Hi, I have tried to install teamviewer (version 6.0.170) to my LG optimus 2X. When I launch it on my phone, it just gives me a black screen and I have to force close it. it used to work well on my old motorola milestone.
May I know which version of teamviewer do you use? Can you send me the apk?
Thank you very much.
Hi,
I use 2x client, with very good results.
Best Remote desktop tool!
Hey There,
Im working a Lot with Remote desktop programs!
Just because.. Its possible!! And there're getting better and faster!
Ive bought, PhoneMyPc a half year ago, which has I think the best way of navigating through your Pc.
Im using SplashTop which is the best for viewing streaming media (Video&Audio) on my phone. Which working unbelievable good!
Also using that one on my Asus Epad!
Its the fastest remote desktop tool I used!
Sometimes I use LogMein because that program really shows everything what is happening on your desktop screen. When your starting up a game.. Not intent to do that, PhonemyPc and Splashtop are giving a black screen, while logmein, is showing you the game. It slow, but it works.
Also Logmein is working almost Everywhere!! Through every proxy etc! While PhonemyPc and Spashtop having some trouble when your in a business environment or heavvy protected area.
We just have splashtop some more time! I think.
Thats why, when Ive to chose one. I'll go for Splashtop!
Greetzz..

Hey guys, didn't know if anyone has seen this yet but Winamp just released an app that's pretty nice. It even has a Lock Screen app and Wi-fi syncing to your pc. I think it is still considered beta but it seems pretty polished so far.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/winamp/com.nullsoft.winamp
Here's a blog with some good info and screenshots too:
Here
I installed it and works great except the wifi sync. I cannot get the Desktop Winamp beta to discover it. I am using the Winamp 5.59 beta which is required. But under devices, I click "Start Discovery" and absolutely nothing happens. Like it is not even trying to discover. And I do have WiFi sync enabled in the phone. Allshare works to connect to my PC so I know the connection can work.
Anyone else tried this with Captivate? Does it work for you? Any tips to make the Wifi sync work?
I got wifi sync to work but it has some serious issues regarding duplicating songs, etc

haven't tried the wifi sync but this music app is the shiz!! was using Doubletwist before..not anymore!
love the interface. able to create playlists with ease and the notification bar-like pulldown screen is genius
I can't see my music by Artist/Song with Winamp, but i can with Search option.. I've synced with Windows Media Player..

I would be happy just getting it to connect USB or WiFi but no go. Did you do anything special to get the connection to work?
For those with WiFi issues, are you sure you have the proper ports open in your firewall? (Just a guess, but that's typically the reason people have trouble connecting to their PC's on networked devices)
The app is quite nice so far, I like the lock screen widget and the launcher widget is nice as well, it has a good look to it and the style almost fits in perfectly with the Launcher Pro widgets.
So far, so good!
Copy to SD card
Anyone figured out how to set the Winamp default to copy music to the SD card? Right now it just dumps the files into the root directory. I checked the Winamp forums and some seemed to suggest there was a way to do this in the Winamp settings. I tried, but couldn't find the option the fix mentioned. I'm wondering if the whole sdcard/sd set up Samsung did on the Captivate will cause problems with Winamp finding the actual sd card?

I can't even connect via USB. I started a thread at WinAmp Forums. Many people with same issue:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=323343
Post there if you are having issues so the developers can see it.
One annoyance for me is the auto mounting feature present(mistakenly blamed dg's latest Cognition ROM because of it). I suppose it's a nice feature if one mainly sync music most of the time.

You can turn this feature off in the options (in fact if you look at the settings in Winamp, it's the first option)
I just want to be able to make a play-list on my computer then transfer all the songs PLUS the play-list to my phone. Is there any way to do this?

Knew that lol(did it after finding it was on), but thanks for the advice though.
that winamp app is pretty sweet, I like it.
Hi i was trying to get some info as to why i am unable to view many sites in desktop view even with user agent set to desktop? Also i have tried some other browsers for example opera, dolphin, skyfire and set them to desktop view to no avail. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Um... you mean landscape?
I have as of yet to find a site that I couldn't view this way.
What sites are you going to that are giving you this issue? Also... is the phone set to auto-rotate when you flip it from horizontal to landscape?
nope
No landscape mode works fine what i mean is i get directed to the mobile versions of site as apposed to the full versions. (desktop versions)
aha that is the fault of the site ebbs not the phone. they are picking up your cookie info and using it to determine your on a mobile device.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
ah so is there no way to stop that from happening cause my girlfriends aria doesn't have this problem?
try typing "about:useragent" in the address bar.
I might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure if you use the SkyFire Browser for android, their is a "desktop mode" option. You can toggle sites being viewed in mobile or desktop mode i believe..
do some experiment dude. it should work.. try using miren browser then switch the user agent into desktop chrome in d settings.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Thanks for all of your answers as for the about:user agent it brings up a selection with andriod, iphone, desktop, and custom but no matter what i pick it always goes back to custom. and as for skyfire like i said ive tried that as well as dolphin both set as desktop but neither actually give me a desktop view as for that last browser suggestion i will give that a try here in a bit and get back to you. This such a strange issue i still don't understand why its only the captivate having this issue as my girlfriends aria and my buddies backflip don't have this.
thats kinda weird huh. enweiz gudluck

PhoneMyPC works for me. I can view live and interact live. Haven't tried anything else. When I remoted in I noticed that the NC keyboard didn't pop up automatically. I use Button Savior to access the PhoneMyPC menu and was able to select the keyboard that way.

Its not that it sucked, I guess... just didn't have the functionality I wanted.
TeamViewer
Just tried the Android app, which youll have to get from the website an sideload, but a quick run though of the app went smooth an seemed just as good as the PC version.
Logmein works well as a remote desktop tool.
I'd recommend TeamViewer b/c with it you can connect to any computer running it. Very helpful for tech support.
Link is here: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewer.apk
phonemypc wont work when lappy is connected to projector..
moving on to LogMeIn, and if that fails... Teamviewer.
thanks for the info buds
I use remotedroid on my phone ... have not tried it yet on the nook but that may be an option.

I also use RemoteDroid and it's so much better on the NC rather than my Droid. The larger screen just makes it so much easier to navigate accurately.
Logmein ran slow. So I installed teamviewer and its sweeeet.
May try remotedroid, but tviewr is doing great currently
// from the nook
Open vnc. It works with my evo so i assume it will work with nook.

Another vote for Teamviewer, pretty sweet.
If you have the ability to set up a vnc client on the target PC, I would recommend openvnc, if not than use teamviewer.
alright, so i installed and got the vnc stuff running, but i cant get any remote input working
im using tightvnc and android-vnc-viewer, and the only input it lets me use is trackball, which the nook obviously lacks. the other input options are greyed out so i cant select anything else.
bug with PhoneMyPC
Be careful with PhoneMyPC PC software.
Software: PhoneMyPC PC software 32bit version 2.0.2.2
OS: Window 7 Ult w/ SP1
I was looking for a remote desktop app that can pass through NAT network, when I have no rights to configure port mapping.
Just tried PhoneMyPC and uninstalled the PC software. I found that I cannot connect to L2TP VPN on my desktop anymore! error code 789. After system restore I managed to roll back and able to connect to that L2TP VPN again.
I tried it on two desktops, same problem.
I am going to try TeamViewer or Logmein.
I'll throw out another option - Unified Remote -it works really well...very fast and a lot of pre-configured controls for common applications. I love it.
Make sure you get the latest version RC2 as it's way better than the market one.

Splashtop works good but that's more of a remote option,

I use Unified Remote. It does require you install the software on your pc but it works great. It also has built-in remotes for VLC, Powerpoint and many other programs.
ok as the title suggests.... anyone of you know of any apps similar to AirDroid? Ive tried using it and 8 out of 10 times i cannot seem to log in to the webclient to connect my phone....
Please note, im not looking for solutions to this problem here.... just alternative apps that does the same thing more or less....
thanks in advance
There's a app called browsix that I've used before, it doesn't have the nice interface AirDroid does but its has half the features of it. You can find it on the market.
Just thought I'd suggest it.
Tried that one but still can't get it to work properly maybe its something to do with my Wi-Fi.... using Wi-Fi file explorer for now tho..... seems to be ok
search button..... just do it.....
try file expert. it has a feature like tht.
bt nt as good as airdroid
Was abt to download that and give it a shot then I read further into the reviews and although it got good ratings, there were reports of spam and huge battery drain.... sigh... airdroid is still the best so far but for the life of me I can't figure out what's wrong with me connecting to the website.... seriously anyone else using airdroid?
search button..... just do it.....
so u r trying to http://web.airdroid.com/ or locally?
ur firewall might block the port
for me, both local and website works fine
The website link is useless for me, the only times I got on it were on the 192.11 etc even that is not stable for me firewall is ok as using other almost similar apps manage to log me on easily
search button..... just do it.....
You might wanna try ES Explorer, since the last updates, it got the SD card sharing function, and with that became the best file manager for me.
i am using es, but does it let you control your phone and its contents from your computer?
Is it possible to transfer data with an FTP server like airdroid or something?
Or can I just access my phones data?

Try websharing app, it has good user interface
With lite version you can upload single file at a time, with full version you can upload bulk files, folder etc. Full version have some nice features.
With airdroid I also have sometimes auto disconnect problem
Sorry for bad english

It does. Check the Remote Manage box in Settings > Remote Settings.
It has been 6 months I dont know if you found anything but I can reccomend a great app just like AirDroid.
It's called SnapPea and its truly awesome. Been using it for some time now and its really great.
Webkey
Not sure if this one has been mentioned but Webkey is astonishingly powerful. Needs root but can connect through various networks; I use it when airdroid won't work. The PC side is just a webpage. Address is http://webkey.cc and you get the app from the Market.
I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to share something I discovered.
Not sure if it has changed yet, but I was using Opera web browser a couple of months ago, and AirDroid does not work with that browser...just an FYI
Cool!
Airdroid 2.0 is awesome!
But the below two are very good as well!

Hi all,
First thread and did not see anyone with a similar problem like I have.
I have a black HTC One 32GB. I am coming to this phone after 6 years with the iPhone...so please be gentle.
What I really liked about the iPhone was how uncluttered the software was. Before coming to the One, I was with the S4 and I HATED it. Crappy software IMHO. But the HTC One is a fresh Android experience. Excellent software and I am glad Apple is not the only company we can go to when we need premium software and hardware.
But one thing really bugs me though. The HTC Sync Manager on the Mac. I plan to stick to the Mac for some time an this means I plan to stick to iTunes to manage my music. But I have found the HTC Sync Manager to be really crappy to sync music to my phone. It crashes frequently and before it does this...it runs through the CPU like crazy...continually uses 100 - 140% CPU sending my Macbook's fans into a tizzy. Does anyone have the same problem? Solution?
Note that I have tried the other so called sync programs on the Play store...iSyncr, Double Twist...all of them are absolute crap. Never could get them working consistently. I want to commit to using the HTC Sync Manager.
My GF used isyncr and it worked great on her sgs3.
She uses Htc sync on her mac and it also works flawlessly.
Try uninstalling it and installing the file the comes with the phone when you plug it in. Good luck.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Mine does not run so well either with my Macbook Pro. Tried using the HTC sync and also had that good old spinning wheel popping up
This worked a bit better..
http://asia.cnet.com/this-guide-will-help-you-use-android-with-a-mac-62221359.htm
I also couldn't get any of the software crap to work except for airdroid with doubletwist. Doubletwist is a crappy app but when you install airdroid in your phone and use the WiFi syncing it works great. Most android mac software is crap and it's a shame. It would be ideal to have a premium phone work with a premium computer
Sent from my HTC One
The phone is absolutely fantastic...but over the last two weeks...I am getting really frustrated trying to get music to sync on my phone...I have not tried Google music manager because i dont like my music on the cloud and i find it cumbersome to sync music in this way...God..there is always something is it not!
Why sync it? It's just as easy to copy the files into the filesystem. Android isnt like iPhone, you can get into all your files on a computer.

I like to 'sync' playlists and not 'copy' songs...there is a subtle difference here I guess. That is the reason I much prefer a syncing solution.
Coming to photos, I have a set of folders (nested) containing all the pictures I would like to see on my phone. But the sync manager disregards all the nested pictures and throws them into one large, disorganised folder. Anybody know of a workaround ? How are the Mac users syncing picures o the One ?
Mac crashed
