If one was wanting to revert back to the stock Cyanogen bootscreen/status bar icons etc how do you do it?
Thanks
With a backup you took prior to install

Brilliant m8. I was waiting for this so i could use RC1.
Many thanks
Will this still only show 3g and not hspda, does that need to be patched on the cyanogen side?

Ah I didn't do this, oh well I kinda like it now I've gotten used to it, a transparent status bar would look nice.
The battery indicator would be nice in finer increments and not just an entire quarter, would be more precise that way.
Thanks for the theme. Though Im stuck on the In Cyanogen Settings, choose custom theme. Select "thyrusminimal" theme. part.
Im going to settings / CyanogenMod settings but I see no custom theme settings :/
Great theme
Just installed the theme, really like it alot. The font is great but why the 2 dpi versions? Or sm i being noobish? Keep up you excellent work.

Thank you, sir!
The 2 dpi settings have a purpose. On the standard 240 dpi from android, a lot of the screen potential gets lost. Keep in mind that the 240 dpi with 800x480 settings were designed for the 3.7 screen sizes. As such, a 4.3 inch screen is a little bit of an overkill. Test it yourself, you can swap between both themes easily

Installed the 200dpi version and wow it's so much better, seems like a lot more space on the screen, it's easier on the eye too.
So this theme only works with CM?
Waiting for RC2 update
CyanogenMod for Desire HD
I havent installed rc2 yet, but I heard from others that my theme works just fine with RC2 as well without any amendments.. will try it out
Installed Rc2 with a wipe first, and elements of the theme are still present. How do you remove, as there is an issue with the standard twitter client. The theme makes the sign in button transparent! Guessed where the button normally is and managed to sign in.

Use Tweetdeck, it's a lot nicer.
There is now a fully functional full gingerbread theme for 6.1.1 located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883291
Theme for cm 6.1.1 stable. Flash the DarkGB.zip (or RegularGB.zip) for the task bar, unzip GBLPtheme.zip to your sd and use LauncherPro for the dock and icons. Also attached is the "Fabolous" Gingerbread Keyboard in a flashable zip.
Included is a Gingerbread XML to put in your CMThemes folder on your sdcard. Then select it from cyanogenmod settings and tweaks and reboot to apply.
Always nandroid first.
Not responsible for....anything bad =)
Made with help of the awesome uotkitchen http://Circle.glx.nl
12-17-2010: Slight color adjustment
12-17-2010: Updated for 6.1.1
12-15-2010: Updated to better reflect gingerbread. Gingerbread pulldown bar added and item/background colors updated. XML CMTheme file added for font color adjustments. Battery percentage indicator removed since you could barely see it anyway and to better reflect Gingerbread.
12-15-2010: Added Regular Gingerbread flashable zip.
Sweet! But could you make a regular theme?

He didn't make a theme so to speak! He just used the online kitchen to cook up a new Status Bar!
Yeah, I don't have time to make themes...I just share what I've already made for myself from time to time.
I found a really nice one that I've tested and works great...you name it its got it. The catch is it seems to break all tethering (and wifi tether doesn't even have a place to configure it) I haven't heard anyone else complain...so I'm not sure what the issue is with our little phones. I'm not sacrificing my tether for pretty...so I"m using what I made. That said...
Anyone interested in playing, the zip they have in the first post has to be opened...the GingerFroyo-v2.0-(Froyd-1.7.2)-signed.zip needs to be named something without parenthesis and periods in it so you can flash with rom manager. Then follow the rest of their instructions (it even adds an xml file for cyanogen tweaks to set your fonts, etc)

Is there a reason the HC launcher is not being used ?
Probably because of the missing dependencies.. You can't simply copy/paste the apk.. I wish it were that simple...

I really like this thinking. I only have limited experience with Honeycomb, but there's some question in my mind whether 7" is too small for Honeycomb and Gingerbread will be a nicer experience. Honeycomb clearly rocks on 10".

Looks awesome. I assume you went crazy with the framework to do a lot of this. Any suggestions for someone just starting out with framework editing? Ive looked a bit at the code, and its a bit intimidating, probably because im not sure where to start. have any advice or resources for us mortals? Thanks for what you do!
Read The code is explicit and commented. You can use a search tool to find string instances, depending on what you wish to change..

Do you have a flashable zip? I would love to try this out! Awesome work!
How did you get the bar on the bottom? Can't wait for your rom
Nook Color via Xda App
There's an app called Plug In Launcher that I find might be useful to combine with your nookcolorUmS app for those having problems mounting sd card. it launches an app when you plug in a usb or head phone Jack. If you devs can find a way to activate a microphone in the head phone Jack it might activate a telephony program also. And yes, waiting for your rom anxiously

very exciting, I am enjoying CM7 right now but if I could get the 'back' button on the bottom that would be awesome. Love your work sam and I can't wait to see more of this.
am i reading this right?
When cm7 hits stable your going to make a heavily styled cm rom with hc features? Or you're going to work on the hc rom?
I guess what im asking is should i look more forward to cm7 stable or hc asop?
I think sam is saying that he'll build a more tablet friendly rom using CM7 once they get it stable..
I know I'll switch to HC when they release an AOSP rom for the Nook Color..

you should just check out HC on the nook if possible. i really do not think 7" is too small for HC, especially since the nook has such a high resolution display.
I'm not sure there's a point in making a flashable zip of this right now. This would require an update every time a new version of cm is released.
If there's such an need for it, I could release a RC1 version. But nightlies I doubt it. Sorry.
Moreover, the notification panel is everything but slick. It needs some coding still.
And this thread is only CM related. Nothing to do with HC.

Can this possibly work on Froyo?
Well its always doable. But the framework has changed since 2.3. So the changes will have to be done differently. Haven't looked into it. To be honest, I don't see much interest in working on froyo when a stable version of GB is one the way..

While I'm at it, is there any other feature someone can think of that they would like to see added/modified in CM7's UI?
Sam
I'be searched for a way to do this on ICS and I can't find a thing...
I remember in CM7 it was built into the cmsettings, and I was wondering if there was a way to do this on AOSP ICS without decompiling the systemui.apk.
Thanks for the help!

Not sure about pure AOSP, but you can remove the clock in ROM settings on AOKP ROM. As well as move it into the middle of the motivation bar, if you're into that.

Not so sure it is a launcher specific setting, as it was a setting in aokp no matter which launcher you used. After a quick Google search, I found about 30 tutorials how to do it using apktool to edit systemui.apk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1085118
Since it edits they system files, no launcher will probably ever do it, it will have to be programmed into a custom ROM. Or you can mod it yourself. If you need any help using apktool, feel free to ask.

now for JB too!
The only launcher and the only way you can get the things you desire, is with Holo Launcher HD, it is based and pulled right from 4.1.1 AOSP, and works ecatly like the stock one. But you have more settings to play with. One is to remove the staticsearchbar that you dont like..:good:
Check it out If you dont like it, then you can get the fu.... out and stop make everything so damn hard.

congrats on not listening to anything I said... you have to edit system files, it is not a launcher thing!! And no one has done it for JB yet, but if you do want it, you should use AOKP ICS or PA ICS. Or I can do it for you on an ICS based ROM, but this mod just doesn't exist yet in JB. A lot of the code changed with Project Butter which makes things faster but are a bit more complicated.
Now the drawer can be transparent and there is a mod for that. Here is a guy who is a big themer and he claims that currently transparent status bar cannot be done in JB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30823878&postcount=11

ignorance on how to do that is not meant to ignore of your precious words! so thx for making things clearer.
at the moment i'm on a AOKP based rom (Baked). The statusbar cannot be changed, only the notification background could.
i read here and there that someone already did the thing, perhaps not on Ns.
any other hint for a noob-on-theming?
Why don't you just use the "expand desktop" feature in Paranoid.
Nexus S. (GSM i9020a)
Paranoid Android (2.0 - 4.1.1)
Marmite Kernel (4.5 - Bedalus)
Smartassv2 (Screen On) (800/200)
Ondemmand (Screen Off) (400/100)
Deep Idle (N/A - Deadline)
BLX (98 - Inverted Apps)
Black Exodus (Stock Voltage)

I'm on PA at the moment.
The feature removes the statusbar, I'm searching for something different, i.e. a trasparent bg of the status bar: signal, battery, alarm and other notifications should appear over the desktop image.
