the thread name already says it.. I'm currently on cm7 and I am not able to turn off the screen while playing youtube videos (just want to listen to some music). the video/sound stops instantly. Is there any option to prevent the player from stopping the playback?!

- the inbuild youtube from my new energy ROM, the search button isn't working
- the latest official google youtube, it's laggy and no videos in HQ
- WHC youtube, didn't find the start file
- coreplayer v.1.3.6 #7427, the videos do not start

Are you positive because I just did a search from the youtube app, using the ROM in my sig/signature. Course, I have a different device but I am posting in the RAPH/TP section. You'd be the first to post about it here...
the youtube app from energy ROM (made by HTC?!) is great, but the four big buttons don't work for me - but i can take settings, watch most viewed and filtering works also.

Lolz... the reason I mention that you'd be the first is because usually if theres a device issue, it is posted in that specific device's forum OR if you believe this is a ROM issue, there isn't anywhere here to post it because if you flash A RAPH ROM to a DIAM, you'll be lucky to get it to running!
Basically, try a re-flash(I wouldn't suggest flashing a RAPH ROM by that mater) or you could wait for others to respond
i downloaded the netflix app and it worked for a day now it crashes. I also want to know how to get full scren hdmi.

Hello. I was wondering if theres a modded Youtube.apk (for ICS) that allows you to turn-off the screen while watching a video, without stopping the playback. I remember that you could do that at earlier builds of youtube, but they changed their policy, because youtube was meant for 'videos'... Also, I thought of another thing that could be cool-playing youtube videos at backround (for example, starting a music video playback on youtube, and pressing the home button without it stopping it).

I also can't seem to find one. Only thing I know is that the youtube apk 2.1.6 works like that, but it won't work with ICS...

Would be great if someone could create this kind of module. To specify I am talking about the S5 music player. But I think it is a global 4.4 feature and only third party music players can deactivate it.

Now what I am posting today is NOT THE EFFICIENT way of playing YouTube songs or videos in the background but it is effective. This will shouw that youtube background playback is poasible. I hope someone can understand thh logic and convert this into an application or an xposed module at some point.
Step 1 - ask a friend to call you in a while, say 30 seconds
Step 2 - meanwhile open a YouTube video so that when your friend calls you YouTube automatically pauses it for you
Step 3- take the call and press home button in between the call and then just disconnect it
Your videos should continue playing in the background
Again, I am not saying this is a trick or sth. I am just sharing so that someone can use this and actually make it a trick to play YouTube videos in the background.
PS-the currentxposed module doesn't work for me
PS2- I am facing a problem with my phone, for which I posted in the nexus 5 troubleshooting group but no reply as of yet. Could you please give it a look and help me out there. Here's the link

Current YouTube Background Playback doesn't work because it hasn't been updated to work with the current YouTube, yet... You can simply downgrade your YouTube using XInstaller or Uninstall then Install an older version.
