Hi Everyone,
Kies has updated my I9000 SGS to froyo from éclair and since then I haven’t had any access to either 2g/3G networks (except for a precious couple of hours). I bought the phone in the Netherlands and I am using it in Brazil, but this had not been an issue until the firmware update.
I have already hard-reset my SGS a few times , tried several froyo distributions and used several CSC with no avail.
Currently, my firmware is:
PDA: iI9000XXJPU
Phone: I9000XXJPU
CSC: I9000OXAJPU
Kernel:2.6.32.9 root sep-55 # 11
I’ve got signal (about -111dBm 1 asu), the phone has an imei, and it recognizes my SIM card, but as I said, it has no network connection.
After checking debug screen, I’ve also noticed the following info:
- Basic Information: No Service
- MM sate: NO_CELL
- CONN_STATE:Idle.
Anyone out there could help me out with this problem? I’ve really run out of ideas. Let me know if you people need more info on the current status of my SGS.
Cheers.
You probably need to enter the apn settings for your carrier
It has updated to Netherlands firmware modem and CSC they work in Brazil ??

I've tried several times, with different carriers (meaning different SIM cards). It hasn't worked.
Any other idea?

As I mentioned, the phone was working perfectly fine under Eclair. Moreover, oddly enought, my wife's, who owns a UK orange SCS, is working perfectly over here under froyo.
I am afraid of bricking my SGS by trying my wife's SGS firmaware on mine, since is Orange specific. Does anyone see any problem with that?
Probably Ok with orange . But is their not a Brazil thread on here that may have more clues .

Hi,
I've recently moved from Australia to the USA (with an AT&T sim) and would like to upgrade to 2.2. Kies still does not have an image available so I'm looking to flash it myself but not sure which ROM file to use.
The phone is unlocked and unbranded. The version details are:
PDA: I9000DTJG4
PHONE: I9000DTJG3
CSC: I9000XSAJG2
I've been reading about the I9000UGJK3 image but I believe that installs the Bell branding on the phone, which I'd like to try avoid.
Which image should I be using?
Thanks
Ivan

if the KIES comes back with no results for Froyo, then that means it has not been released yet for Australia region, and you will have to pick from any of the other flavours available
or stay in 2.1
Thanks for the quick reply.
According to regedit I have a GT-I9000HKAXSA. This doesn't seem to be listed as a "known" product code just yet. Which might explain why Kies doesn't have an update for it yet.
I guess what I'm trying to determine is a) can any image be placed on any phone? b) if yes, then what would be the best image if I wanted to flash my phone and have it work in the USA on AT&T (I'm trying to make sure that my correct 2/3G bands are still going to work post flash)
Dude, I did this tonight and it worked
http://webtrickz.com/how-to-update-...oid-2-2-froyo-via-kies-anywhere-in-the-world/
And I'm in Australia on the optus network
I just couldn't believe the lag and I didn't want to root my phone just yet
I also couldn't believe that Vodafone got froyo straight out of the box!
when it says "refresh" after you've done the regedit bit it means hit your home button. worked straight away
Vodafone straight out of the box?!? Where did you hear that? Not true I'm with vodafone australia and we got eclair, I did the reg edit to get XXJPO like you

Thanks Guys, I managed to sort this by using Odin and putting I9000XWJPA on it. Almost bricked the thing b/c I didn't read all the documentation completely!
Seems to be working like a charm at the moment.
Hi guys
Yesterday I was able to flash SentinelROM successfully
I was very happy until when I went out and disconnected from my wifi, I realized that there was no internet connection
Tried to restore APN settings to default, but to no avail
Took out the simcard and put into my iphone, data was fine
So I reflash stock ROM, data worked
Reflash Sentinel, data didn't work
Flashed CM10.1, data also didn't work, although APN settings have been restored to default
Phone and sms worked though..
So now I'm stuck with stock
Could anybody please help?
Just so you know, I'm on O2 UK
Many thanks

I did some reading
The stock firmware which I'm using on my phone has these details (it's Germany - DBT):
PDA: I9305XXBME3
CSC: I9305DBTBMF1
MODEM: I9305XXBME1
which is the same as describe in sammobile.com (the latest)
As I'm in UK and using O2, according to sammobile.com, the details for the latest firmware (O2U):
PDA: I9305XXBMA3
CSC: I9305O2UBMA1
MODEM: I9305XXBLL5
Should I just flash the modem XXBLL5 onto my phone?
Or should I flash I9305XXBMA3_I9305O2UBMA1_O2U.zip stock firmware?
Please advise
Try these
CSC: I9305O2UBMA1
MODEM: I9305XXBLL5

I'll try that and we'll see :good:
I have downloaded the modem file, i.e. XXBLL5.zip, but I can't find that specific CSC file for I9305 although I've done a lot of research..
So I flashed anyway the I9305XXBMA3_I9305O2UBMA1_O2U.zip stock firmware, but no internet at all although with this stock ROM..so I imagine it won't work on Sentinel as well..
I have a similar issue but nothing apart from flashing CM10.1 works
So far tried about 6 different ROMs, all built for i9305 and ALL have no data connection but wifi works faultless. Reflash CM10.1 and I get my data connection back. Which is a pain as I really liked Pandorium with Perseus kernel and JKay framework so I can tweak away
Did a factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik between all flashing. All ROMs install and run perfectly on wifi, just no data connection. Reflash CM10.1 ...... again. And all my problems go away. On T-Mobile/EE/Orange in UK
It appears, after much reading, it could be linked to an incorrect CSC (Country Code). So you might have to flash the CSC code for your specific Country AND mobile carrier
No data connection error is due to the modem is set-up for a different country and mobile carrier, so obviously it can't connect to what it can't find .....
Now I'm just trying to get my head around CSC flashing and tracking down methods that don't NEED a Samsung firmware
CSC is the customer setup configuration .
Network settings for different networks .
See the CSC post .
jje
I just don't understand..why does it work with stock ROM..but not with Sentinel and CM10.1?
I mean..we do not change the CSC and modem after flashing those custom ROMs, do we?
There are lists of modems and CSCs here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26530885#post26530885
I am eager to test them, but I fear those CSCs and modems are for I9300, which would brick my I9305. Please advise

I have done the following:
1. changed CSC to BTU and modem to XXBLL5 - mobile internet worked with stock ROM, but didn't work with Sentinel ROM
2. changed CSC to O2U and modem to XXBLL5 - mobile internet worked with stock ROM, but didn't work with Sentinel ROM
FYI, I'm on O2 UK (pay monthly/post pay),
~ edit APN and/or reset APN to default settings - nothing happened - mobile internet didn't work on both CSC and modem configs
HOWEVER, when I inserted an O2 prepaid/pay as you go sim card,
~ reset APN to default settings - mobile internet worked!!
Reinsert the O2 pay monthly sim, internet won't work ~ reset APN - still didn't want to work..
What more can I do...
I've tried all possible modems...none of them worked..

Yup..
I've tried 3 different AOSP ROMs...the internet just didn't wanna work..
For now I have to settle with stock based ROMs..
I couldn´t get mobile data connection in my i9300 with this rom. I tried a new APN profile with the appropiate settings and information and my mobile data began working. Hope it helps.
I bought the a samsung GT-I9000 off ebay, it was locked to vodafone and running standard OS.
Despite soft bricking it I did a factory restore, rooted and flashed it with cyanogenmod 10.1.
Everything is working, except I cannot to any mobile network. When I try to connect it says "cannot connect at this time, try again later" or it encountered "an error". It takes ages doing this as well.
The APN settings are all there and correct as I can compare them to my rooted HTC which works fine on the same ROM.
The IMEI number is given by *#06# and this is also given in the phone information. The same IMEI is on the back of the phone under the battery as well.
If I leave the phone on, it gives Orange (EE ) as the network but says emergency only i.e no service.
I rang Orange and they said there is no problem , which I suspected, as my HTC work fine. Orange also said there is no problem with the phone relating to IMEI - its not stolen.
Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance

Hi again
Two questions: is the phone unlocked now? Did you have the connection with this same SIM card by using previously flashed ROM?
If both answers "yes", your presently installed baseband is probably not compatible with the region where you live. Google after the regional codes (letters in your baseband version) and find the right one for your region. Here are all flashable baseband versions for the CyanogenMod:

I won't have internet next few days, but you may make it now alone.... good luck, mate

I upgraded to stable 10.1.3 last night, simply thinking what do I have to lose? and it worked for a bit then stopped.
Whats stranger is it started working when I got to work - it doesnt recognise EE which is the company who bought Orange/T-Mobile but it connects to Orange or T-Mobile and works as Orange......
It connected to providers last night but never for more than a few seconds and then stopped.
I have called and texted from it and all now seems fine!

The phone lost signal when I got home - ultimately solved it by flashing it with modem XXJVP and updated APN to those given for EE, not Orange.

Hi,
Info
I have a GT-I9305, Android 4.3, SentinelROM Version 5.00 with Build date of Oct 1st 2013.
Kernel 3.0.64-CM-gbc8f4c9, [email protected] #1 and
Baseband Version : I9305DXALI7
Background :
My Samsung S3 LTE was initially locked to Orange/EE, which I did a network unlock by downgrading to 4.1.1 and using that famous menu command *#19...Subsequently I upgraded to Android 4.3
Issue
I am using Virgin Network here in UK, but the phone always shows Orange/T-Mobile signal. Also, it stops sending SMS messages after a few days. If I put the SIM Card back in Nexus 4, it correctly shows Virgin Network on the phone. (I am aware that Virgin is a virtual network provider using Orange/T-Mobile).
Question
Is there a way I can show Virgin network on the phone? Currently it doesn't even detect Virgin network, if I do a search available networks. Is that due to an incorrect Baseband Version? If yes, could someone point me to the correct one? I did search on http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ but they all seemed to be for Android 4.1.1 and not 4.3 for I9305
I have tried flashing a few other basebands as well from this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010116
But still not able to get Virgin network. Phone does seem to be working fine but I dont want to get suddenly caught out again whereby it stops sending SMS's again!
Thanks
Sam
You require a CSC that includes Virgin .
Try CPW carphone warehouse csc .
Or ask Virgin for the APN settup .
Android 4.3 is not released by Samsung so you will not find it .

Hi JJEgan,
I am going to use the CSC Changer App, currently taking a backup of the phone. Is there anyway to quickly check the current CSC? (by checking some file in system directory etc or viewing build.prop etc to figure out the current CSC?) Asking this as USSD Codes don't seem to be running on my phone and I always get Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code error message. So that means I am unable to run *#1234#
Cheers!
PS : Just tried to use CSC Changer App, but realized that either the phone should be on Android version lower than 4.2.2 or the ROM should be a Samsung Stock ROM! And in my case I am on a Custom ROM and on Android 4.3
http://ykkfive.blogspot.com/2011/11/samsung-csc-code-reference-3.html#.UmV5lPnBPeM
Got the list of CSC's above..What should I do next? And against UK is mentioned as : BTC, BTU, CPW, H3G, O2I, O2U, ORA, OXA*, TMU, TSC, VIR, VOD, XEU
So CarPhoneWarehouse is there in the above list and VIR (I assume VIR means Virgin Mobile) is also there..So how do I flash or what do I flash now?

Thanks JJEgan, I did look at the thread you mentioned and that's where I got the CSC Changer idea..but stayed back from actually doing it as I realized that the 2nd step mentioned about factory resetting the phone..The issue that I have currently is that to find out about my current CSC etc, I need to run a USSD Code which gives me an error message (about invalid MMI Code). So I would either probably leave it at that or better still get a new Orange contract SIM and port the number back from Virgin to Orange!
Hello,
I am new to mess around with mobile phones and Android and (therefore) also managed to bring my girlfriend's GT-I8190 phone to a non-working state. Although there are lots of information in this forum I am more confused than sure what to do. I hope to get here some help / information / explanation.
Past
The phone was bought in Germany and had probably a German firmware. But I do not know, since no connections to Kies or whatsoever and no backups where done earlier. After a error of Android (e:\ failed to mount or something similar) which blocked the phone on the startup logo of the non-modyfied S3 mini, my guess for a quick solution was to flash the firmware with Odin to a new(er) German version. I downloaded (from a German forum) and flashed successfully several versions (supposedly OXA). But with all version the network connection hasn't practically worked. Only very weak and only at a few locations. Once I used in desperation also a so called stock-recovery from somewhere.
Present
I visited a shop where the uber-friendly Samsung service overwrote the firmware first with the general and later with the LaFleur version (PDA: XXAMG4, CSC: QXXA MH1). Kies tells me the CSC is somehow a VE1 version (what country is that code for - moon?). But the problem hasn't changed.
I still have the original IMEI, but I'm missing the baseband and, what worries me more: no product code. I managed to read it out only with "CheckFus" which says only: Not Active1
Future ?
Since I probably haven't used the right firmware at least once, I am hesitating to do more. My ideas are as following: modem, firmware, baseband.
What is the best way to proceed? Is there still a easy solution? I don't mind to change to another version - no stock firmware is required. Am I close to have a 4" tablet?
Any answer is appreciated - thanks!

I8190XXAMG4 / QXXAMH1 is a German La Fleur firmware. I have no idea why your CSC seems to be messed up. It should probably be DBT.
What does it say if you dial *#1234# in dialer?
Thanks for the infos so far.
I did not intend to link to the LaFleur version in the first post.
Do I need the root recovery for the baseband update?
With the 1234 code I get:
AP: I8190 XXAMG4
CP: XXXX
CSC: I8190 QXXAMH1
I think this is the same as mentioned before. I checked the origin of the files I used before on this mobile and it is possible that I used this a recovery file which may be for a 8190N (I cannot post the outside link yet). I did not read careful enough the thread linking to this file.
Can this be the origin for the messed CSC version and the missing product code?
Looks like you're without baseband.
Take a look at this thread and flash a modem for i8190.

Hello again,
firstly: Problem is solved - phone works properly. Thanks for the replies and to tys0n for the work with the files and the support - acutally doing the job of Samsung and google.
For the sake of completeness, I will tell what I did, if any unexperienced user (as I still am) will ever come across this thread:
I tried first just the standard firmware AMG4 from Sammobile (which is linked above) and afterwards the baseband files - but both did not help as expected.
I installed CWM and used the file from here and miraculously it was working (The phone is used only in 2G). Later I wiped the data and flashed again with the AMG4 firmware to have a clean version now.
AP, CP, CSC say all XXAMG4 now, Kies recognizes it as DBT (as supposed to). But the product code, which came back and was read out with CheckFus, says I8490 RWA XSE. This should be Indonesia, correct? Is there still an inconsistency somewhere?
Thanks again for the help
