I found the incredible s on sale for a very unrealistic low price of $326 with free shipping at an online store called chinasprint. I can't post a link because of my new poster status
Anyone can confirm this is real or a scam?
Whats the lowest price you guys have seen from a reputable source, including shipping?

Got mine for £370 on eBay from Hong Kong, including shipping. Did see it cheaper elsewhere but chose a shop with a decent reputation. Would always rather pay a bit more than risk getting burned. Although if you buy with a credit card you should be protected from scams anyway.
if you did a simple google search, you will know its a scam website.
I got mine from popularelect.com, it was $549 USD with free shipping.

does your version of the Inc S support the 850/1900 (At&T) 3G in the US? the only one i've seen that does is the Canadian (BELL) version.
EDIT: Just read your post in another forum; your version supports T-Mobile 3G? Correct? Thanks!
No, it is a UK model phone and only supports 900/AWS/2100 for 3G. I am using it on T-Mobile and must say, I like it alot.

appreciate your quick reply to my question. to clarify, your phone is able to use T-Mobile USA's hspa network? i'm considering the Inc S and contemplating a switch to T-Mobile if the pricing and hspa coverage is suitable for my needs.

It uses HSPA yes, not HSPA+ that I'm aware of, My wife's G2 is HSPA+ and I consistently throughout the day have slightly faster speeds than her G2 according to speed test. Bear in mind, im also using it with the $5.00 unlimited web2go, being an import T-mo doesn't know the IMEI and can't distinguish it from a dumbphone.
Anyone else find this phone $450-500?
I am looking for a replacement for my aging Nexus One.
I am hoping prices will decrease on Ebay since Verizon is releasing a similar dual CDMA/GSM model; Incredible II
Can someone post some trustworthy website where you buy yours? I am wanna keep my tzone so i am returning the G2x and get this phone.
also, do all versions of this phone works on t-mobile usa's HSPA network? how many versions of this phone are there?

I got mine from ebay. I bought it from 38mobile on ebay. Just check their feedback. I think that's best. 38mobile was quick. Ordered on monday, got it on thursday.
you have to get the model S710E for it to work on Tmobile 3G.
i am also waiting to buy this phone, and thinking if the release of the Incredible 2 gsm+cdma will alter the pricing of this phone.
One question i have is, would it be better to buy the unlocked unbranded S710e over an unlocked droid incredible 2 (pretty sure both have 3G 2100 bands i need).

I also decided to buy the phone, but after finding that the price of the sensation is going to be $500, it doesnt make sense to me to pay more than $500 on the incredible. At that price, i would rather just get the sensation.. i dont see the point here
All prices on ebay from a trustworthy sellers are atleast $530. Also on Handtec.UK the price is above $550 and Clove is the same. As i live in the middle east, i need a place that ships worldwide and accepts paypal
Should i just wait for the sensation to come out and maybe the price will drop?

Who said the price of the sensation is $500, are you kidding me, it's 599 pounds in the UK, that's about nearly a grand in dollars, I aint saying its gonna be a grand here, but its not gonna be selling for $500. I highly doubt you gonna see the sensation for $500 here in the US, show me the proof!
I have no proof, but thats what ppl say on the sensation forum, that non subsidized price is going to be $499 and subsidized is going to be $199
Portuguese Fnac (www.fnac.pt) will have in the next 2 days for 550,00 EUR but the funny thing is that you could get a Desire HD for 500,00 EUR...what would you do ?

Your best bet would be ebay or craigslist. There are some AT&T/Rogers banded N1's on ebay. Like a previous post said, the one you get by getting a Dev account is T-Mobile banded. I will say though that the ones on ebay are pretty out of line on pricing. Good luck to you!

It's best if you go on craigslist/kijiji or even RFD if you want an 850/1900 nexus one. Usually the prices are more reasonable than on ebay.

Yes I have seen some on Craigslist reasonably priced. The ones I have seen on eBay are too expensive, but its all about what you are willing to pay. Also be careful on eBay as well because there are some pretty convincing Chinese knockoffs that are being sold as well. I saw one that was fake as hell sold for almost $400 and it was a $90 phone. Good luck!

So with HTC's disappointing line-up for the first half of 2011 I decided to take a visit to HTCs World site. I looked at the specs of the new phones and noticed that under Network the bands listed are Europe/Asia - HSPA: 900/AWS/2100 MHz. Does this mean that I could finally buy an unlocked HTC phone and have my US T-mobile 3G aswell? The Flyer has the same Network specs. Out of the 5 new phones that HTC announced the Flyer and Incredible S only have those specs. The Chacha, salsa, and wildfire S, each have the standard 900/2100mhz band for HSPA Europe/Asia.
http://www.htc.com/www/product/incredibles/specification.html

Can someone confirm my suspicions? If so I can't wait to see what the fall lineup has in-store. Perhaps a dual core phone. I hate the line up US carriers offer.

Yes 1700 but is that not AWS. If I'm not mistaken AWS is the 1700/2100 spectrum. So since AWS is stated in the specs for the tablet and phone it should work in the US on T-mobiles 3G correct? I've been waiting for htc to release phones in Europe with US 3G for T-mobile forever. I wish my TD2 had had US 3G. The power switch broke sadly and I bought a used Nexus one and T-mobile made me pay the higher rate for data. With an unlocked phone I can sneak by on the lower unlimited rate.
This is a good news for T-Mobile and Wind users as it supports AWS 3G.
Supposedly it is going to be sold by best buy in the US.. So unless that rumor was false it makes sense to have some flavor US 3G network support and TMo makes more sense (ha no pun intended) than ATT. So AWS on the specs must be true.
Unless all these little clues are an inaccurate vast coincidence.

You couldn't be any mote wrong. The original is not a US phone and is GSM based. So it makes sense t-mobile could get it. T-mobile UK has it and so do other GSM carriers in the world. Go to HTC.com/www and check it out for ur self. The tech is GSM. You need to learn a bit more about world carriers and phones and ditch big red. GSM is what the world uses. Don't be surprised when Big Red starts to use sim cards.

Is this Incredible S gonna launch on T-Mobile USA?
UK retailers and mobile providers are already accepting preorders.
I'm not sure if T-Mobile USA will get this because it is already being launched elsewhere. Are they gonna launch this phone late?
Verizon already had it in the US (not S). And I don't see any leaked T-Mobile roadmaps hinting an HTC Incredible S launch.
What do you guys think?
Wish it'll be released by BestBuy in states and canada like NS.

If it does it will be like any other phone that hits Europe and Asia first. US carriers will get it 6-12 months later. So if it does come here it will be later on. The thing I'm concerned about is having it work with Tmo US 3G if I buy it unlocked from Europe since it has the AWS bands. I Love buying unlocked phones because some of them we never see here in the states.

One thing is for sure.. I'm not going to pay 499 euros (690 USD!!) for it.. plus shipping.. I'll be waiting for it to pop up stateside for around 500 USD I would hope...

When it gets here the price unlocked will drop to about that. That's how long it will take for it to get here. It will be that old. Most I am willing to pa for an unlocked phone they don't sell in the states is $550. Sadly I would rather use that money for a radiator to help keep my car cool with all it's new found power.
I'm sure there will be at least two different models, a European model without AWS and a T-mobile US version with AWS. Just like the HD2. The T-mobile US one will be carrier locked too. You know I'm right.

The only version that has been announced is the European/Asian one and it has AWS so this one could also be sold by T-Mobile USA.
However the question would be why bother when they already have the recently released 3.8" myTouch 4G with 4GB of storage, the same CPU and GPU, etc, etc. While the Incredible S seems to be better all round, with the exception of available storage, there hardly seems to be any point in adding such a similar phone to the T-Mobile USA line-up, especially when the myTouch 3G was made specially for them.
They will probably wait until October later this year to introduce a new variant of this phone and some dual core HTC phones.
I just received an email from T-Mobile and the Nexus 4 is available on the T-Mobile site. I find this funny because I NEVER received any email from Google about the N4 product release. Huuummmm????

Not a big deal for me, I hate AT&T and I have to have a GSM phone because I travel overseas for my business and CDMA is not and option for me. I still find T-mobile the best bang for the buck, hands down. I have never had any issues with customer service and the coverage and network speeds are fine for my everyday needs. So far the N4 upgrade was best 200 dollars I have spent, and I sold my GNEX for 200 an hour after I bought the N4 so my out of pocket expense was zero, not bad.

T-Mobile Nexus 4 thread [DISCUSSION] [NEWS]
Closed
Hi Guys!
First of all, my apologies for opening this thread, I've searched the forum and haven't really found the information that I'm looking for, so I'm wondering if you could assist me on this subject.
I'll be visiting New York next 24/08 and I'm really looking forward to purchasing a HTC ONE. Basically I want to purchase a phone that works on my home country (Portugal), so I guess I should be looking for an unlocked model.
I did some research on the WEB and I'm having trouble to find a place (in NYC) to purchase it. Could you please indicate if it can be purchased in store? I believe I read somewhere that some carriers over there sell it unlocked but still, I would have to sign up for a 2-year contract.
I also found that I can be bought from htc.com (best price I've found so far) but the problem is that I do not have a US credit card. Do you know of site (?) that can simulate an american credit card? As mI'm staying there with friends, posting the item to their adress wouldn't be a problem.
My last question (and thanks for having read this far, ! ), upon buying the device, is its warranty worlwide or would I have to buy an extended warranty (if possible?)?
Many thanks for helping me and for your advices on this.
Best Regards,

Hello,
When you get to New York, go into any Wal Mart or big store and buy a Visa gift card for the amount of the phone. Note that the price that you see on the website DOES NOT include tax or shipping. You see see the final total at the very end of checkout right before you enter payment method. Then, you can go online and register the card to whatever address you are staying at becuase HTC will only ship the phone to the address on the card. You do this at the wesbite on the back of the card. Once you have done that, you can go to the HTC website and but the phone and have it shipped to the address that you are staying at.
Hope this helps!
Look up HTC limited warranty
It states that the warranty is only enforceable and valid in countries where the phone is sold. So... You might want to shoot HTC an email.
Hey Guys!
Thanks so much for the above.
One question though, do you think it's best to order it though HTC or can I buy it unlocked in store??
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
First of all there's no Walmart in New York, second, when you by from HTC's online store, you don't have to pay any taxes. If I'm not wrong, only if you live in California or Texas you have to pay taxes, I'm not really sure about any other state but I'm 100% sure that it doesn't apply for New York state. Just be carefull about the shipping time if you want to buy directly from HTC (you said you're visiting NY, not moving out here). Also, you can find unlocked gsm ONEs at T-Mobile or AT&T stores but in this case, yes you have to pay taxes and they come with all the branding crap but it shouldn't be an issue if you're planning to flash a cooked ROM. Good luck!

Hi Pirateye!
I appreciate your advices. I see that on the HTC web site the sell different modelo, the 'normal' One and the GE One.
Could you possible recomend One based on your experience with yours?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
You can either get those gift cards (there is an activation fee on most) or you can ask your friend to help you out and pay for it. I can't answer your question about warranty as I'm not sure myself.
However, I've purchase my HTC One Developer Edition on a Saturday night and chose 2 day shipping (~$9). The stand shipping is about $5, so if you're in a rush, just pay the extra $4. Also, no tax. Since it was on the weekend, it didn't ship out until Monday and arrived on a Wednesday. (I live in NYC).
There are no Walmarts in NYC. The closes is in Long Island but I don't know how well stock that Walmart is or if they even have the HTC One. ATT doesn't seem to have the 64gb in stores and if they do, they are charging $700 and you'll have to pay tax. And I'm not sure how much it will cost you to unlock the phone (probably $20).
It cost 580 for the 32 Tmobile version but I don't recommend that since you live oversea so that extra band probably doesn't mean much to you. The developer editions $650 for 64gb.
http://shopamerica.htc.com/cell-phones/productdetail.htm?prId=41599
So far, I've had my HTC One for about 2-3 weeks now, and have no issue (it doesn't appear I have issues with gaps or anything wrong with the screen). I prefer a bit of a smaller screen and removable battery but the phone is just beautiful. The battery life is amazing, I can go about 24 hours on the phone before I need to charge (with about 3-4 hours of heavy usage).
The normal One comes with HTC Sense while the GE comes with stock Android (as seen on Nexus phones). I bough mine in April, so is the "normal one". I also flashed a GE Rom a while ago but I came back to Sense. From my point of view Sense is cooler meaning that you have more features but others might like plain Android flavor. Just do a search on YouTube for HTC One Sense vs Google Edition.

I agree .
US models operate on different bands from EMEA (European Middle East and Africa)
GSM,GPRS,EDGE (2g) : 850/900/1800/1900 MHz (USA & EMEA)
UMTS,HSPA (3g) :
900/1900/2100 MHz (EMEA)
850/AWS/1900/2100 MHz (USA T Mob)
850/950/2100 MHz (USA A T & T)
LTE (4g)
800/1800/2600 MHz (EMEA)
700 MHz/AWS (USA AT&T, T Mob)
I would urge you not to buy in USA if you want full use in Portugal or any other European countries.
There are posts on xda from people who bought in USA and had problems of not all phone and data bands working in their home country.
In addition to difficulties with warranty, likely none

No way i'm ever going to actually use Rogers as a provider.
Thank yah.
Use a third party company who'll sell you an unlock code.
I have unlocked 2x Rogers Moto X via cellunlocker [.net] for use on Bell
It's like $8 and turnaround was 3 hours for the first and like 6 hours for the second (albeit I did both on the weekend)
Correct me if I am wrong but if you buy a phone outright isn't the carrier suppose to unlock the phone for you too?

There's a fee, different depending on which carrier you're talking about.

This! I used cellunlocker[.net] over the weekend to unlock my X. Cost $8 and took 15 minutes.
Are Rodgers selling them sim free?

Nop. For Rogers you have two options:
1. Buy just the phone for $599+tax and unlock it yourself (you lose your warranty as per Rogers). Not all stores will allow you to purchase it like this though. If they let you buy just the phone they only make $50, where as if they get you on a plan they make $200. I bought mine at Shops at Don Mills (Don Mills and Lawrence) in Toronto. They should still have stock.
2. Buy the phone for $549.99 and go on a month to month plan for 90 days (3 months). ONLY after that you can PAY Rogers $50 to unlock it. The first option was cheaper for me as I'm with Bell Mobility. You still lose warranty if Rogers unlocks it, as per Rogers.
3. Sign a contract. I don't do contracts. I like being off the leash nom sayin'?
I know this doesn't coincide with the new CRTC rules but Rogers hires lawyers to find basically everything they can get away with. The CRTC rules technically don't start till December 2nd.

^+1. You know your ****.
Option #1 listed is probably the best option if you're not with Robbers, or do not want to sign a 2-yr contract with Robbers.

LOL Robbers, sounds about right. I wasn't impressed by their plans at all. I was gonna switch to Rogers cause their support and LTE speeds are slightly better, but their plans just flat out SUCK right now. I'm paying $74 after tax on Bell for a fat plan (6GB data, unlimited this and that, caller ID etc) and an equivalent plan on Rogers would cost me $105 + tax
I was like naw I'm good just sell me the phone lol
I'm hoping Verizon is determined to dominate Rogers by offering much better deals. Trust me, the coming competition between Verizon and Canadian carriers is great news for the consumer. Everyone's gonna price cut each other and we will laugh all the way to the bank =P

That'd be great in theory. But corporations exist to make money. While I do sincerely hope Verizon will bring competition; I also doubt they'll shake down the market. Why make less if you can rob people in broad day light?

Because with Verizon being a new player, they will have to undercut Rogers(Fido) and Bell(Virgin) to make sales. They have to offer a better value proposition to get people who are loyal to existing Canadian Carriers to switch over.
I know I wouldn't switch my carrier unless I got a better deal or better speeds/service.
But you could be right because Verizon can outbid all Canadian Carriers combined in the upcoming frequency band auction so they could just have same prices as everyone else and just brag about having the fastest speeds. Kind of like what Rogers is doing right now. Just to give you a number, Verizon has 100 million customers, Rogers has 10 million. They have deep pockets mang.

That's because they've moved to 2-year plans and jacked up the monthly cost to ensure they make up the subsidy within the contract term. Take a look at Bell's current plans and you'll see something similar. In comparsion, your current plan is probably based on a 3-year contract.
You can thank the CRTC for how this turned out.
+1 on cellunlocker[.net]
Cost $8 and turnaround was all of about 15 minutes...

Ah I see. I was thinking about Option 2 but only knew bits of the pieces. Thanks for the clarification.
+1 to cellularunlock.net
Ordered an unlock code for the Moto X around 6:39pm EST and received an email with the unlock code 2 hours after.
Oh and Hello everyone! First post here in XDA after years of lurking

Another +1 for CellUnlocker. They came through for me overnight. They're the cheapest I've seen of any other unlock service (Unlockcode247, UnlockUnit).
Rogers unlock
Rogers says if you buy outright they will unlock for free as per CRTC rules starting in Dec. Rogers say they will honor the rules now on outright phone purchases. That being said the 8 bucks I paid to cellunlocker.net was well worth it, got the code in less then an hour and didn't have to deal with anyone from Rogers. The Moto x will work on fido out of the box as thats my carrier I just unlocked mine to use in the USA.

I think I read VZW pulled out for the time being of trying to buy a Canadian carrier.
Does anyone know of a reliable place to unlock the AT&T version?
