noob: problems when rooting

hey guys today i got a vodafone locked samsung galaxay s . I wanted to unlock it so i read a guide on how to root it , i followed this guide using odin3 . I put the phone into download mode and ran odin3 , i followed everything the guide said and started odin3 but odin stops on zImage , I left it for an hour and nothing changed . Now the phone shows the symbol below when i try to turn it on . I can get the phone back into download mode im just wondering if anyone knows a way to get this phone rooted ?

i suffered that alot when i was new to rooting and flashing, just try flashing a new stock firmware back to the phone from samfirmwares.com and see how you go,
actualy pre rooted firmware

see how you go with that, although u may need to manually add youre providers apn settings in after though

Regarding the icon: flash the bootloaders(boot & Sbl) and a working kernel

Thanks for the posts ...fliptechnologies do i use odin to flash them files ? where does the firmware go ?(pda?). Does anyone know if anyone with the same problem has made a guide by any chance ?

there are apps which help you root your phone using adb
like SuperOneClick you might want to try it, or using a firmware with root as suggested
there is also an app which can be installed in your phone to root ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953)
but first you need to get a firmware in order to install that app
get an stock ROM like 2.2 froyo or 2.1 eclair, then try with the app

Okay, so b4 i unlock bootloader, i backuped with helium. Then after i unlock it and root
ALL THE FILE IS GONE. None of it is save :/

Now im using http://www.android-recovery.net/restore-data-from-root-android.html, most of the file is lost/corrupt. And none of the file is belongs to the phone.

Not sure about the other file but music is definately inside, but the phone shows no song, no apps, clean.
How can i restore those things? Thanks

To be honest I don't think you'll be getting anything back at all

Sorry mate, but if you went through HTCdev, then you should have read:
Step 10
On your phone you will now see the disclaimer. Please read this carefully as this action may void your warranty. Use the Volume buttons to highlight your choice, and the Power button to make your selection. If you select Yes, your phone will be reset to its’ factory default settings, and your bootloader will be unlocked. If you select No, your phone will reboot and no modifications will have been made.

My x70 pro plus CN ver.
I'm living in south korea, and I can not use VoLTE.
So, I use PDC and EFS EXPLORER to make VoLTE.
I changed mbn to ITALY_VOLTTE_VODAFONE
and then, I get in to EFS EXPLORER.
I copy the EFS files. and in the policyman folder,
I deleted original 'CARRIER POLICIES.XML'
and add my new carrier policies.xml
after efs paste done, I shut down efs explorer and reboot.
after reboot, the message told me there is no sim in there, and my imei and meid was just like pic.
I tried imei repair tool.
but every time I get in to diag mode, even I didn't pull usb out. The phone is connected or not, it repeats like crazy
how can I repair my X70 PRO PLUS...?
if update will repair it? or I have to send it china??
give me some IDEAS PLS....

whenever you reinstall the software to when it came as original..

Mi8 original Qcn File

imei is broken. It doesn't see the sim. Even when I do *#06# I get the error "Cannot get imei". How do I fix this. I found some guides on the internet, but it wants the qcn file, but I can neither get the qcn file nor find the original qcn file on the internet. QPST Configuration application does not see the phone properly. When I say restore, qcn can't backup. SPC number appears as =000000.

Have you solved it, if you haven't, I suggest you to go to another xiaomi forum or android reddit sf, many active advanced user there..
here on xda not so many dipper user recently..
I haven't face this issues, so I can't give any idea. Best Regards.

@tsongming had them but idk if he still owns the phone since he's not been active recently, but there were some qcn files lurking around in this forum, I'm pretty sure you can find them if you search a little bit carefully.

I found the qcn file, there is no problem in that part. Now I am getting the below mentioned error so I can't load qcn file properly. Why can it be caused? It has original global miui rom in it.

So i wanted to changed the rom, and Xiaomi Flash Tool crashed, it hardbricked the phone.
After 1 weeks of trying to repair the phone, i did it but the IMEI code was deleted.

bro always BACKUP the stock rom before doing anything with mtk client so when something happen u can always back to the original
try to look for someone who has a full backup of the rom and download it

Update : I try with usb but now it stuck on Connect to MD

After a "modeswitch" most probably the device will connect as a different USB device which will need a driver. It takes some time and often needs manual installation when this happens. Check the device manager for the newly appeared unknown device and check the driver...
