Hi there, i rememeber someone did the rom for Diamond that the end user doesnt need to install any other third party language pack sw, is there any chance to make it for HTC HD?
thanks alot
Just need to download the language cab. As for me to read chinese, i always have sunglobe.cab in my memory card. whenever re-flashing just click on the cab again
hi guys,
searched but all i found was .cab files to install...
does someone have a list of all HTC based software we can use in one place
not just after manila/tf3d...
i'm after the sms/email enhancements etc
and yeah i did download a kitchen with htc software... but the folder names are confusing... not sure if i can cook/compile without help as some things may have requirements/preq.
I'm interested in starting to cook, but as far as I know I need to have a stock ROM. Is this true, and if it is, why cant I cook on already cooked ROMs?
Where do I find stock ROMs? I want a swedish one, any 6.5-version and an english one, 6.5.5.
I have downloaded a swedish stock ROM from htc.com but that one is a .exe and I assume I need .nbh. Can I convert it?

You don't have to have a stock ROM but in some cases, it does help make it easier if you have one for your device.
You can open the .exe file with winrar and extract the files. The .nbh file should be in there.
Also, one of the new Kitchens I think will open up the .exe file and extract what it needs. Look through this Kitchen thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948

I'm using that kitchen and when I try to open the few cooked ROMs I already have I get this message: "Can't extract files or build packages from IMGFS structure. Please make sure the ROM is not corrupted and that it's an original ROM update released by the manufacturer."
WinRAR worked. Thanks. Now I need to find an english 6.5.5 whick can be opened in osKitchen.
You will not be able to dump most cooked ROM because of the way that the Kitchen put them together originally.
You should be able to download a source from the first post of that thread, and they have some updated system packages as well like 23541. You can also find the EXT packages there as well.
Found it now, thanks
Ok, I dont know if this cooking stuff really is for me. I dont understand what I'm doing. I managed to strip all HTC stuff from the stock ROM (a bit too much, a few things doesnt work) but that's pretty much it.
Maybe I'm trying to do stuff that cant be done.
My main goal is to get a clean WM 6.5.3/6.5.5 swedish ROM.
Should I get an english 6.5.3/6.5.5 ROM and change the language to swedish or get a swedish 6.5 ROM and upgrade it to 6.5.3/6.5.5 or do I have to find a swedish ROM which already is 6.5.3/6.5.5?

After you have dumped the Stock, you have the drivers, then go to the link and download a build, copy this into the folder sources, so OEM into OEM, sys into sys ETC... then launch the kitchen, select build and language. DO NOT DISABLE ANYTHING IN OEM AND BE CAREFUL WITH SYS!!! disable everything in EXT and you have a clean ROM
It worked! Not a very good ROM yet, but it starts at least
I've tried to change the welcome screen in the tweak settings but I cant see any difference. Where is that supposed to show?
And what is the difference between splash screen and welcome screen?
I have decided rather than keeping two threads open for the same build, I am going to concentrate on my thread in the HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development thred which is here: The direct link thread is here:
Change Logs

To be or not to be
Nice work. I am totally novice in this addiction of being a ROM chef. I have tried many custom ROMs but I am not totally satisfied. To cook a Spanish version of a ROM for a US T-mobile, which base ROM do you recommend? Thanks.

I would downlaod a standard spanish rom from the HTC site and create a new oskitchen, then import the rom. Once you have done that copy accross the nk.exe from my kitchen, that should then make it tmous compatable.
You could then copy accross all my customisations accross on to your kitchen and start from there! If you copy sense accross remember to remove it from the HTC leo packages folder!
re
hello GhostXSeries
which pack in the kitchen is responsible for the in Rome under SETTINGS -> TEXT LOCAL for local en-gb stands. I want to change the en-us. but I do not know where that is stored?
thank you

Thanks for your advise. Well, I will tell you what I have done:
Kitchen downloaded... easy
Spanish standard ROM downloaded (hard to find but finally done)
Create a new oskitchen (that means to open osKitchen and press the "new project" button, doesn't it?)
Import the ROM (the programs asks me always if I want to create a new folder, default_2 for example. What should I choose?)
Trying to make compatible with TMoUS... I can't find the NK.EXE application. Could you help me?
Finally, what does "copy across" mean? I suppose to use the applications that are included in your kitchen.
Thanks for your patience and your work. We all appreciate it.

Easiest way to do it, is to create a new folder and from my oskitchen copy accross oskitchen.exe and resources folder. Then open kitchen and import your rom.
Next go to oskitchen\sources\devices\htc leo\profiles\default\
delete folder nk.exe and copy the one from my kitchen into yours. This will make it tmous compatable.
Finally copy all the extra packages I created in to your kitchen and you should then be able to start building your own rom good luck man!

Are you talking about changing the default location from en-gb to en-us?

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI\CurLang and change the value 409 to 408 (Hex) (for example Greek) or try another value for your language. You can find all Windows Locale Codes here: http://www.science.co.il/Language/Locale-Codes.asp

Hi,
i want to create ROM with support of dutch language on Desire C.
Now device has unlocked bootloader and Clockworkmod touch recovery. of course device has S-ON and has CID HTC__032
i've flashed nameless rom - no success (no dutch language)
slim sense v1 is not working too.. i cannot install this rom thru custom recovery - it always gives error like bad file (checked md5 sum and is correct).
i'm thinking about it for few days and i got an idea:
- when i'm getting info custom rom directories i can see this \system\customize\CID and here are .xml files. in HTC__032.xml file i can see that there is no NL language support. is there any possibility to change this ? maybe add few lines of xml code ? will it work ? maybe better option will be change name of HTC__032.xml file to HTC__E11.xml (where is dutch language) file ?
- i've found on internet that tmobile NL is selling desire c, so i figured that they have dutch language inside. i'm searching for RUU from this network, but no success i was thinking to make from stock rom a custom rom and flash it as .zip update thru clockwork recovery
i don't know few things:
- is custom rom checking CID ?
- how can i cook rom with little change (of .xml files in \system\customize\CID folder) ? i found dsixda kitchen, but i'm not sure about well working with ROMs for Desire C.
Please help me with this problem
Thanks!
In adding a language to rom you have to decompile all system/apps apks and add xml languages in it, but it must come from rom that have those language in the apps, also xml in cid and mns which needs a lot of time to do it.

I agree, but let's look on this case:
If inside Rom is htc__e11.xml file and when my cid of my phone is also this one, then when after installation of Rom on phone I should have languages mentioned in .xml file. Am I right?
