...email the dev and ask the to add support for your device...

I thought about it but the app is a closed beta that got leaked and I'm 95% sure he only speaks chinese and uses translation tools.

i read it was based off processor, magic, dream, hero wont work as they dont support it.
seems to work for most of my movies, have several mpgs and avi files that it played decently, i have had a few problems with it lagging in audio or audio cutting in and out, and only one file refused to play at all(and by that i mean no sound and ~1fps while counter at bottome went as normally would)
I just downloaded it. I'm at work so I only have 2 .avi files to try out but they both worked great and when you move it to another point it starts almost instantly. Such a great app.
I tried the 2.2 Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 Test 4 For Hero CDMA but can't deal with the bugs but really like the car mode with the big buttons with commonly used apps in the car. Is there a way to get that on 2.1?

Bugs? I have no bugs...
Just to much to track down all the patches and tweaks to get everything working right. That one app would keep me happy til it is a little more final.

OS the multi touch keyboard port from the Droid 2 usable on the slide? Anyone tried?

That has the Droid X keyboard.
This isn't the multi touch keyboard from the Droid 2. There is a thread on the front page but I've yet to get it working on my phone.

That keyboard works only on the Froyo builds, we will have to wait for now.
You have obviously forgotten that we have froyo builds for our device. I have the team fenix cm6 build installed and still no go.

Did you flash from recovery? That's the only way. It will remove the stock keyboard but its pretty slick. Gonna try putting it on my friend's slide when she wakes up. (Im using the N1).

It would be so great if we can get some devs working on this.

Here is a page that has the link to the .Apk.
http://phandroid.com/2011/03/15/netflix-for-android-apk-leaked/
I am downloading and installing now.
No one has been able to stream yet as far as I know.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
Im sure that the UI isn't optimized for the large screen.
Having any luck skull?
OK, ui was stuck in portrait, so not optimized for honeycomb. When it went to start streaming it switched to landscape.
Was able to sign in and see queue etc. Tried to stream and got an error after a few seconds saying it cannot connect to netflix servers. This is consistent with what others are experiencing.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
just tried the apk as well, no bones on streaming...
looks like its a DRM lockdown. log copied from this thread
Here is the drm software and the .Apk
Should this thread be in development, or will the devs see it here easy enough?

Don't know that devs will touch it. My thread in the nexus one forum was shut down for beginning a discussion to get this going. Devs are probably worried about lawsuits or cease and desisted. Remember what happened to Cyanogen back in the day.

Just tested this and it's working on CM7 maybe you should give it a try?
little late to the party?
Almost all the Netflix apk's work on CM7. Still doesn't work on froyo.

I had just saw that it was supposedly a legit made Netflix app that no longer had device checks (not some hacked app). I may have jumped the gun, but I thought I would share just in case.

Gave it a shot, no dice on bamf 1.7
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Ditto. No dice on BAMF 1.6.3 either.
Smh when is this app officially coming out?
Soon I hope. I also hope they don't put root detection on there like they did on the Charge with the Blockbuster app.
I would wager that without proper codec support the thunderbolt won't be seeing netflix until HTC gives us an update that includes the needed parts (or our friendly developers bundle them up for us).
Stonaged Dweller,
Please Netflix is working with all GB roms. GB will be required for Netflix, hence the reason it does not work on your thunderbolt and never will until it has GB.
/\ Dumb Assumption... SORRY /\
How do u kno that?

It runs fine on some phones with froyo, just they have the dependencies installed correctly for what it needs.

I stand corrected, this is just the impression I was under.

read the thread located on the same page as this one. unless you know how to cross compile libraries for arm, you wont get very far though.
