Orange glowing spots on edge of touch screen. - Nook Color General

In random spots on my nook colors screen I have noticed orange glowing spots. This happens regardless of what ROM I am running so its not a software issue. This reminds me of the glowing problem on an iPad 2 due to the glue not drying under the LCD and I wonder if this is the problem. I bought this nook about 3 days ago and decided to take action about the problem. The touchscreen still works in those areas its just unsightly and irritating. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

sounds like light is leaking through. i have 2 minor spots that i notice when the lights are off at night. it's not bad enough for me to do anything about it. if you notice it during the day or is really bothering you, just go and attempt to take it back.

screen defect?

I just got a tilt about a week ago and ive noticed that in the middle of the screen there seems to be a purple greenish tint when put against incandescent light. The size of said glint varies in size but i'm unable to see what changes the size. Not sure if its heat or pressure or something. The touch screen works perfectly its just really annoying to always see such an annoying glint.
An interesting discovery is that when i press all four corners of the screen it disappears and when i press in the middle of the little square it seems to spread out. I feel like theres some kind of material or something in the touch screen that is causing this due to pressure. I keep it in a hard case in my pocket so the screen isnt pressed on inadvertently.
I've searched the forum for any answers but i havent seen anything about it. Any response or help would be greatly appreciated. I'll try to get a picture of it up asap but i left my camera at a friends house and dont know when im getting it back...thanks in advanced

Do you see the same "annoying glint" under neon light (not day / sunlight)?
Lots of NOKIA and SONY ERICSSON phones for example get this screen recolorization under direct sunlight - this has nothing to do with the screen being defective but with the plastic above the screen which breaks the light and shows you this colored spots. If you can't see the same spot under direct neon light then this might be the cause.
It is normal that you get color changes while pressing the screen in. First of, you press / bent the protecting plastic and the liquid within the screen which causes the incoming light to break in a different angle, therefore the color changes. (BTW: you shouldn't do that too often, it can cause permanent stains on your screen!).
There sure is the possibility that your screen gets pressure from underneath due bad assembling! If you're still under warranty, try to get a replacement.
yeah you cant see it in day light. but i feel as though there is constant pressure on the screen between the plastic and liquid since the spot is always there and doesnt really go away (unless of course in daylight).
well im thinking im going to go back for a replacement. thanks for the quick answer!

Strange circle/ring in the middle of the screen

Recently, I noticed the is a strange circle in the middle of the screen. When the screen backlight is off, it appears as a black circle. When the screen backlight is on, it appears as red/yellow/black ring. Somtimes it went away by itself, and other time I have to "wipe" it away with finger force.
Anyone know what is wrong?
2 questions
1) Have you tried removing the screen protection just to see whether its on the screen protection or on the main lcd screen
2) did you ever exposed lcd it to high electromagnetic waves??
1. I didn't remove the screen protector as I believe it's beneath the LCD film.
2. I don't think it has been exposed to any electromagnetic waves, as it appears after I pulled it out from my pocket.
I've had it too but it's gone now
I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. The place I stayed was not well ventilated and I THINK it caused some water condensation to occur between the digitizer and lcd screen. I slept in an air-conditioned room the next day and it was gone!
My deduction is that you need a cool or cold environment for the stain to evaporate.
The same problem arises again, and this time it has been a couple days but it still did not go away.
It looks almost like a burn mark.
You may have a defective digitizer.
Found another thread talking about this:

This is the so-called 'Newton ring' in optics/Physics. It means that in that area, the thickness of LCD is slightly thicker/thinner than rest of the area. This is normally due to stress at that point. It is annoying but if there are no repeated color rings, like red/yellow/blue/red/yellow/blue, it should be fine. If you have alot of repeated color rings, the LCD may approach its life end.

Thanks for the info. When you said it should be fine, do you mean it will disappear, or it just won't affect usability?
It may disappear if the stress is released, e.g., you push the area a bit or you put it into different temperature environment. But I doubt it will disappear for ever. It was not there in the first place then it came. This means some sort of stress/pressure built up there. It should not affect your daily use a lot. It is just a visual effect. But if it gets worse, the colour rings will become very dense and sharp. It will affect you visual. I had a phone pinged on LCD sometime ago. It had similar rings like yours. But it was so dense I could not see any thing behind it. I had to change it for £35.
Also I looked at another previous comment about the humidity. It could give you the same effect. Maybe you can bake your phone a bit?

Screen Issue

So, It's only 3 weeks since I bought this phone, and last weekend i accidentaly drop it (damn..) but at first glance it didn't have any scratchs. But then the next morning when I turned on my phone I notice a red stain on the booting screen, and then I realized that whenever the screen's color is black, the stain is there :S . You can only notice it on a black background, others colors works fine.
So i was wondering if it this could be fixed. I searched on internet if it was a dead/stuck pixel, do you think it could be fixed with one of those fixing apps? (I tried it for around a hour, but so far no good) What options do I have? I talked with Amazon and they said that they will refund/exchange my phone but I would like to avoid sending it back if it can be fixed.
Thanks in advance
send it to the warranty screen isn't broken they will fix it

Tab s2 8" 2016 Screen issue

Hello all and thanks for reading,
Just purchased A tab s2 and loving it except for the screen (1 of the prime reasons for buying). I like to use a black background to help with battery power when I noticed that on three edges there seems to be what I initially describe as back light bleed or what Looks similar to back light bleed. 1 horizontal edge is fine.
What I'm seeing is lighter edges on the notification bar area (some edges are worse than others). As I rotate the s2 the issue changes but its always where the notification bar is and most prominent at the edges. I can only describe it as grey banding that stretches across the screen and drops about a centimetre from the top.
I went to a local Samsung repair shop and they said it was like "screen burn in, like someone used it for satnav for a three hour drive". Now that comment concerns me because now I'm thinking l'll just return it and get my money back. It's literally 3 days old.
Anyone else with this issue?
Thanks.
Return it for an exchange. OLED's don't need a backlight since the pixels themselves light up.

Question Screen Bleeding

Hi guys,
I'm experiencing screen bleeding issue on the left edge, with dark mode on. I'm able to notice that whenever opening Youtube app (with dark theme) specially during night time. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Typically I've heard of screen bleeding in LCD screens. Surprised to notice that on an AMOLED...
Does it have like a little slit at the left side when properly place under light? Mine has. So worried a little splash of water can go inside.
