Hey guys, this is my first boot animation for the thunderbolt. It is working with currently on Das BAMF 1.3.
The bootanimation is based of of the Naruto Shippuden series and features Kakashi's Mangekyou Sharingan and the Team Mangekyou logo. I am hoping to start developing some more Mods and themes to go along with various ROM's based on this. I hope to have a few others done this week. I will update it when they are done.
**DISCLAIMER**
As like all others I am not responsible if this bricks or hoses your phone. PLEASE PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP PRIOR!!! I will do my best to help if you are having problems
**Requirements and Instructions**
- Rooted Phone
- Root Explorer
- USB Data Cable
- ADB knowledge always a plus
- 15 minutes of time
Instructions
Copy attached zip to desktop
extract the bootanimation.zip and FinalThunder.mp3
Mount SD to computer
Place both files down on root of SD-Card
Mount SD back to phone
***Back Up existing bootanimation.zip and FinalThundermp3***
Using root explorer go into /system/media*
*Now some may not have a custom ROM so it may be in /system/customize/resource, you can do the same thing here, just know i didnt test it here.*
tap the top right of the screen where it says Mount R/W
long press bootanimation.zip and rename to bootanimation.zip.bak
long press FinalThunder.mp3 and rename to FinalThunder.mp3.bak
***Place TeamMangekyou bootanimation.zip and FinalThunder.mp3***
navigate back to main folder and go into /sdcard
tap menu and select Multi-Select
select bootanimation.zip and FinalThunder.mp3 and hit copy
navigate back to /system/media and hit paste
long press on bootanimation.zip and select permissions and have it set to the following if they aren't already (X = check mark filled)
User - X - O - O
Group -X - O - O
Others-X - X - O
Do the same for FinalThunder.mp3 and change to...
User - X - X - O
Group -X - O - O
Others-X - O - O
Reboot phone and enjoy!!!!
If you like the stock OEM thunder sound, by all means keep it there, it will work with the animation.
UPDATED TO VERSION 1.1
PREVIEW THE BOOT ANIMATION HERE!!!!
Had a request for the actual splash screen, attaching here. This will be a permanent change. I suggest using splash flasher to make a backup of your original if you want.
Instructions for uploading
-Place attached file on root of SD Card
-Boot into the Bootloader
-Select fastboot
-Accept changes for image
-Reboot phone and enjoy
Might be easier to use ADB to get to bootloader. thats how i did it, if you need more detailed instructions let me know.

Thats badass(Japanese Shippuuden is the only way to go), cant wait to try it. I hope it will work on Virus's rom. It would be cool to have Itachi's and Sasuke's Mangekyou's(I love the look of Sasuke's) both animated on the screen along with Kakashi's.

I would like that also
Edit: This would be cool imo for the future, not sure if its even possible or feasible.
When the boot is finished loading, have Sasuke's eye come up and use amaterasu(with the soundbite if possible) and have the screen burn with black flames then open to your home screen.

For those who asked, I posted the splash screen of the Multiple Mangekyou's on the second post.
Enjoy!!

Im working on an Amaterasu one now, its done, just need to test it out. I'm making it for a friend for his Droid X and then i may alter it a little.
Once that is done I am going to work on a sage mode/rasen shuriken one i have an idea for and use the sound of the rasen shuriken since there really isnt much sound to sage mode.
STAY TUNED!!

didn't work for me. I'm still kind of new to this so i gave it a try. I was basically stuck at the load up screen. I am currently using cm 4.2.14.1 and still nothing /: it's a shame because it looks like a really nice theme too! has the black bar just like i was looking for the only thing that bothered me was the data symbols and the battery icons. If i was able to edit and sign them, I would. but maybe you should check with other users. maybe they have the same problem as i do
Any chance for a metamoprh of just the battery icon?

I really do not know, that us just how it was in the galaxy s i9000 forums, if you want you can try it without that and reply back if it works or not.
Okay, perhaps a stupid question from someone who hasn't used a gingerbread ROM yet. What the heck are the "rainbows" that we're talking about?
Rainbows is when the screen totally ****s up looks like tv noise and some colors inbetween
has anyone tried this yet?

well i flashed it without using the odin and it booted but everything is loop force closing so i cant do anything
edit: just realized that u forgot to wipe the caches
edit 2:couldnt reboot in to recovery so i just odin'd and am now in the process of flashing. will post in a few minutes the results
EDIT 3: following the OP is the best way to flash this rom. it booted perfectly with the rainbows in about 2 minutes. Swype needs to be changed to a version that works for the vibrant. Haptic Doesn't work on Home button either. the volume doesnt seem to be as loud as it should either
EDIT 4: everything seems to be working so far. im going to see how this rom fares with the EDT OC kernels used for Asgard instead of the Lidroid kernel in the morning

EDT can speak for themselves, but I think their intention is to not be posted for download on XDA. To my understanding they don't care what one individual does with their work to be used strictly on someone's own personal phone mixed with other roms or anything else you want to do on your phone.
But they're clear that they don't want their stuff distributed via others on XDA.
Not trying to troll, just trying to make sure people aren't scared to use in general the good work EDT puts out, although a post already mentions that the kernel they tried from EDT had some compatability issues with this rom.
Re: rainbows. I don't recommend being intimidated to flash a rom because it has rainbows. This is what it means, when it boots up instead of some animations you'll get a static screen that doesn't show any of what should currently be showing on the screen. You don't really need to see the screen while booting anyways so that isn't a big deal.
What you do need to understand is that you wont be able to see recovery mode because you'll just see a rainbow until you hard reboot the phone so that it starts up normal. There are two ways to address the lack of recovery - just don't worry about it and use ODIN when you want to leave this rom, or if you need recovery then use a work around. To work around it either flash a different kernel to access recovery or use something like screencast to see your phone's screen on your computer. You'll have to do some reading before you understand how to do these work arounds but at least they're there.

Use baksmali and smali to decompile it and then do what he says.
I use ubuntu for that
I get the android.policy.jar and open it, then i drag classes.dex to the desktop
I go to terminal, cd /home/coldflid/Desktop (cuz it's there were i have classes.dex and baksmali and smali)
then enter ( i use baksmali/smali 1.2.5, but if you use another version, change the name for the one you use)
java -jar baksmali-1.2.5.jar classes.dex -o androidpolicy
Then a folder called androidpolicy will be created with classes.dex decompiled
Modify any files you need to mod and then in the same terminal
java -jar smali-1.2.5.jar androidpolicy
an out.dex will be created, rename it to classes.dex and drag it onto android.policy.jar, overwrite the old classes.dex
Good luck

haha okay. imma remove any mention of them from the post
I've been running the rom for about 16 hours and have experienced no hiccups. It's really fast and stable. Vlingo works great as well as the sgs2 lockscreen.
there are only 3 bugs in the entire rom. GPS of course, no haptic on home, and the CWM Tweaks app doesn't work. there's no percentage battery mod either.
p.s. for those that care the Quadrant score on 3 consecutive runs were 971, 1016, & 1027.
How the hell did I miss this?
Looks great Ali, gonna try it out when I have the time.

So does this having anything special about it or is just ported from 4.2 cause Google hasn't exactly done any development of Gtalk in quite sometime.
Furthermore we have had this issue before. When you are cross posting someone else's work you need to give them credit where it is due and provide and original thread if possible. Nowhere on this does it say who's work it is. I find that slightly disrespectful.
As stated above, proper credit should be given... I found the quote below over at rootzwiki. After the quote of the OP there I have also submitted the link.
Mod Type:: ApplicationDifficulty:: EasyMod Status:: RC 1Apply In:: CWM RecoveryOptional:: Smali EditsRequires Root:: YesOptional:: ThemedAndroid Version:: 4.2 (JB)Source:: Alright, It's been a while since I've inverted Talk so since I hadn't seen it done for 4.2 yet I figured I'd jump on it.. My Twitter followers tested it all day and the only issue is some devices get an FC on video chat.. N7 I know of but that's the only report. Like all mods I'm not responsible for you device so flash at your own risk.
Install Method:
Download the zip of choice
Move it to a known folder somewhere
Boot into recovery
Flash the zip you chose
Reboot and love it!
Download Links:
1. https://dl.dropbox.c...kedOut.Talk.zip Blacked Out G-Talk 4.2
2. https://dl.dropbox.c....Talk.Final.zip Transparent G-Talk 4.2
I redirected all Manifest theme styles to res/styles and also the smali theme styles are redirected back to in app res/styles instead of android.. This allows themers to have more control over what's going on.. The chat screen background is in colors but the tab behind each message is pointing to android:color/transparent ..
I for one am getting tired of the I DON'T DO IT I ONLY SHARE IT posts with NO link to original creator. You didn't do anything but download someone else's work and put it on Dropbox. Post links and name original creator!! Stop hitting the thanks button people because clearly that is all these posts are for. :banghead: :screwy:

tried it on Note 8 (SM-N950F), working fine
Works well, but I think it's too fast, and of course it would be great if it's edited to match Note8 name and specs.
Thanks for your work
This is great boot animation I wanted, but there is anyway to add a sound of old computer turn on?
I didnt find how to open .qmg for add a sound.
Kinglos and DaTaru, Can one of you please make a virsion with sound? If so I'll send you an audio file for it.
Thanks, and hope you'll willing to do it.

I have created v2 with a slower animation and related specs to Note 8.
Also added shutdown animation and option to have sound while booting

I don't know if it's because I'm using a custom kernel and my rom boots very fast, but now I can't see the full boot animation.

Can you please tell me your kernel and OS?
I have tested this boot animation on so many devices with different ports and fits perfectly
Thank you Kinglos for the new better boot animation. The sound make it more "old school" and its great.
The CRT shutdown animation is one of the best I saw, more than the "regular" CRT animation for screen off animation. I wish I have this CRT animation for screen off.
Thanks for the hours you spent for this new awesome virsion.

This screen animation module is open source, it was run a few years ago on old devices.
gkillershots rebuild it for the new phones.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-screenoffanimation-crt-animation-t3648874
Do you think you can add your CRT off animation to the module?

I'm using Alexndr ROM with horizonOne kernel. I think it boots like 2 sec faster than what it's expected on botanimation

Next time I can try making versions with different speeds, but for that I need a video of your device booting to get the correct time. For now its good to have a fast booting device lol

I'm sorry but I don't have other device to make a video. But my boot time is like 23seconds. The blue led light turns off on the first part.
Thanks again for your work!
