if its an official ROM, you should be able to update it, yes.

I downloaded a version and I couldn't update from the update service because it says that the rom that is installed is custom... With a little search I found a guide of re branding an X10... Why to re brand a phone?

check me up on this, but the reason your ROM did not undergo its official update is probably because you have your hard SPL still installed? try re-installing your stock SPL and see if the update works. i have attached a thread with a video guide on how to go about it. numbers 4 and 5 should apply to you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497511
alternately, what you can do to avoid the SE update all together would be to install the R3A/B firmware. that is the firmware that the update provides, from an R2A/R1A. so installing an R3x firmware should be as good as the SE official update. you can get the R3x/R2x/R1x ROMs from this thread. my advice, go for the R3x ROM, so you dont have to waste time with the Sony Ericsson update.

Your xperia1 is made by htc.
okay, so i've tryed to update my windows, using SE Updater, and i COULDN'T... it says something "manipulated software" and i can't go on? please help... how to update??
You won't be able to update using the SEUpdate software if you have a custom ROM flashed - you need a stock ROM.
You can obtain a stock ROM from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
You may as well choose the latest firmware (R3A) and flash that. After that there's no point trying to update through SEUpdate as there isn't a newer firmware.
i am really a beginner, so i am affraid of screwing up my phone and i don't know ho to obtain stock rom ... and tell me, if a update to official version, do i still have the htc sense? i mean, the slider at the bottom, "home, videos, wheter..." ? thank you

no you won't. you'll get the crappy WinMo today screen.
you can always use the SE home panels or Touch Flo 3D if you choose to go stock

Looking for stock ROM

Hey guys,
my HD7 seems to have some hardware problems (random rebooting etc). So I decided to send it in for repair. Since I'm currently running the leaked HTC Mango ROM (7720.68) I need to roll back to a stock NoDo ROM. Now there are so many ROMs floating around these forums nowadays, that I have no idea which would be the on to choose for my device:
HTC HD7, Germany, unbranded, not SIM locked.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
you can go here and select the suitable ROM for your device,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD7/Shipped_Roms
but be careful because you may brik your phone if you flash a wrong ROM
I think you should flash the last ROM which is the only one in the Mango Section

Thank you very much. I think I'll go with the first European ROM and apply all available updates afterwards. That should be sufficient enough to look like stock.

It is OK, as you like,
But keep in your mind that the Mango ROM is official leaked one and is stock,
My suggestion is to go with it if you don't care about chevron unlocking your device.

I have a developer account, so I don't need Chevron to unlock my device. The thing is, I need to send my device in for repair, so anything Mango like wouldn't be considered to be stock as the update actually hasn't been delivered yet.

[Q] Flash Stock rom for Update?

Hi Guys,
I have a question, since the update for ICS will come out soon.
I have Marvel flahed on my P970, when the official update is released and i want to flash the stock ics from lg, what should i do?
Can i just upddate using LGMobile Support Tool, since Marvel is based on the stock V20?
Thanks if someone can help me.
Best Regards,
Felipe
As Marvel is rooted, maybe not able to update to stock.
Why to take risk, just install stock firmware, it takes just 5 mins..

You mean install the GB firmware and then update, or install the ics firmware when its releases?

whatever it would be, we have to wait for official release, then installing is 5-minutes matter.
ok try to update to ICS from Marvel. If you succeed, share your process here, other people would benefit with easy process of updating to ICS

the safe way is : flash stock rom V20.x with SmartFlash and upgrade when ICS will be avaible for P970.

It doesnt work, the devices isnt supported according to the app.
towelroot worked on 4.3, so maybe it's only not supported on the paper?

If you have root they are in /cache/fota_dn and will be a long string of numbers/letters.

The phone state is "changed / own" its not official anymore but still same thing no root no custom recovery.
I do not have 4.4,2 installed but that post says that the root supports 4.4.2 on i9506

I can confirm that none of the earlier root methods work.
The thread about rooting and installing custom recovery is probably for older version of 4.4.2.
flashing custom recovery works.
I used the following recovery version, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2757538
Unticked reboot, and after flash was done i forced it to recovery and after that i flashed root
root
I installed the clockwork recovery from 4.3 and then flash the supersu.zip. works perfect.
I use the normal org. Samsung Rom

Need help with removing custom rom

Hey guys,
I have an xperia Z
Model number: c6603
Android version: 4.3
Build number:10.4.1.B.0.109
I let my friend install a custom rom on phone and I do not want it anymore and want my stock firmware back so i can install official updates. I have little to no knowledge on android rooting and flashing roms, i tried searching on the forums but i just couldn't find the answer so i had to make this thread.
I do not have much idea about the rom installed too apart from that its called eXistenZ rom and the OTA updater app says
ROM version 7.0.0
OTA Updater ID: xzexistenzultra
that's pretty much all the info i can think of that i can tell you. If anything else is required let me know, i'll find it and let you know. Please guys, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Nope, trust me. I bricked it a lot of times and Pc companion fixed it. Just click Repair my phone, follow instructions, wait for the long download and it will do a clean install of the latest sony firmware.

Also existenz roms do a lot of stuff while maintaining the Sony aspect. Yet it can be quite unstable. I had my fair share of issues.
So restore your phone, Root it, DO NOT UNLOCK BOOTLOADER (unless you make a backup first), install Xposed framework + desired modules and you'll have most of the tweaks found in curent flagships .
