Help with Dropbox?

Anyone not using dropbox? Ive been using it for a while and just wanted to remind newbs of it. go to https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTYwNzM2ODk and sign up, install the software, and you haev the easiest wireless way to share files back and forth between your phone and your desktop. Great Backup Solution. Help me out by signing up from the link above, and we both get extra space in the dropbox for doing so!

True, I mean when not at home. Its very helpful, especially for sending large things like videos. I have collaboration folders setup with my wife, and brother, and I can just drop the files in there, and then they get them too. Great way to share big stuff.

Dropbox is great but make sure you keep a separate backup. DB literally ate the English Essay I had worked on for days. Here's what happened: I typed up the rough draft on my PC at home. I then went to the writing lab at school and downloaded it to my phone. I plugged my phone into the tutor's PC and we revised it together and printed it out. I submitted it to my professor and a couple days later she e-mailed me saying she wanted me to make some changes. I went back to Dropbox on my PC to open the file and got the rough draft again. Downloaded again, same thing. I went on my phone and found out that it too had the rough draft. Somehow when I uploaded the final draft it did not actually upload so I wound up having to rewrite it again (as best as I could from memory).
Moral of the story: When you make changes to a file, make sure you back it up elsewhere!

You do know that drophox supports versioning right? You can go the website and see the last several save states. So if your more fully written essay was overwritten, so long as it was saved at some point, you can still retrieve it from the website.

Same here. I'm not that shameless myself; mine is cleverly hidden in my sig.

Haha I added it to my Sig too. Just running out of room and hoping to get some more space in a hurry
As a side note, how do I make a url in my Sig clickable?

This thread should be deleted since it's not anything for help with Dropbox but rather a plug to get more space... shame shame OP..

Firstly, I advise against adding a "dropbox" link to your sig ... unless of course, you feel it necessary to have your account suspended.
The purpose of services such as dropbox, rapidshare, megaupload, 4shared, etc. is to provide a space for folks to download/upload content that can be legitimately used on a mobile device. In other words, shameless promotion to bump space or increase points is not appropriate.

g'day all.
I'm currently writing a quick tip calculator for WP7, i know there are billions of them but there arent many free apps on wp7 yet with everyone trying to make some money and i wanted to release something quick, easy and free just to check out how much hassle the approval process is and see how long it takes MS to get something out once submitted
I wanted to keep it in styling with WP7 as much as possible, let me know what you think

**UPDATE**
Evening guys, finally getting off my lazy ass and submitting this ( year 5 months later and yes I'm aware no one cares about tip calculators ) but I just wanted to give it out here first see if anyone wants to give it a go and make any suggestions and whats broken or what would be better. I designed it because tip apps are everywhere but they always look like ass. Whilst they are always going to be rubbish , you might aswell have one which fits the WP7 metro theme... and the name tip metro, I'd like it changes, so suggestions please !

This is a great design. A very unique take on the function. Great work!

Thanks for the kind words.
The image was just found on google when searching for windows 7 phone. its just the stock one also use in the emulator. Then added my app front end image and then skewed at an angle.

Looks really nice and refreshing from some of the apps that don't look like they belong in the metro UI. Good Job!

Sorry for the delayed response.
I intend to have this fully released on the marketplace ( for free ) soon.
If it takes too long to go through approval ill host the .xap and distribute it here for you and anyone else who wants it

I've been a busy coder on this one.
Recently i've added the following features:
Ability to import exercises from previously entered routines
and just now The Ability to share your workout (export) via email!
Currently the app in the market is version 1.5.0.0 and works really well, it however doesn't have the last two additions.
Build 1.7.00 will include both of these. I am currently waiting for build 1.6.00 to be approved (that includes the import exercises from previous exercise) feature and unfortunately for the testers will be immediately submitting 1.7.00 for approval.
The app is free, check it out and give a review.

Possible Suggestion: With exporting the workouts, is it possible to save to SkyDrive? They have some new APIs, so it would be nice if the files can be saved and retrieved from Skydrive account.

Wow, im surprised this is still getting interest. Unfortunately i abandoned this project a while ago due to poor code design by me. ( learned much since then ) I no longer have the source code but if the interest is there i could possibly re-write this app with some mango features and possibly skydrive support. a brief tutorial on the basics would be awesome and most appreciated. i didn't know i had to long-press to upvote, for example.

This is a really cool app! Only thing I would like to see is working video and zooming of images without jumping to browser.
Aside from that, my productivity has now gone down significantly while away from my desk. So I suppose you could call this a ... success?

Glad you like it! I'm not sure if I can do anything about videos not loading (I think thats just a limitation of not being directly in-browser), but I'm investigating not being able to zoom images and will aim to get it fixed!

I'm ok with not being able to view video's (I just click open in browser and then choose Youtube for the youtube links). However whenever I do that and come back to Reddita the right pane still shows the non-working youtube video, but the left pane loses my place with the links. So I have to scroll all the way back down to wherever I was (sometimes I don't remember how far I was down). Is there a way to come back to Reddita exactly like I left it?

And when you create you're character you're given a nice description now too and older players will appreciate that you can name your character from the start.

Alot apparently I haven't played this one too much.

I like it so far, more refined then the first one. My biggest b!tch with it though is if your Xoom is wiped you lose all progress, with a game like this you think they would have some kind of cloud storage, also since you can buy in game points with real money, feels like a waste to invest so much time and have a woopsy moment and not be able to recover anything.
I love the online play with this though, seems a lot better than First Wave.

My game wasn't wiped. I forgot that I had the chars i had after i loaded it. All my mana was still there as well.

i tried to install this game, but i says "motorola MZ601 not supported" ?? anyone facing the same problem ?

here is the screen capture from web market.. its kinda strange, as its support galaxy s and my older device like Nexus one, but not support Xoom (using tiamat 2.2.2 moray)

Well because it is free I believe I'm allowed to suggest that you search for the apk as a simple solution.
