Which rom is faster than Darky and Doc rom? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dakry and Doc rom is very slow. CM7 is so fast, but not stable.
2.2.1 is also OK. THX~~

How is Darky's ROM slow?
I'm running XXJVK (Gingerbread 2.3.3) + Darky's ROM v10.0 RC3 + darky10kernel and my phone has never been smoother nor faster!

Rom Kitchin
XWJS8 and Hardcore Kernel fast enough for me .
jje

I personally prefer darky rom

+1 for me on doc's 9.9.5 very fast with hardcore and lagfix enabled.

Its very fast for me...

Quadrant is not really necessary because it sometimes outputs a lower reading but the rom is actually faster.. You can overclock if you use voodoo advanced kernal but I wouldn't recommend it for beginners.

What rom to pick? (noob alert)

Hi,
My brother would like to use a custom rom. But he isn't technicsl at all, so i'm gonna help him with flashing. But i see too many custom roms available for the galaxy s.
Now i would like to know what custom rom you guys recommend us? I prefer a VERY stable rom which i can flash as one package using odin.
My brother currently is running on official froyo jpy.
Thx for your help ^^

for a very stable custom ROM i suggest you head over to www.romkitchen.org
make your own ROM to your own liking,
all you will need to do prior to this is get 2e / CWM recovery, either through flashing a kernel / CF-Root through ODIN, or apply:update.zip through recovery
EDIT: romkitchen seems to be under maintenance try http://romkitchen.org/m/ instead
Agree rom kitchen but not Gingerbread as its not ready yet .
Stable for me is .
XWJS8 rom with Hardcore kernel .
jje
I would suggest trying the insanity ROM. Very easy to install, quick, and stable.
Have to agree with JS8 + Hardcore kernel built by RomKitchen (see my sig).
I have tried almost every rom out there (including CM7, MIUI, JVB, etc) - they are all quite wonderful and each have their own pros and cons, but since I use my phone a lot (be it work or entertainment), I just need a ROM that has all the necessities (besides the obvious stability, performance, battery life etc) for me like Voodoo Sound, BLN, working 3D, working Navigation app and so on.
try juwi's rom..
it based om gingerbread 2.3.3 ..
perfect..

+1 soooo smooth and amazing battery
If you are just new and not too technical then docs kitchen is best because the instructions are easy to follow and its the simplest. also check simply honey, good, ready instal l and get you up and running well

Rom kitchen is the most stable Froyo ROM you can get. GB roms are currently unstable (including the stock GB rom as they've been recalled pending bugfixes)
darky's rom amazing

+1, haven't run into any show stopping bugs yet.
I have also used GoaTrip v1.7 found it very good but issues were BT not working and many times found lag in the system.
Currently on Juwe's v4.1 not such issue's. Works really well and smooth.

I tried every single ROM available in the Development section. Decided to stick with the DOC's ROM. It is the most stable, flexible and versatile.
JS8 + Hardcore Kernel
It has all the necessities including standard features + call recording. Battery life is very good. Works with almost any themes and supports most of the add ons. No FCs. Before, i used to change ROMs everyday which took so much of my time. I think, JS8 is the most stable and efficient ROM at the moment. I would like to try GB, but it is still unstable and lacks many features that I need in my everyday life.
Thanks.
After a bit of help from azzledazzle I went for Darkys rom well fast and stable, being new to Sammy's I had a bit of trouble at first especially when I just come from HTC s .
These phones rock especially with a new rom & kernnel

Try Darky's ROM 9.5 if you want a highly stable, clean and fast Froyo 2.2.1 ROM.
However if you want a Gingerbread 2.3.3 based ROM then you should try Darky's Gingerbread Edition Release Candidate 5 Build 3 over here:
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...darky-v10-rc5-3-captivate-users-welcome.2420/
Although I must warn you, you need to be more experienced and be able to solve your own problems if you are trying out the rc version of darkys rom if you overcome any, however many have reported it is highly stable and ready for daily use.
+1 for Juwe's ROM I think its wonderful but sadly it lacks good Hebrew support so I'm currently using PilotX which is also good.
You can always try this flashing guide.
Froyo i suggest darkys rom 9.5
Gingerbread i suggest simplyhoney 3.1.... the best roms... easy flashing steps...

[Q] best Gingerbread custom rom?

Which is the best custom rom...
darky
JUWE
etc..........
rate the rom which has this below qualities
* Speed same like CM7
* Super looking
*Best supporting kernels.
etc........................
Nothing of them
For me GOAtrip is the best custom Rom.
Goatrip 2.1 RC on GB 2.3.4 JVP
with Dark Core 2.7.3 or Semaphore 1.2.0
Here we go again!
Best rom threads invariably get shut down because it creates bickering and bad feeling......there is no best rom, it depends on what you want.....the ONLY way to resolve this is to get into development and browse around and make your own mind up/experiment ............case closed!

Exactly, just try them all out and ofter some time you'll have your favourite ROM.
I think JUWE v5.0 is really nice.. give it a try ;-)
But it depends on what you expect form ROM, what style/design do you prefer..
The best roms is which fits you the best.
All roms hare almost bug free and very smooth.
Just try some and make your own choice
JUWE v5.0 is really nice try that.. its fast too
+ dark core kernel 2.7.3
define 'best' and you will get a few responses which will help you to make up your mind

i m in JUWE's rom right now V5.0 .. its good...
Right now i am searching for fastest KERNEL for JVP rom which gives speed like CM7 ......

Which is the most stability and fast rom or kernel?

Hi, now im using criskelo rom gingerbread v79 but, i dont like it so much ... in your opinion which is the fastest rom and kernel?
Regards!
Insanity + Glitch kernel
Cm7 + stock kernel
Insanity is cm7 based, very stable compared to the nightlys
i know, just like the MIUI- versions, SuperOSR ....
What do you mean with "very stable compared to the nightlys"?
The last nightly with bigger problems was #23 - at least for me...
Stock CM7 + platypus kernel
Insanity + Neo kernel... but only until the new glitch kernel is released

You couldn't just read one of the countless identical threads on this forum? How many threads do we really need where people mindlessly argue that their current rom is the best ever?

Flash your phone with Darky 10.2RE then upgrade with 10.2.1

I would go with this!!
DarkyROM is superb!
hi mate i think u should try BlockBuster Rom 5.0 with Semaphore Kernel 1.5.0...i think the fastest and most stable rom.....and the big thing it has no battery drain at all....Darkys rom is not a choice now a days......because darky is not developing....its developed by Ficeto.....so in my opinion u should try blockbuster.
i'm using F1 GS2 vs Galaxian GT.I think u should try it
lol, if i had a dollar for every person who asked this question id be super rich.
Best way to find out is try, its why your here.
