help me theme???

htc sprint hero is my first smartphone, i rooted my hero with madaco 1.1, how do i update to madaco 2.9 or 3.0 and how do i theme my phone please help!!!

first you cant update to 2.9 or 3.0 they are GSM rom and thus far flashing a gsm rom/radio to the CDMA hero is the only way we have found to actually brick the phone. modaco has a 2.2 build in the CDMA hero sub-forum that you can use.
as far as themeing goes read the first sticky in the CDMA hero section thats how I learned how to do it.

Question about hero roms.

Hey guys, i just was wondering.... Its great that as a community we are coming out with these 2.x roms and they are mostly complete, but i enjoy the sense UI roms. unfortunetly the new sense roms are not very stable so i have been using sense hero 1.4, and i know its 1.5 but is it possible to get gmaps with navi working on this or any other stable hero rom? thanks.

you cant. get kings eclair hero, its way faster than sence hero.

Thanks for the quick answer, i have used those roms and they are just not complete enough. Guess more waiting for me...

ROM Update

Hi, Im still on the stock 2.1 rom for my sprint HTC Hero and would like to know if there are other ROMS out there with Sense that are quick and popular. Sorry for the noob question.

[Q] Original Sprint HTC Hero Android 1.6 rom

Hey guys,
Been looking for an android 1.6 rom for a Sprint Hero looked through the forums but couldn't find any with links that work.
I'm just looking for an RUU thats 1.6 since the 2.1 rom doesn't work well on it.
I'm not looking for a rom that I need to root for, this is for a friend so the easiest and least risky way of going back to 1.6 or another better than 2.1 rom.
I hope I didn't miss this in the forums because I don't want to waste your time, just been trying to get this issue fixed for a while.

Roms are for rooted phones only You need rom manager, superuser, and a recovery as well.

I guess I'm looking for an RUU then, I know you can install different versions of the actual OS without doing anything special, done it many times before. I'm just looking for Android 1.6 from Sprint, not a custom one because that requires rooting it.

It had 1.5 originally, then went to 2.1. that's why yer having trouble finding 1.6.

Thanks! I downloaded it and will try and install if probably later today! With that ROM do I simply have to click ARU Wizard for the RUU (like the RUUs from HTC) or will I have to use other files in the folder?

[Q] stuck

hi just a quick question. im kinda new to this stuff just trying to figure it all out, i installed the Gratia rom to my cdma hero and rebooted but it wont load past the htc load screen. am i missing sonthing

A good start would be aosps cm7 rom. Start by reading the read me in the original post and it's real simple. Not at all knowledgeable about the rom you mentioned.

Here are a few things that could be causing your problem:
1. The rom is not for an HTC Hero.
2. The rom is extremely outdates.
3. You have a bad download/outdated recovery.
4. You bricked the device.
Provide more information on the ROM you are using.
