cyanogen rc4 back to stock gingerbread - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I am a google nexus one noob. I have rooted and unlocked the bootloader of my nexus one. It is currently running Cyanogen Rc4. I want to revert back to stock gingerbread 2.3.3 for reason. Please tell me the procedure of what files and programs i need to download to revert back to stock gingerbread. Currently i have no android sdk or any other android program on my computer. Please help Thanks

Depends on if you want to keep all your app data and settings, in which case, you'll want a rooted stock ROM.
If you don't care about your apps and settings, just follow the unroot/restore guide in the wiki.

Why not try this one
Modified GRI40 (2.3.3 Gingerbread) ROM*
Rooted, De-odexed, Busybox, Apps2SD, Cache2SD, ZipAligned, Disabled Stock Recovery
which can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968396
I'm waiting for CM final, so I'm giving this a spin. Liking it so far.

I don't want to keep any info. Can you link me to a page to restore my phone back to stock

Unroot/restore, use passimg method with FRG33 image...

How to flash back to stock from 2.3?

I would like to know this as well!
read ANY instruction on flashing gingerbread
EVERY SINGLE ONE tells the SAME WAY to get back to Stock!
for the canadian, read my stock rom link in my sig.
it uses the SAME method to return to stock bootloaders but then flashing the rogers rom on top. READ INSTRUCTIONS!!!!
but GINGERBREAD bootloaders work fine with ANY stock rom,
there is no reason to flash stock bootloaders, only the stock rom if possible. and it is possible.
its all in the instructions.
Wasn't sure about how bootloaders would work for stock. Thanks.

[Q] CyanogenMod7 installation over Cognition 5 v2

Hi,
I currently have my phone running Cognition 5 v2 ROM. I wanted to try out CyanogenMod 7, which I understand is 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 based, just like Cognition 5.
What's confussing me is that the installation instructions of CM7 are asking the installation to be from Froyo/Eclear Bootloaders, while for Cognition I had to install GB bootloaders.
Why is that?
Finally, can someone point me to a post that helps me revert the bootloader and ROM to stock?
Regards,
Mauricio
The OP for CyanogenMOD hasn't been updated. You can install cm7 with the gingerbread bootloaders now and will work with no issues. You may have to download the cm7 from the link rather than Rom manager, though I am not positive on that as I don't remember how I downloaded it. Move the cm7 zip onto your sdcard along with the GAPPS zip. Reboot into recovery and manually flash them both. If you have an issue go back out to recovery and flash it again and it should work with no issues.
I THINK the issue with going from DGs ginergerbread is that it uses a different version of clockworkmod recovery or at least that is how it seemed when I did it. This is how I did it from Cog5 gingerbread. Then I decided to try biffmod. (This is my secondary captivate, backup). Good luck.

Yeah I would Odin back to 2.2 (the one without bootloaders), then go go cm7. The i897 bootloaders work fine with cm7.

The bootloaders on stock Gingerbread ROMs are already unlocked, to the best of my knowledge. If you're still on Froyo, just find a region-appropriate stock GB ROM on SamFirmware.com.

[Q] How to return back to Android 1.0?

Hello, my friend give me an HTC Dream G1 "TIM" (it's italian) with a custom rom with Android 2.2 Froyo and CWM recovery. It's possible to return back to Android 1.0 stock rom? There is a guide? Thanks in advance!
Did he manage to make a nandroid backup of the ROM? If so just restore in recovery after a clean wipe
If not than you would have to start fresh by flashing the dreaming.nbh
