Hey guys, when I didn't have the extended case I had a seidio one from best buy it was a hard case and it was awesome. I was wondering if there are any that I could buy then mod? Or just buy. Thanks

I'm looking for something like this too. I've seen the htcpedia cases, and the hard rubber ones look good, but my girl is NOT into black or red (the only choices available for hard rubber cases). Silicone is no good either, as it makes it harder to get in and out of her jeans pockets.
Ahh haha, Yeah i bought the silicone one from htcpedia... I don't use it .. EVER its terrible. i wish they made one like the otterbox or sedio ones.. were its 2 pieces. and slides right on...
this is what i did with the speck case
That's what I did to the hard rubber verizon case.
That's my seidio case... Tried to cut it then realized it came together at the part that I was cutting out.
And that's the silicone case from htcpedia. Terrible quality.

So just got the nexus s 4g, wanna get a really really slim minimalist case almost a bumper type case, so I narrowed between two choices the Nexus S Ringke Case or the Incipio feather Ultralight Hard Shell Case. And i ddint seem to find any other good alternatives between those, any suggestions? I posted the link to both below.

Incipio Feather is less bulky and more slim than any silicon/TPU cases.
If your picky and takes care of your phone go with the feather by incipio. Tpu case if your more caresless and drops phones constantly

a review on the incipio site said the case needed to be trimmed to fit the 4g? I am also trying to decide on the incipio because its made for the nexus s and the NS4g is a bit thicker.

Incipio fits well on my NS4G, and since every case isn't exactly the same u might have to trim only little bit on top of power button cut out, more like scraping off some plastic, sharp knife will help. I strongly recommend that case, I love it.

ditto. my wife and i both have incipio feather case, i'm a phone in the pocket guy so need something light and thin that doesnt add bulk. only thing i wish it it covered top and bottom better, but no biggie. and my power button works fine, the cutout is not centered to it, i thought about trimming the top of the cutout like 1mm MAYBE, but not necessary. great case for the $, check deals on amazon.
i would go for the rearth ringke. Nice case and good deal on the bundle (w/2 audio plugs and screen protectors, even if they are a little small).
Man, im way to hard on my phones to use a sleek case. i tape two 4" pieces of foam top either side of mine

Loving my note 2 but I find it slippery to hold and a pain to prop up against things as it just slides away from anything you lean it up against. I know there are big rubber cases available but I was wondering if anyone has come across a rubberised replacement back to give me the added grip without the extra bulk of a case.
Any ideas to improve this lack of grip without adding a bulky case?

This isn't quite the same, but I got the nilkin case, which is very thin,
and when I put it in the case, I removed the back cover.
It's barely thicker. Maybe half a mm.

Ive had a look a the nilkin case looks ok but I think its a harder rubber almost plastic. Im after a grippy soft rubber what would be perfect is a back cover which has the same feel as the battery cover on a sky tv remote. The skinomi looks interesting

does the nilkin case have multiple layers? if so.. does it separate?

You could also try eGrips.com and then you don't need a new back cover or case.

You can try using plasti dip. It's removable if you don't like it.

How about this case? Texturized back made out of TPU. Super thin, too.

You are correct, it's pretty plasticy. It's a single layer - pretty simple case, no frills.
And yes, I lose NFC. If I ever come into a situation where I ever could use it, then I might start to care. So far, I don't.

Need something grippy... lying on my back phone flies from my hand and kicks me in the teeth!
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
You could plasticoat the back yourself, or use a textured vinyl.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Chunology that case seems ok but its made from hard plastic so wont have the grip im after. Yes I think texturising the back with some sort of self adhesive non slip material is the way to go... gadget grips or similar its just a shame they dont make one that fits the back of the phone perfectly like a screen cover does.
Maybe a gap in the tech market!

I ordered some regular black plastidip, should arrive on monday, I'll let you know how it works.
Plastidip is overpriced in the UK for some reason though. It's about $6 a can in the US and about £16 a can in the UK :/
The Zagg/Best Skins ever, body guards clear protective skins have a rubbery feel and offers improved grip over the shiny plastic.
this case is idential to nikkin without the logo.

Yeah let me know how the plastidip works. Im interested to know if it peels off easily. Ive now bought a hybrid case very similar to the one posted above in that ebay link. Im fairly happy with it mines white hard plastic slim not bulky and it has a rubberised coating on it plus mine was only £3.90 on ebay . I found the rubber coating felt slippery when it was new but ive had it a week now and the grip seems to be improving.

I want a case with a kick stand that resemble the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Not a big azz kick stand or like the usual. I like the case to be thin
and the kick stand to be skinny at the EVO size.

Not really. I seen one before and no feeling it.
Really? I think thats honestly the best one with a kick stand I've seen so far. I like the fact that the kick stand is magnetic and not likely to be prone to breaking from a plastic piece or anything. Good luck finding what you're looking for though.
Seido surface looks nice
What about a kickstand case with an extended battery. I have just seen the horrible Hyperion ones on Amazon. Any good ones out there?
can some one send me the lowest price deal link for seido. i need it but its too costly..
Try this one
Looking for a case that's:
1. Rugged (at least decent shock impact)
2. Somewhat slim
3. Not too pricey
So far I'm torn between:

And

Anyone know which case or of another have the best combination of shock impact without being too thick?
Thanks.

I have the case from the first link you posted. I've had no problems whatsoever thus far. The belt clip is really secure and the silicon not only covers the phone but it serves as a border around the screen so if you drop it the screen won't even touch the floor really. The case is decent too. Definitely worth $13.
about how thick is the case?

It's not bulky. You can trust the reviews on amazon for the case. It's worth it especially for the price.
I have the otterbox defender series. Due to the design of the case, There's a bubble in the screen protector. I simply poped it out and replaced it with a zagg screen protector. Search ebay, I only spent $30. Still waterproof and my 3 kids literally throw my phone across the room and it's still in brand new condition

I almost went with the iBlason, but ended up going to Unicorn Beetle route. It's a nice case and I really like it. It's a tough TPU throughout with a polycarbonate slab on the back. Looks pretty nice and feels good in the hand--quality materials. The only thing is you have to shave the little inner button nubs off with a razor blade as the Amazon reviews mention.
Good luck deciding.

I own both, as well as just about every other case made for our phone...
I hate the i-Blason, and have since I took it out of the package. Nothing really wrong with it, just not my taste. Inner portion is too mushy, hard to slip it in and out of my pocket, and I don't think anyone would call it "thin".
For "thin and rugged" you are far better off with the SUPCASE. Also look at the TUDIA Ultra Slim Melody.
Hey guys got my new HTC One M in Silver and keeping it naked. Just added a Zagg Glass protector i got at Best Buy. Wanted to start a thread discussing how is life using a naked phone. Any sleeves being used? Or skins. I was thinking about getting the back of phone sprayed with plastidip for some grip but i dint its a good idea. I'm hoping for a nice slim aluminum case to come out to take advantage of mods on that instead of the phone.
Those that are interested in sleeves or some leather premium feel should check out storyleather. I have a link down below.
http://www.storyleather.com/smart-phone-cases/htc-one-m8.html
I'm currently waiting for the dodocase sleeves as well but storyleather has customizations with color and size if you have a thin case or thick screen protector.
Hey, in go naked when not at work, keep it in a clean front trouser pocket. But it is extremely slippery. I use the freebie case that it came with, at work. I ordered a quicksand tpu case that is very grippy. I had one on my last htc (one x +), I liked it because it's slim. But prefer naked when I can.

Nice, where did you order the quicksand case, may check it out. Yea i'm obsessed with this phone naked but i wish they added some grip on the sides. Dbrand is making some skins that soon to be released so i want to check those out. I'm hoping the cold aluminum can penetrate through the skin on those mornings lol

I wouldn't use it naked, simply because of the metal back. Remember how the original iPhone looked at the back after a while?
Yeah my last htc was poly carbonate. That was very hard to scratch

Yea i hear you, alumimium is bit soft in the metal department so its a bit scratch prone. A pair of keys and htc one in the same pocket would make your phone look like it came out of a cat fight.
Heres the link if anybodys interested in the quicksand case

Solid case right here.... i went naked the first week, but the phone is just too slippery to have out in the elements....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hyperion-HT...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item43c7d9ba6e
Anyway, I got it in smoke and the case is just the right amount of clear to still show off my black M8.. plus the back is a little "frosted" so it adds the perfect amount of grip. The buttons are cutout, not bumps on the case, which also helps me not press volume up/down when pulling it out of my pocket. (noticed i did that a lot). The case has a bit of a hardened bumper to brace the phone.
Have mine a TPU case, dropped my phone at a ball game and found the volume UP button has a nice dent in it now and doesn't work anymore. Fun.
Easily best TPU case money can buy for the M8 IMHO - http://www.cruzerlite.com/cases/htc/one-m8-2014/bugdroid-circuit-case-for-htc-one-m8-2014
Smoke color is perfect.
This case has served me well for the $1.65 I paid for it.
Super thin and has the rubberized coating on the back.
What's the best clear case out there? TPU or hard plastic (I prefer hard plastic, to be honest)

Hehe
I've never used a case and never had a problem. Most cases are kinda ugly to me, but the M8 has some good looking ones. I'll still be going without it though because I'm going to once again get the car dock like I did for my M7 and my Sensation, and a case won't work in there. I hate the bulky universal docks so I get the nice slim HTC one that you can just slide the phone right into and have it secure and charging.
I am using the Spigen clear case although I prefer the phone naked.
I did put a matte clear skin on the phone to prevent scratches, but you lose the nice feel of the aluminum.
The gunmetal is very susceptible to scratches. I already have a handful of minor scratches but they can only be seen at a certain angle. I think I'm still gonna use it naked and just use a case when at the gym. After a year if the back is really messed up I'll just replace the back with a new one. Etradesuoply has them for $50 and it's fairly straightforward on ifixit on how to remove the back. The only thing I'm not sure on is the NFC tag

No case for now as I have a skin on it from bestskinsever. Bit of a pain to put on but worth it.
