Mugen 3600mAh extended battery - EVO Shift 4G Accessories

I got this battery a few days ago for my EVO Shift,it lasted more than double of the original battery, very happy with it so far.

Thanks for finding that! Post some pics of before/after? That thing looks pretty huge.

Yes, pics please.

Well, I was gonna post some pics for you all but, it gives me an error while saving it. Odd.

is the extended battery door sort of rubbery like the stock door?

I tried to post some pics, but got an error, will try it again later tonite.I'm really happy with the performance of the battery,I know it's pricey, but I need something that can last for me the entire day(7am-9pm)with heavy usage, for the extended battery,I still have around 60% left at the end of my day,for the OEM,if i don't plug in during the day,it died at around 4:30pm with heavy usage.

i noticed this battery or door is not available on the mugen official website yet
at least not that i can find
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/

How thick does it make the phone? (i.e., face down on a desk)

Thing looks like a monster. Wonder how it actually looks in the phone.

I know. The Shift is pretty darn thin considering how powerful it is and where we were with smartphones 5-6 years ago (Apache!) but I sort of wish there was a battery in between this and stock. Maybe 40-50% more than stock rather than 100%+ stock. Say 2000-2200mah, that would get even heavy users through a single day. I don't need this device to go for two straight days, but I'd sure love to never have to worry about getting through one.

Check out my post on the general portion of this device forum.

I just received this MUGEN battery yesterday. I charged it to 100% then calibrated it. Im using cyclonic rom. The battery started losing power @ a rate of %8 an hour with moderate usage(no videos. just browsing forums and texting). It barely got me through the workday. No different than my stock battery. Why is this happening?? Did i calibrate it incorrectly?

Nope you just purchased incorrectly, one should NEVER EVER support Mugen, they suck and are grossly overpriced. If you're going to spend alot, get more OEM stuff or get good generic equipment that's often 80-90% as good but for like 1/3 the price of OEM

Case and point, my Gorilla Gadgets 3500mAh battery ran me $30 and also dramatically increases my battery life. Also the 100mAh difference is a drop in the bucket when it comes to battery life so its doubtful the Mugen outperforms the Gorilla Gadgets battery by any margin.

Don't buy that kind. It requires a ugly back case that makes your phone over-sized and bulky. There's a lot of other good batteries out there for a good price.
I just checked battery calibration app and it's reporting 3867mv as of right now on my extended digital energy battery that fits my normal back cover just fine. Don't worry about which kernel your on so much as what rom your running. Different roms will drain more/less battery even when running the same kernel.

i have the same one and i have to say i'm quite pleased with it. especially being overclocked lol.

how is the 2150 in comparison to the stock?

added bulk doesnt bother me.......
but if i can find a nice oem 1500 or 1800mah battery id like comparisons as well
plus the 3500mah on ebay
I had the Acase 3500mah battery, and it was awful. I got much better life out of the stock 1300 that came with the dinc. I have a couple of the OEM 1800mah coming early this week. I'll post back with my impressions.
where did you order them
I have the 2150..1800 from chichitec on eBay and of course..the stock. The 1800 is nice but I can't go a whole day (I am somewhat of a heavy user). The 2150 is my everyday battery...I can easily go nearly 2 days and I like the added bulk! As for the stock battery...I don't even know where it is. Running Athena withstock kernal

That's where I got my 1x1800 from.
Gives me SUPER battery life now.
It's like sex compared to stock.
bulk is one thing but actually looking ugly is another. I bought it about 5 months ago, used it for a few hours, and it sits in my closet in the exact same place i left it. Its just not a good design. I recommend the 1800mah INC/Evo battery, its $19.99. Im using this and Lou's #8 or #9 and am getting the best batt life ever.
Got my 1800's. Charging one in the wall charger that came with it, to make sure it gets a full charge. Then, I'll throw it in my dinc, clear the batt stats and condition it throughout the week. I'll have a final verdict by the weekend, I hope.
I just sold my Incredible but OEMs are always the best. I can send you mine $30 shipped. OEM 2150 from Verizon.
I use an 1800 and it increased my battery about 40% I'd say, which is what I was expecting. I can't really complain about it

I have the 2150 OEM battery and it's really great. I also like the extra bulk, and with a red hard rubber case from this place:
http://htcpedia.com/news/case-cover-htc-droid-incredible-extended-batteryc.html
It looks really nice with the case, I can hold it easier, still slides right into my pocket and have absolutely no complaints about the upgrade.
With the case I find myself not accidentally touching the volume buttons on the side also.
So far my best battery life has been 86 hours with this battery, but since then I've upgraded my ROM and Kernel, so I'm in the process of doing a another test without a charge until it dies.
So far: 2days, 19hours with 49% left - so things are looking good
3 days of idle time. That's not really a good judge of battery life.

not entirely. 3G, GPS and location are all on. I've spent a good 45 minutes texting, 30 for calls, 10 minutes playing angry birds and 15 on nav.
Not normal usage but I'm wanting to see how long it can go with light use.
Normal use I'll end the day with a good 50-60% left depending how long I run the GPS on My Tracks and Pandora streaming.
With screen off it's somewhere around 1-2 hours per %.
Battery life depends heavily on use. I get just about 24 hrs +/- on my 2150 on a normal day. The more I use the less it lasts. The less I use the longer it goes. That's whyI say its hard to judge battery life. So when I see you're getting 2+ days, I automatically think idle time. Same with my 1500. I can easily pull off 24 hrs with limited use and 2 nights of sleep in the equation.

That's true. Services like 3G, GPS as well as ROM type and especially Kernel type impact battery life pretty hard too as I'm sure you know.
It's hard to judge life off of other peoples estimates, I always take other peoples estimate on battery life lightly because of all the variables included, not to mention they could have left out a few major details that impacted the life of the charge.
I'm just putting my results out there though, it's nice to know if I get stuck somewhere without a charger that my phone will be able to last that long if I can remind myself not to constantly use it to stream music or watch videos lol

Yeah it does. I always keep WiFi on (whether it's connected or not) GPS, and location settings. Data sync I toggle manually because that can shorten your battery even more.
Kernel settings are the most important. I have my phone set to 128MHz when the screen is off and a min of 245MHz when it's on (Smartass settings).

Is there an "extended" battery the size of the original?

Are there any batteries for the DINC that are the size of the original but have a higher capacity (if thats the proper wording for it)?
most people use the oem htc 1500 batteries... they are only 200 mah bigger but it add a decent ammount of life to your phone... I have seen those reports too, don't believe everything you read.
I had a Touch Pro 2 before this and the standard battery was a 1500mAh. I had the Seido 1750 for it and it was a lot better than the original battery.
When I got my Dinc I was using the stock TP2 battery for a while and then I bought the Seido 1750 for it as well. I have no regrets, in my opinion it is a lot better than the 1500mAh battery.
The way my phone is set up and the way I use it, with the original battery I could rarely make it through a full day without having to charge it.
With the 1500 by the end of the day I was about done (anywhere from 15% to 25% remaining.
With the Seido at the end of the day I have between 30% and 40% remaining.

Buying that battery now. Hopefully it adds a little boost in battery life
I bought the battery mentioned in this thread and have been getting great battery life. Right now I am at 21 hours with about 17% left. Prior to this I was unrooted and having to recharge every 8 hours on the stock battery. Definitely recommend it but the best improvement to my battery life occurred after I rooted.

Flip it over and squeeze along the edges, working from the camera end to the bottom, making a firm connection as you work down the edges. After a few times things settle in and closing the back is no challenge at all.

Yeah I bought the battery linked in this thread and its been worlds better than the stock. I'm at 27 hours since my last charge, with wifi and Bluetooth always on a few calls and about an hours worth of robodefense, I still have 18% left. are you sure that's even possible ? unless the battery was made of some other kind of materials, I have tyrouble seeing how you could store more power in the same battery size.
If you don't want a bigger phone, Your best bet would probably be to buy a second standard battery but it's a hassle to swap the battery when it's empty
If the battery is the same size it could in theory have more juice but it would be negligible. Seriously though, I picked up a charging cradle with battery charging slot and 2 spare batteries for $20. I also have a car charger and 3 chargers in my house. Unless you get a battery that is about double the size, you won't see a big difference and even then many batteries don't live up to their specs. Chargers and spare batteries are cheap. We're not dealing with smartphones of a decade ago where everything was proprietary and would cost at least $30 a pop.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
I remember reading something about this... I think it might have even been on this forum but it was something along the lines of "Don't you think, if it were possible to fit more juice into the same size battery, that samsung wouldn't do that with their OEM batteries?"
Samsung, and I'm sure many other major device manufacturers don't just buy a battery off ebay and throw it in their phones. they spend time and money researching better battery technologies to get the best power/life they can.

How long have you had the battery? I'm looking for a new one as well but not if I am going to get scammed. Thanks!
Not Nexus related, but I have a vibrant that I got the Galaxy S 2 Epic 4G Touch battery for recently. Battery life went from about 6 hours to dead (month old 1500 mAh replacement battery bought at a phone hut) to 34 hours to dead (new samsung 1800mAh battery.) Nothing else changed.
My point is this:
1. If the above statements about samsung packing in as much as possible are true, why didn't the vibrant have a 1800mAh battery from the start? (hint, it is always about money.)
2. Take a crap 1500 mAh battery, slap a 1800 mAh sticker on it. People that buy these batteries will see an improvement because most generally they are replacing a worn out battery with a new one. Of course you will see an improvement, your worn out stock battery has only (arbitrary number) 600 mAh worth of usefulness left. The replacement is new and is not worn yet. (All arbitrary numbers follow) So, you will still see an improvement if you take a rated 1500mAh battery, that is labeled 1800mAh, but is in actuality only 1000mAh.
So asking if there is another, bigger, better battery for the Nexus made by Samsung, is a very valid question. So:

Because it is a device from 2 years ago (2010) and the S2 is from q3 2011. Maybe two years allowed them to cram more juice into the battery.
Maybe it wasn't viable then, to stick such a large battery, considering the power consumption of the vibrant compared to the S2. Maybe if they did the price would have gone up.
I highly doubt that Samsung would just stick different stickers on the same capacity batteries. maybe you had a defective or a non-original one. There are people that measure this kind of stuff. How much damage would Samsung's image suffer if someone found out that they sell a 1000 mAh battery with different labels and price tags?

"Take a crap 1500 mAh battery" In this case "crap"="non oem"
I figured that would be obvious with my prior "phone hut" comment. I guess not.

I am a big fan of the OEM batteries. I have not tested a non-oem battery that will perform anywhere close to the stated specifications so far.
If you guys find some good battery reviews, tests, etc. please post up.
Keep in mind that comparing a brand new "Craptastic Brand™" battery to your old worn out OEM battery is kind of pointless for getting a feel of the comparative quality/capacity of a battery.

yes, it works properly. I had used my original battery for 12 months when I switched over to this one. The improvement was very noticeable.
I just charged my phone to 99%, I will report back in 24 hours with battery information and battery history since unplugged.
Sounds great!

The best slim battery. Ever.

Let's say there are two types of removable phone batteries:
1.SLIM
These are the batteries which just fit straight into the phone without a bigger back cover needed, just like nature (the manufacturers) intended.
They can be extended, and offer a greater capacity, but their physical size remains the same.
then there's...
2. CHUNKY
The bigger batteries which offer a much greater potential capacity but also need a bigger back cover. They make you look at your phone and think "does this make my phone look fat?".
Of course, people are generally accepting of plus sizes nowadays, but slimmer is more practical, in the sense of a phone, right?
Anyway *clears throat*, I bought one of each of these, both being extended.
Firstly, I bought a chunky one, 3500MaH. I'm not sure if it's the phone, or the fact that the battery was el cheapo ($6 AUD), but it seemed liked the stock battery with nothing but an extra weight attached
Then, I purchased a slim one, the infamous gold '2430' MaH battery.
I wouldn't be surprised it was actually 1430 MaH, for it was worse than stock (1500MaH).
The point of this thread is to ask you which of the SLIM extended batteries (NO CHUNKY, ONLY SLIM) is the best you have ever used?
And may you also provide a price / link?
Buy a stock battery and also get your phone checked at lg service center I tried almost all batteries and all roms the battery drain and stand by time was worse...went lg service center they changed mother board it was destroyed by difference in voltage due to batteries and some roms now I have more than 2 days battery...no more flashing and no more experimenting with my phone now I love my phones exceptional battery...I used to think people lie when they say 2 day battery n all...trust me this phone has good battery just get it checked at lg service center also they told me to use stock charger only

how much they changed your motherboard?? trough warranty?? :fingers-crossed:
I would normally always go stock, its safer. even for the little extra money, your getting something sure to work and be safe and tested well.
I'm currently using / testing Battpit Battery you can buy on Amazon.co.uk after the 3rd charge cycle it tested and averaged out to 1740mAh or so, and under heavy use it turned out about 10 hours on almost constant use. i was very impressed.
i'm currently still doing my standby minimum use test for the past couple days and its still going.
heres a link for the battery i bought
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battpit-tra...8G/ref=sr_1_93?ie=UTF8&qid=1354948855&sr=8-93
so far my tests have found it to be worth the buy. the capacity and charge have been as labeled, and the battery performance so far is going well.

I've ordered a 1800 mAh from ebay. Will report later on the differences with stock battery. Be sure to always charge your phone completely and only charge when battery drops bellow 20% or so, this will lead to a better condition of the battery.
Bought a "gold 2430mAh" battery.
I will edit my post in 2 days to do a feedback
Remember to do a calibration of the batterie to increase performances : Here is the app
EDIT : Yep, it tooks me 2 yearsq to do the tests... Seriously, thoses "gold" battery are totally fake. The battery did'nt handle 2 charges and wasn't better than the original battery.
As I wrote in the other battery thread...stock battery format with better Li-Ion technology, or Li-Pol could give maximum of 1800 mAh. This is a realistic number, I recently bought a Mugen extended battery and it seems to have given 1700 mAh. But all these golden batteries...:cyclops:

anyone even find a REAL Li-Poly battery for our phone? cause the ones that claimed they were that i tried looking for turned out to be bogus after getting a full data sheet from the suppliers. i'm just curious, if there is a real Li-poly battery.
Any updates guys?.
I want a new battery now it last like 15h with 2g and data. Every thing els off... 2ha2h30 screen on.
and at home with wifi on i get lile 20h with 3h screen on....
But its not that bad but i had a samsung befor. And on 3g it lasted the hole day. I wouldent even try that with this one... let 3g on hole day... no wifi. Than inwill need to charge it in the middle of the day....
So the 2430mah gold battery is it any good?. Or should i get 2 , 1600 mah batteries with external charger?.
I could use some good battery life so i can browse the web. Like now i can do much on 2g....
But what i found out is if you put it in flight mode doesnt drop a thing in 1 2 3h even 4h. More. But when celular on its so ****ty....

Amd cool to see some one with the lg o2x in french and angouleme even. On xda. that cool. I dont see a lot of people with this phone in france. See alot of optimus black's. But never a o2x. Specialy here in charente or dordogne
I bought today this battery http://www.ebay.de/itm/PolarCell-Ak...-FL-53HN-Batterie-Battery-Accu-/370585597321? so I will report if it´s better than the stock or not.
Battery usage
Hey there!
Ive tried every Rom on this forum, (almost ) but all gave me the same battery issue. (Only the 20s based roms where pretty Good!) Ive found not any ICS rom compatible with 3G and a good battery life. Tobad, but for me its a fact. The P990 is not designed for using with 3G, just drains the battery in les then 3 ours!
I also tried a lot of baseband and Ril versions, there where a few who does made a difference, but not that big.
Right now I using the 20s baseband. just because of my experience in the past.
For me the big difference is how you configure your processor. Which schedular and which governor. I tried a lot of combination, right now Im using schedular conservative with the ZEN governor, this combination gives me a really good battery usage. (4% drain in 8 ours @1200 Mhz @ night @ wifi )
Ive disabled 3G on my phone, only 2G. tobad, but only way to have a good battery life.
I also tried new batteries, the Big one 3500 Mah, not any improvements, the 1950 andida battery is a good one. but they all are not worth the money compared with the less battery usage improvements,
Hope this helps a little in the search for a bettery battery life with our phone.
Regards,
WyCkson
A chunky one
Hi,
just want to say that I have a good expirience With a PEAK Performance 3300mAh, cost ~ 14€ with cover. Now can I use it ~ 2days.
Sometimes the phones turns into a pocket heater that kills every battery, espesially if there are many apk's installed (around 120 up, TB-List)
I Had this problem with every ROM, and also with Stock battery and a new device.
greets,
Miraculix

even if its a late answer, I bought it on ebay and it is still good.
i'm looking for a better battery
Hello,
I'm looking for a better battery. Someone have test a good battery ? on ebay i'm think is contrefact product...

Normal LG 2X battery life

Have been used LG 2X since the first launch date and it was fine until when the phone getting hot and battery life draining fast quickly. It was about only 4-6 hrs from full charge. I have been checked to see what was running but nothing weird.
Normally how long does the battery run after says 3 years of using it?
Don't know. I can only tell that after changing mine .75 years ago, suddenly battery life improved with a factor 3; now I have +-24 hours.
So, it might be time to buy a new battery - I definitely recommend LG stock battery (low price compared to changing phone).
I've also 3 years old optimus 2x and battery was horrible. It was on 10% after some 6h of usage so I bought from ebay 3 different batteries.
One was from Hong Kong, 3500 mAh and battery dried to 10% in about 2 days. I could finally use my phone without worries but that battery is fat and my phone looked really ugly. Afther that I've bought Onyx battery with 1400 mAh. Battery is real ****. After 4-5h of usage it was completely out and afther that I've found on ebay battery from china with 2450 mAh (I recommend you that one). I can use my phone for abut 8h, also I've found some app on google play that actually improved my battery life so I can use that battery with 2450 mAh one full day without worries. Here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gejos.android.batterysaver I really recommend you this app. First one that really worked for me.
If you've any questions P.M. me. Good luck
Try flashing a lite rom, I suggest tonyp's PA ROM, or install greenify

I'd planning to buy a new battery for my SU 660, so the higher the mAh is the longer the bat life is? Coz mine is 1500mAh

I have had my last phone for nearly 3 years and the battery life is horrible. Why not try a new battery?
Greenify is you friend.
Mates, when I was using cm10, 11, my battery lasted for about 12 hours, but when I downgraded to gb, the battery lasts for more than 2 days, so the os gives many thoughts to consideration.

3500 mah battery 10€ and gives you alot of juice. but the stand by of this phone is bad.. i can beter use it somethings the let is sleep. no wake locks. just bad... my baseband is good normaly. bref i dont mind my phone is fat. it gives me battery i want. so yeah
I've used my O2X for almost 3 years now and original stock battery still gives me 16-24h battery life with normal everyday usage. Well, i have two stock batteries and swap them time by time but still. No fancy battery saving apps, but i turn wi-fi/data off manually quite often.
Heavy usage can hold max 4 hours on one battery (screen on all the time, GPS on, multitasking)
Normal withstand 24 hours.
