Trying to bluetooth tether the Cappy to Xoom but can't find an option to do it. Mobile AP works but I would like to have bluetooth tether due to better battery life. Any solutions? Running Continuum 4.0.
google : Xoom bluetooth DUN (or Dial up Networking)

My rooted (Captivate), 2.2 JI6/xda/froyo is unable to run ( BT GPS Mouse, or BT GPS Provider, or BT GPS-Googoo Android).
Each case ends in a "force close" after Pairing and during "Connect".
I'm using a well tested and operating external BT GPS receiver. (Delorme, BT-20)
Anyone hear of any known bug/conflict with the leaked 2.2?
Workaround? TIA
Found the problem! Advanced Task Killer (ATK) would not kill "BT GPS Mouse". The other 2 apps couldn't connect under that condition. Uninstalled "Mouse" and "Voila"! One at a time now each app works fine.
I have a blackberry 9700 that I would like to use as a GPS puck for my Cappy, does anyone know if this is possible? I would like to be able to leave the BB in my car for navigation so when I get in my cappy is ready to go and I wont have to worry about the abysmal GPS on the Captivate. Id appreciate any help!
Download Bluetooth GPS Provider or something like it from the Android Market.
Turn GPS and BT on on your Blackberry.
Turn GPS and BT on on your Captivate.
Try pairing your BB to your Captivate, but don't connect it.
Start Bluetooth GPS Provider and see if it recognizes the BB. If it does, you're in business.

I'm using phiremod's latest CM7 - love, love, love it. So easy to install. I got BT working, but with some strange issues:
1) The range is horrible when in portrait mode, but when I flip to landscape, and keep the line of sight between the Nook and the ear-piece that had the BT receiver/transmitter in it, I can have more than arms length range with no issues. (!!!) There must be an issue with the accelerometer!!
2) When I play mp4 clips I've made from my HD camera, they might start OK, but quickly freeze up and go into ultra slo-mo, or whatever. Totally useless. But these clips play fine on regular headphones or without headphones. Why BT has an impact on video playing - using the stock player or any other player - I don't know.
With this phiremod build on the Nook, I'm happy enough to ditch my plkans to get a Samsung or some other "real" tablet. The ONLY thing keeping that alive is this issue.
What I'm wondering, is if there's any way to possibly use my cellphones BT to pair with my headphones, and have the Nook tethered to the phone, such as with GPS tethering and WiFi tethering. Seems somewhat logical to me that you could. I know there is a BT tether on the market, but that's just for data and not for actually using a BT device on your cellphone to control some app on your Nook. I'm thinking like GPS tether does with WiFi tether and Google Nav.
Love to hear your experience here. Thanks!
Eric
i was wondering if there is any way to get Bluetooth tethering working on a froyo or gingerbread rom?i need to tether my x8 with nexus 7 but don't want to use wifi tethering as it consumes a lot of battery...i recently installed minicm10 which has native Bluetooth tethering in it,but found it understandably a bit laggy to my requirement...so was wondering if there is any gingerbread or froyo rom with Bluetooth tethering in it?(i tried gingerdx with pdanet+ app installed but didn't work for me)
i just require any smooth rom with bluetooth tethering in it...any help would be great
I have a rooted XT1052 which is used solely as an in car OBD2 reader and WiFi hotspot (for my Android car stereo head unit). It seems to have a problem whereby sometimes when the WiFi hotspot is activated, it repeatedly turns on and off the WiFi hotspot. The only way to get it to work is to reboot the phone.
Here's a video showing the fault:
Any ideas how to fix?
