So I tried the new MIUI rom for Milestone and I really liked it, I switched from CM7, and when I did a data restore from CM7 to MIUI, it made my phone freeze and not run properly, giving me system errors. So I wiped and did a davlik wipe as well. Did a nandroid restore to my CM7 rom and used Astro file manager to backup all my apps. Than I wiped again and flashed MIUI, than used astro to install all the apps again, but they do not show up as installed in my market. Just the purchased ones show up as not installed, just pruchased. Is there a way that I can fix it, so the market will detect me installed apps so I can update them. I was hoping to have to avoid reinstalled 50 or more apps.
Thanks, Adam.
Hope all that made sense lol

Use TITANIUM BACKUP and use the option to force app to show on market.
the Market Doctor? or is there another option? Will restoring my apps make them appear in the market?
Thanks.

Download the TITANIUM BACKUP and them look for the option to attach the app you want to the Market.
Simple like that.
search app call "google xxx architecture" in manage application, clear cache, reboot, relogin gmail, open market
off coz use tititum backup to save the app for DR
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
What about the apps that it didn't attach? it maybe did half...

Hi,
i just upgraded my Dream to CM4.1.9999. Did a wipe and everything works good so far. Before the wipe i backed u my aps with Astro. Now, on the new Rom i installed Astro and instaleld the backed-up apps. After installing them, when i look in the Market under "Downloads" those dont show up. In 4.1.4 i remember all Apps used to show up under there, regardless if hey were installed from SD or the Market. The reason why i mention this is, because now i wont get update notifications for those apps. Would be quite some time to reinstall each app from the Market.
Also, in CM4.1.9999 is it possible to turn of the Camera shutter sound?
Thanks!

Only apps installed by Market will show as installed in Market. What you saw with 4.1.4 is probably because you gone back fast enough. Just use aTrackDog to keep your apps updated. It's faster than the notification you get from Market anyways.
or so u can make sure they are paid for

Check out ToyCam in the market.
I recently installed CM7 and restored my apps using Titanium Backup (premium). Most of the apps do not show up in Market->My Apps as Installed. Some of them appear after I have upgraded them using App Brain.
I have tried wiping the phone and starting from scratch, clearing data on Market and on Google Framework, running Fix Permissions in Rom Manager, running Market Doctor in Titanium Backup.
The only thing I haven't tried is wiping and letting Android re-download all the apps. I don't want to do this until I've exhausted all other options.
This started about a week ago (around the time the web market was released). I'm not sure about the exact date (whether it was when I installed CM7, upgraded to #36, or when the market was released).
Bumping. Still having this problem.
If you search for an app that's installed (but not in My Apps), does the Market show it as installed?
You can try using Titanium to restore Market links for apps that are missing, so that'd be worth a go.
Must admit though, whenever my Market isn't showing everything, clearing it's data always sorts it.
Seeing as you've had this problem for several days, I would go ahead and fully wipe as with a little preparation, it should only take 45 minutes or so, depending on Android. Hopefully you have a stable Nandroid, restore it, then I would:
Apps that I've highly customized (ADW, LauncherPro, GentleAlarm, etc) I would export their settings using their built in Export functionality
Go ahead and fully wipe, sometimes it takes a couple wipes
Flash ROM, sign in & let Android install the apps
Restore data only using TB, toggling just the apps that absolutely need it & that didn't have built-in export functions (not ADW, LP, GA, etc). If the app doesn't have a lot of settings, avoid restoring its previous data to avoid unnecessary problems
Once the phone calms, begin importing settings that were exported
In the past when I was messing with ROMs I ran into this problem and just loaded up Appbrain and let it sync. After that the market showed my installed apps.
But as said, Titanium is supposed to be able to do this.. Although I never saw it actually work.
SOLVED
Had the same problem.
Just go to my apps->market->clear data->stop service
run again market and sign in -> voila you have all your apps listed
I think most people posting in this forum having this problem probably tried that already. ;-)

Good day everyone, I have a small question which might sound odd to some of you, please note that I am aware of nandroid and titanium backup etc... as i have purchased titanium backup and find it extremely useful i know exactly what it does.
My question is pretty simple, is there an app that one can download and use, which makes a list of all apps installed and can backup that list either online or on the phone or in whatever way possible, and if one has to restore a phone or install a new rom etc.. can restore that list and the app would RE-DOWNLOAD all apps from market. I DON'T WANT TO RESTORE the apps from a backup, i just want an automated system to re-download and install the apps from the market directly. I know this might not make any sense to some/most of you, but the reason is quite simple, I've used titanium backup to make backups of my apps, but once restored some apps FC, and i can't be bothered to go through all apps one by one to check which are good and which need to be re-installed after every recovery I do. I know appbrain can show you what apps are installed, but i couldn't figure out a way to create a shopping list which i can use to re-install all the apps from the market after i do a rom isntall.
Thank you.
Rodi
erm..... as for apps i think there is only Titanium what can do batch restore.
re-downloading all your apps would really take a long time.
CM7 (ROM) does this, but do you really wanna swap ROMs for this reason, i doubt it.
can i just ask, when you use Titanium, are you restoring system data too ?? because this is the reason what causes FC's , i have suffered this before.
when using Titanium, its best to restore app + app data ONLY, system data is data kept from the previous ROM, therefor it causes issues (FC's) with the new ROM.
Yes, appbrain and the fast web installer does that.

For the time it takes, i don't mind, i'll set it on wifi and let it do it's thing, as for the question about app data and system data, well I don't backup system data, and when i restore i only restore apps only not even apps data, then on a 4-5 apps i restore app data.
markdj57: thx for the answer, can you give me a quick rundown on how to do it through appbrain? as i couldn't find a way to make it download the list of apps
Thank you fellas,
Rodi
AppBrain i download and frequently save the apps list .
Click on app and check install likewise on phone open AppBrain and install/Update .
Its not an automated process.
jje
Go to appbrain website and login using your google account.
Install appbrain and fast web installer from android market.
Sync with appbrain website using app.
On new firmware, do a sync. Appbrain detects new firmware so go to website and you will see 2 lists of apps. Copy all apps to new list and delete old list (optional) be careful you don't delete wrong list.
Enable fast web installer app.
Sync appbrain app. Hit the install button and all your apps will install. Sometimes takes a few times if all apps aren't available in market.
For a few days, some of my paid apps were not visible in the market but it sorted itself out eventually.
Hope this helps
Mark

i have this weird problem:
first, i'm running CM7 from a verygreen's SD card
it was running fine but i had some force closes so i resintalled from the begining (reflashed verygreens image), then installed CM7.0.2, installed gapps, and when the market was downloading all of my apps, my system crashed down, and had to reboot.
After that, i havent been able to see my free apps in the "My Apps" tab of the market, i can see my paid apps.
tried to reflash again verygreens image to delete everything, upgraded to n59, still, only see my paid apps. tried restore them with titanium, and they restore, but the "Attach to market" option does not work for me
when i log to the web market, it shows that all my apps (free and paid) as if they were already installed
has anyone else seen this behaviour? any idea?
thanks

Not really, but you might try this... Install and run Appbrain, sync up with it, etc.. then go into the Market app.
When I was messing with ROMs a while back with apps already on my SD ext partition they'd show up to run but not in the Market, but running Appbrain always "attached" them for me. Did it several times.
Using CM7, I was experiencing the same issue, but any new app I downloaded, free or paid, would then show up in the market. I wasn't too concerned, as I only had 5 free apps from the market. Amazon Market, which is where most of my apps are, showed all without an issue.

thanks a lot, this attached all my restored apps (with TitatiumB) to the market again.
missing apps still fail to be re-downloaded, but not a problem since i have a full backup of my apps, just have to restore them and reattach with appbrain

I still have no idea why it works, but glad it does
Is there any program to make backup of apps, but only names (not APKs, not data etc.)?
I want to mass download all my apps, that I had before, but using Google Play.
Hi,
Ultimate Backup provides an option to share your list of installed apps. It can even include the Play Store link and version.

Ultimate Backup is the best .. but titanium backup is not bad
You can try MyBackup but it may be a problem to backup only names. I tried backup only apk. It works but when i tried to load backup on new soft it fall in bootloop. But i think on rooted phone it will work well
but when you restore programs after flashing a new rom it´s possible that you "build" bugs...for example flashing ics and then restore app´s which were installed under gb isn´t so good
If I got it right, then the question was how to export a list of installed apps to be able to install them again from Market. Manually that would be, without a backup of APK or app data.
with appbrain and also with the last relase of Market you can see the storyline of your app installed in your device
Guys, first of all - thanks for replying.
My idea is to "backup" apps without backing up any APKs or data (DO CLEAN INSTALL DOWNLOADING LATEST VERSIONS OF APPS) to prevent any bugs on new ROM.
Elentirmo74, yes, something like that.
So, for now the only solution is to use Appbrain storyline or Google Play Store history.
Play store has a list of all apps you have ever installed across all devices. That sounds like all you need as you can then redownload and install the ones you want.
