Touchscreen goes out-of-sync on Froyo

Tried searching first, sorry if already reported. I'm running the Modaco Froyo ROM, with pershoot's .34 kernel.
After about 1/2hour or so of playing any touchscreen intensive games (ie... Robo Defense and Super KO Boxing 2) the touch sensor goes completely out-of-sync. Anything from touching the screen causing a haptic feedback (as if pressing one of the softkeys) or pressing on one spot of the screen and it registers in a completely different region.
I've never had this issue pre-froyo (as has been reported by folks using 2.1).
Anyone else getting similar issues?
I've been getting this issue since 2.1, and had it for the brief period of using 2.2. Don't think it's been fixed yet. Annoying, but you can always just toggle the screen with the power button to get it back to normal.

Thanks for the workaround tip, heck of a lot better than having to reboot.

[Q] Touch Screen issue

I just rooted the Nook Color with Auto Nooter 3.0. It was all working perfectly for the first few hours, then screen just turn unresponsive from time to time. had to try so many times to get the unlock screen to unlock. and while typing, it just hits random keys that I wasn't even close to be touching. It's like the screen is sensing the touch in the wrong spots.
Anyone ever experience this? anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks!
Clean the screen and see if that doesn't fix it.
We seem to have a lot of screen issues in the last few days.
Try recalibrating your screen if cleaning doesn't work.
Unplug it from the charger if it is plugged in.

[Q] Screen doesn't respond after putting it to sleep

I have samsung captivate and while it is on 2.1 it has no problems but on 2.2 froyo LCD stays black when put to sleep or when screen turns off while calling. All buttons below work. I restored the phone using Odin one click and then again updated to 2.2 but end up with same issue. If you know what causing this problem or how to fix it then please let me know. Thank you in advance!

Missing screen touches, accuracy?

Running CM7.0.3 of 8GB uSD card. When using the stock browser, it seems like I frequently have to tap several times to get the NC to recognize I am trying to tap/touch the link. Does anyone else have this issue? I used a nook screen recalibrate app ( https://market.android.com/details?id=com.assid.android.nookrecalibrate ), but haven't noticed any difference.
I just noticed, that Nook must be rooted for the recalibrate app. Stupid question I'm sure... is my Nook "rooted" if I am booting/running from the addin uSD card? I didn't do anything to the builtin memory device (it still has stock 1.2 I think).
I have never noticed any phantom/ghost touches.
So, anyone else having these missing touch problems?
Thanks!
cm7 = rooted
run the nook touch screen calibrate app not plugged into the power
also, getting a screen protector helps with phantom touches
I pretty much never use the Nook while it is plugged. Are there any other utilities to help determine if the screen touch sensor is calibrated? I remember way back to the Palm days, there was a recalibrate function to help keep touches lined up with the display.
Remove the uSD, boot into your stock ROM and see determine the responsiveness of your NC screen.
If it's bad, back to B&N.
If it's good, blame your uSD.
First off. Clean your screen. Turn the screen on and off and then run the nook screen recalibrate app

I notice that a simple screen on/off and a regular screen cleaning helps

[Q] Captivate Temporarily Sticking in Landscape Mode

I have an odd issue that seemingly started out of nowhere. If I turn my phone to view the screen in landscape, it won't switch back to portrait when I flip it back upright. It doesn't matter what app I'm using or if I'm on my home screens.
I can turn it off and turn it back on and it will correct itself (assuming I power back on holding it upright). When I say "turn it off" I mean just turn off the screen, not a full reboot. What is odd, is that if I flip the screen 180 degrees it will reorient to the other landscape - but never go back to portrait without powering cycling. To me this seems to indicate that it isn't the accelerometer, but who knows?
I was running CM9 nightly from 04/19 at the time and updated to the 05/12 nightly to see if that would fix it (and see what was new in the ROM). I am on the stock CM9 kernel, no OC/UV. I am running LauncherPro free version.
I'm not sure if some random app may have updated that started this or what. I hadn't changed the ROM or monkeyed with anything for at least a couple of weeks prior to this.
I did a search and the only similar issues I found were all from last year and it seemed like "DeskHome" app was the problem. Most of those folks were having it permanently stuck in landscape, where mine will correct itself by power cycle.
Mostly this is just annoying but I'm hoping someone can help.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions what to check?
